11/4/2009 1:33:26 PM This is kinda random, but has make me laugh (and kinda freaked me out now, but meh) I thought i'd share..... So...i left some neutral feedback for a pet tag i had ordered on ebay and found a rather strange email from some american guy in my inbox this morning (not the person i ordered the item from).......   this is my feedback..... 'Description could have been better i was expecting this to be engraved for price'   Apparently this guy thought i was out of line, this is the messages (his in blue, me in pink).....   I dont think you are a decent person. I came across you while reading reviews. No where does that seller say that it is going to be sent with names etched on it. With unjust comments like yours you can really ruin someones hard earned business. I dont know this seller...except I am bidding on a cat card on their site now...I live in upstate NY in the USA. I hope you rethink what you said and maybe retract that rating. Its not really fair. .......................my response..........................   Hi, You are obviously a friend/relative or another account of the seller...whatever! I left neutral feedback, not negative! I felt her description could have been better worded. Thats why i left neutral as i feel the listing is a little misleading. We are all entitled to an opinion, i don't think my feedback is unjust, just honest. No where on the listing does it say the tag is NOT engraved! Most people would presume it would be. Why would i leave feedback that is not honest, that is misleading to other buyers. Thanks for interfearing ;-) ...........................His response.......................................... Sorry you feel that way....but, I live in upstate, NY...near Albany.  I've only been to the UK once and it was to England.  I hated it. To be honest I am bidding on a card on that website.  And one day I was just looking at the prices paid for her stuff....I nearly had a heart attack because I saw that some cards were going for 16 pounds...in American dollars that would be like 25!  I just started  reading more and then found yours. Sorry you feel that I have ulterior motives, I wont bother you again! Regards,    way to hate on England, anyway........my response.......................   Hi, I didn't mean to seem rude, but it just struck me as a little suspicous that someone would take the time to respond to a feedback that they knew nothing of the circumstances behind. Feedback is there so you can make an informed descision whether or not to buy from that seller. I didn't say the service was bad or leave negative feedback, just that i thought the description could have been better, as i now have to spend more money getting the tag engraved. If the listing was clearer i would not have brought the item. Hense the 'Neutral' feedback. It does not affect the sellers feedback rating. And maybe she will make her listing clearer from now on. his response.............again.................... You do have a good point about having to get it engraved now. I have a medical problem with my legs so I have so much time on my hands. Obviously too much. Anyway, have a great holiday season. Regards,   WTH, but anyway, i thought that was the end of it didn't say anything else, not much point in arguing with an idiot. Then i logged in to find another message  WTFH!!!.... I thought you might get a kick out of this from Judge Judy about a scam on Ebay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJDK6ctRjqw Also, I have small dogs...cairn terriers...its funny my younger dog...Alistair people think he is a cat! When we walk people always make comments about him looking like a cat.   I ordered the neatest id tags for them.  You can pretty much pick from dozens of styles, many colors, and personalize it in so many ways with fonts, colors and decorations. Here is a link to it.  Don't forget to scroll down till you see the types of crowns...very charming. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200353619949&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_11015wt_1165 Sorry again,    again...now i am kinda creeped out...i mean ....why, why, why???!!!!
10/9/2009 4:55:38 AM For anyone that Is an Instructor, or ever has been, I thought i'd share these (i took these from a FB group). I highlighted my faves..haha....   *you know what the PSIA/AASI is (or any of the divisions in any other country) *you are 100% comfortable walking around in public wearing your long johns/spandex *the people you work with aren't just from your town, they're from all over the world *you tell every parent that their kid was one of the best in the group in hopes that you'll get a bigger tip *you keep your life in a locker in a dank basement beneath a cafeteria... or in a boot bag *you don't pay to get your gear waxed or sharpened, you do it yourself (in the same dark basement the rest of your life is in) *you know the shops to go to for the best deals in the area (and you know that it's not at the mountain you work for) *during weekends, you tend to hang out only with people you work with *at line up, you stand in the "greeting area" in hopes that once everyone's showed up, there's no group for you to work with *you know you get much more respect in uniform and you abuse that fact *when you found out you get 50% off food, including waffle house, it made your year and you immediately thereafter gained approximately 10 lbs at the very next opportunity *when you wake up in the morning to go to work, you don't bother with hair or make-up, you just put on a beanie and go *you have calves the size of Canada from running up and down the bunny hill all day long while wearing all your gear *you actually prefer wearing your helmet when you're not on the bunny hill *you go through gloves/mittens like it's nobody's business... damn rope tows... *when you see bare ground in january it makes you want to cry *you know exactly what time of day a trail is best to ski on and what time of day it's not *you enjoy getting name tags for your jacket with outrageous nicknames and fake hometowns *pajama bottoms and studded belts are perfectly acceptable work attire =P *when you meet someone who claims they've never skied or boarded before, you look at them like they're from a different planet *L.L. Bean Gore-Tex (mt.snow) *can you say permanent goggle tan? *your best day ever is when you have a group of kids who really enjoy their lesson *your worst day ever is when you have a group of kids that complain and whine that they're rather be playing video games *face-masks are only acceptable in weather below 15 degrees (F). at all other times, you are a wuss. *while all your friends stumble around in their ski boots, you've perfected the art of running, jumping, and dancing in yours   *you also know that two layers of socks will actually make your feet colder, not warmer *you recognize that anyone sitting in the middle of a run is fair game to spray (as in cover them with snow using a sharp turn or stop) *you always feel guilty about not going to the optional training sessions on your days off, but you still skip anyways *your summers are just "okay" in comparison *even when you're not working, you live at the mountain. *you've filled out an incedent report form for when a kid