3/19/2009 11:24:12 AM Note that I have put preferred in the title haha. Basically, for your all mountain riding, what kind of board shape do you prefer? twin? directional? tapered? From my understanding most people like the directional twin due to the setback, but I'd like to see what some of ya'll think.
3/16/2009 10:16:51 PM I'll be in Heavenly from April 4th to the 6th for my 19th birthday. This is my first REAL trip to Heavenly. Last time was just.... ugh and crowded. Hopefully different this time. Booked the Lakeside Inn, seems like a pretty nice place to stay. Hope it's worth the trip! Any tips guys? Opinions on the Inn, food, cheap lift tix, recommended lifts (as in NOT CROWDED)?
3/16/2009 1:26:32 AM Just got a reply that I was chosen to be an intern for Nike this summer at their HQ in Eugene! I'll be getting an official phone call in the morning, but good thing I checked my email this late. Man, I am so stoked! Best benefit: Free summer pass to Mt. Hood!!! I dunno if they're going to give me an actual pass or if I just have to show an employee card or anything, but I am for sure taking the extra time to drive my car up there now instead of flying. Anyone know how far it is from Eugene to Hood? BTW, i'll be in the marketing dept. MAN I AM SO HAPPY!
3/13/2009 1:07:36 PM Just thinking it would be cool to see what everyone is planning to get in exchange for generous donations to Sierra next season, if you know what I meanĀ . New tech yeaa! I'll be on a full Ride setup: Ride DH2, Nitranes, and FUL boots. Hopefully this is my solution for a setup that slays those massive kickers and booters since that is what I LIVE for. Oh, and Vans outerwear. Electric EG2's or those Smith I/O-S that Kimchi is rocking. What about you guys? How's 2010 shaping up for you?
3/6/2009 11:02:58 AM Hey Sierra. I accidentally deleted all my PM's when clearing my inbox and your message with the free t-shirt code was there. Any chance you could recover it? P.S. I'm not trying to play you guys. I haven't ordered a shirt from you in my ordered history, if that's proof enough.
3/1/2009 11:06:20 PM Was wondering if there was ever a rideshare service set up here at Sierra? If not, then is it possible to set one up? I'm sure there are many people like me in the Sactown area who don't have the type of car or driving ability to get up to the Tahoe area, and are SEVERELY limited in terms of bus choice (basically only to Squaw from Sierra). I'm pretty much dying by not being able to take advantage of Boreal's college Fridays since there is no shuttle going up there from here. What do you guys think? Any insight appreciated.
2/26/2009 11:10:35 PM I'm really digging the white colorway. Anyone had experience with this? Comparable to the Airblaster Ninja Mask? Also wondering if it's fine to rock by itself. I'm taking it easy my next trip because it's pow-eriffic and I'm spending the day teaching my gf and her sister how to ride, so it's unlikely I'm going to need a helmet. Just tired of bandana's having spit frozen to it on a daily basis.
2/26/2009 5:57:03 PM Anyone know what the bag on the strap is for? Its actually pissing me off at the moment since I'm trying to put the straps underneath my helmet and it's kind of smashing my ears. Maybe for the goggle soft case? Seriously guys, help me out. Never bought goggles that had a bag on the side.
2/18/2009 12:50:16 AM Just ordered a pair of IS Design Forma's after trying on a pair at Kirkwood today. Actually haven't heard that much of the company, so I did a search here (yay, search is working!), and Zag seems to be the local expert on them. Just wanted to give some free advert for IS Design -- these things did not fog at ALL, period. They fit better than Feenom's and A-Frames on my asian-ish face (I'm one of those Filipino's that stubbornly believes that we are Pacific Islanders), and it doesn't feel like the foam will pack in and leave a gap on my bridgeless nose. Peripheral's are off the charts, and they are the most comfortable gog's I have ever used. Just wanted to put another option on the board for those looking for the PERFECT gog, and IMO it should be at or very near the top. And btw, there are also smaller frames to choose from for those with smaller faces. I was using the Emerald Mirror Clear Lens, but most IS Design gogs come with Amber ones, so I was shredding it up even in heavy snowfall conditions. Extremely recommended.
2/15/2009 7:30:43 PM Anybody have any experience with these goggles? I'm wondering about their peripheral vision and their fit. I'm an Asian with a pretty flat bridge btw. Thanks for any help!
2/13/2009 2:07:39 AM Topic explains it all. Trying to see whether people still rock their regular winter jackets in spring conditions or if they go to a lighter jacket. On the fence about buying a spring shell because it gets pretty damn hot in Tahoe in the springtime, but kind of hesitant to put down the bucks on a new jacket if I can get away with riding in my current one. BTW, I'm rocking a Burton 2.5L Dryline Slick Jacket right now.
2/10/2009 12:32:25 AM Just to give ya'll a heads up, someone on the Sacramento craigslist posted up these 2 boards for $200 each. Dunno if he's willing to ship, but you can call and ask. Burton 2009 Mens Snowboard (154cm) - $200 -Burton 2008 Mens Snowboard (158 cm) - $200 - Hope someone can swoop on these.
2/9/2009 12:28:16 PM I've been noticing that there's a lot of criticism concerning unibody bindings. Just wondering why. Been thinking about holding off on 2009 K2 Formulas for the 2010's but K2 is supposedly switching to a unibody platform for all of their ranges. I'd like to hear the pro's and con's of this and any help is appreciated. Cheers,Dustin
2/6/2009 8:15:19 PM Hey guys, looking for an Analog Chapel jacket, L preferably. Also looking for anything that resembles it, like flannel/plaid shells. I've been rocking a yellow XXL Chapel since the beginning of the season, but I lost a ton of weight, so it doesn't fit at all anymore. There was some pretty serious leakage as well. So guys, help me out!
