12/4/2011 2:08:10 AM All I do is open the door to our winter room to get a reaction along the lines of "That's a lot of stuff."  Then, shake my head.  I only go as far as tallying what I currently have while I'm out on the mountain... right down to socks.  Easily 1K worth of "investments".  That doesn't include a season pass.  The amount is just gear/clothes. When I first started snowboarding, renting was good enough until I grew tired of wearing rental boots.  Personally, I like having my own stuff, regardless of what I'm doing.  The upside to having more than you need is being able to share the experience with someone who hasn't snowboarded before-- cheaper for them.  If they like it, you have a new snowboarding buddy! Win-win! Adding to your list: Health insurance.  In case you don't have it.  That is a true investment.
12/4/2011 1:51:27 AM I've discovered the local food trucks.  Favorite so far is the MiniBurger Truck.  The cowbell.  Oh, man... I'm gonna get fat.
12/4/2011 1:50:03 AM This year's wishlist doesn't have much.  I already got what I wanted: Burton Escapade bindings.  Yay!  Just gotta find the right time to use them (read: better snow conditions). I can always get material stuff throughout the year, but Black Friday makes me spend.  Almost got through it this year without letting go of a dime. Fine...  I give in... Mountain Hardwear Monkey jacket in the light brown color.  Think of a teddy bear hugging you.Snowshoes.Toe socks.  Lots of them.
12/4/2011 1:44:35 AM Spending time with family, friends, etc.  Best of all... eating delicious food that only my mom and aunt can make.  Mmmm!
12/4/2011 1:30:05 AM Traffic at the Starbucks drive-thru.  Defies the convenience aspect of it all. So many things are so convenient that it becomes an inconvenience.
11/26/2011 1:39:12 AM I planned on buying absolutely nothing.  Stuck to my guns until the ads landed in front of me.  A television was purchased.  A sectional sofa and ottoman is next.  It's the first Black Friday in a long time that I didn't buy gifts.  Practicing self-control right now so I don't get a new camera.  That may change some time this weekend.
11/2/2011 11:48:36 PM Homewood!
10/17/2011 2:27:13 PM My dog took a #2 and my nephew decided to ollie over it.  He nearly ran over the pile.  Mid-air, skateboard flew off and he landed on his bum.  Landed a few inches from the lovely pile. Lesson of the day: know how to ollie.  It could keep you from walking home.
9/17/2011 11:29:36 PM Lazy people.  Not necessarily at work.  People who want others to do everything for them.
9/10/2011 2:19:43 PM I watched it several times just to see what was missing.  The soundtrack seemed a bit melow, as if they were really stressed out during production and needed calming music.
9/4/2011 1:11:30 AM This is the first time I've seen RedStar in the gear guide.  Looked interesting, yet suspicious.  Their terms are definitely in black and white.  No tricks.  It's a marketing strategy.
9/4/2011 1:00:52 AM Good deal, but I must pass.  That $199 was just spent on a new snowboard!  Excited!
9/4/2011 12:57:21 AM I wouldn't have reported for work if I were you. As a customer, I would leave the restaurant, especially if it's obvious the server is sick.  The manager should be demoted for allowing a sick server to work.  I hate being sick or feeling under the weather for any reason. I've been to restaurants where a staff member obviously sick and found myself watching them.  What they touched, where they went, how they interacted with people.  I probably had a disgusted look on my face because I knew the surfaces were contaminated and these people were about to get sick. Remember, you're calling in sick... because you're sick.  Unless you have a pattern of absences, then that's a whole different story.
9/4/2011 12:45:41 AM This is a winner for me.  During colder days, I wear an 800 fill Marmot puffy "jacket" under a shell.  Warm and toasty.  The "jacket" is so thin, I forget I'm wearing it.  I don't consider it a jacket because a sweatshirt is bulkier and much heavier, for me anyway.
9/4/2011 12:31:12 AM I recently received the 2012 gear guide and was pleasantly surprised to see an ad from ProBoardshop.com for Sierra boards.  Thought it was pretty cool! Page 247.