fell down but was perfectly ok *when all you say all day is "pizza... frenchfries!" *you feel funny if you aren't wearing your ski or board boots *you'd trade your nice warm summers to go work at a mountain in some other part of the world where it's actually cold *You actually loose or spend more money than you make *you become just another one of the kids. *...you can ski/run in skis just as well backwards as you can forwards. * ...you have a pocket fully dedicated to the toddlers' used kleenex. * ...you know the exact wait, up and down time off any point on the mountain. * when it takes you less time to wax and scrape your skis in the morning than it does for you to brush your teeth and have a shave... * you find it almost impossible NOT to greet every human being under the age of 15 with a "Hey Buddy!" * ...when losing your goggles on the hill makes you more angry than you would be if a kid repeatedly slapped the back of your head singing the 'Spongebob Squarepants' theme tune... * when the combined value of your gear in your vehicle when moving for the new season more then doubles the value of the vehicle.... * when you see cheap gloves at the supermarket and cringe...because you KNOW someone is going to show up wearing them and complaining that its cold... * when you wear your instructor jacket everywhere even when you're not working just for the benifits (cut lift lines, more respect, etc) *...when you look at the next batch of incoming rookies and think "gee, I hope I didnt suck that bad, or look that bad when I started," (but you know you probably did.) *... you hate getting the last group out the door at lesson calls * ... hate kids that are there only because their parents want them to try it, but the kids themselves dont * ... you hate it when you get kids who have never experienced any kind of athletic activity in their lives. you are embarrassed when other instructors point out how slowly that particular child in your group is progressing, while their ice skater/hockey player/skateboarder is doing great *...when 5 year old kids have equipment that is worth more than your car, just for them to grow out of it in a year.... *...you hear the kids in your lesson talk about their second house with a pool and "big" cars and you know you arent getting a tip...simply because the richer the parents the cheaper they are *If you can geographically place somebody's home state by a) whether or not their jeans are tucked into their boots b) how they carry their gear c) The nature of their jacket * when the ski lift becomes one of the most challenging elements you face all day! *fresh powder is just about more arousing than that special someone, almost, unless its that perfect, dry, powder then its like bringing a gun to a knife fight. *you dont gain feeling back in your toes and fingers until april *you know that the ratio of tip money received to technical terms used is connected directly (regardless of the fact that actually you had just blacked out and after you walk away will have no recollection of what just went down only that you do or do not have some money in your hand). * You no longer ask whether someone is a boarder or a skier you just look at their shoes. *your pocket consists of kleenex tissues, gummy bears, handwarmers, and tip ties *You hate taking your group inside because you know once they take their gear off, you'll never be able to recognize them. *you know that, "I can hold it NOW" is little kid short for i pissed my pants but i still have to go *when everyone thinks you went tanning, but it's just your face that got sun. *you cant imagine ever spending full price on you equipment, softgoods, passes, or food at a lodge ever again. *you constantly analyze other peoples ski-ing / boarding even though its your day off. *when there's fresh pow, you make sure you're one of the first one the mountain. *you laugh at the parents of your four year old when they ask you why their child is not skiing on the chairlift yet, when they proceeded to cry all day not wanting to ski and had more fun eating the snow * you know what a TFK is (Token Fat Kid) and always seem to be the one that gets them * you HAVE to do at least one run at the end of each day just so you remember what its like to ride with two feet strapped in. *you can sit around watching disney movies and get payed for it *when random children start waving at you and calling your name in public places…and you look at them like “who the hell are you?” and then realize ooo this kid must have been one of my students…but I don’t recognize them because they are in street clothes…and then proceed by saying a generic “hey buddy!” *your boss gets drunk at the employee party at the end of the yaer and grinds a rookie. *ur an instructor when your facebook profile has a picture of a mountain or you wearing goggles all year... *everyday there is one kid who makes teaching worth while cuz they just rock even if they cant ski for shit *when one of your kids has skis that are older than you, you know it's going to be one hell of a day teaching that kid to turn * When your watching a kid come down the hill and you think to yourself "that kids gonna fall in 3...2...1" and they actually do. *your goggle tan gives people the impression that you travelled somewhere tropical for vacation, until they see the top half of your face *when you know never to trust any customer who claims their kid knows how to snowboard because they have played it on their Wii *rumors about things friends have done spread faster over the mountain than the time it takes for the actions being spoken of to be completed *your favorite quote: "Im 3 but my mommy told me to say i was 4" *when doing introductions and you ask the "what sports do you play/do?" question and the answer is "i play video games", you know you will have a terrible lesson and not get tipped well, if at all. *there are too many love triangles happening in ski school to even follow and your really lucky if your relationship lasts more than one week... *when you work somewhere, where people do not recognise the national flag stitched onto your left arm *when you scrape your board on a rock and life feels as if it is about to end *when, at the end of the week, u have at least as many friend requests on facebook from 14 year olds u don't recognise as people you actually know *when you analyse everyone under you when you are going up on the lift *You've got "winter friends" and "summer friends" *You work at a smaller mountain and no for a certain fact that you will get at least a half dozen kids whose parents say they just skied Chamonix (or the equivelant) just last week yet they can't even make it down the bunny hill *You are completely comfortable in barely above freezing days in nothing more than shortsleeves and a vest because you KNOW that you'll be teacing three year olds and sweating through evertyhing in just a couple of minuts. *when u have dreams of counting kids in the lift line! *you know pretty much every single disney movie line for line...and have no problem dancing around with your fellow instructors singing "I can show you the world" *when your crew says "Hey, we're lapping the park" and your response is "No go. I have to work on bumps...my exams are next week."
