1/11/2013 6:44:22 PM Looking to buy either of these bindings in M.  Let me know if you have them.  I also may be willing to trade my NOW bindings for them.  I have only used them twice.  I went to the Burton Demo tour last weekend and ended up loving the Joystick so I bought it.  My only two boards now are both EST so I think I rather have that than my NOW bindings. http://now-snowboarding.com/
12/17/2012 7:31:27 AM This site is pretty sweet: http://opensnow.com It has a local expert from different regions of the country predicting snow fall for the region.  Each guy on the site lives to predict snow fall.  Of course it is the weather so no matter it is hard to predict but these guys give it everything they have so digging the new site.  tahoeweatherdiscussion is now closed and has moved to this site. You can customize a dashboard which will show you predicted snowfall for a wide slew of mountains so you can try to chase the pow in your local region and beyond if you wish. Pretty sweet.
12/17/2012 6:50:37 AM Sorry if this was posted elsewhere but I didn't see it. This thread is for giving your impressions of the binding AFTER riding them or asking questions. My initial impression is that I really like them.  I do not think there is a tremendous difference but I "felt" a little more edge control and more natural coming in and out of hard carves. My buddy said that overall my carving looked a little smoother and more rounded.  Overall I just really liked the feel.  I was going to do a side by side comparison where the next day I went back to my Malavitas but I didnt want to take them off because I was liking the feel.  I will do it on my next trip though and update posts. I am 5'9" and weigh about 155, I wear boot size 8.5 and was using the medium binding with the medium bushing.
12/5/2012 10:41:08 PM ... ... ... ... ... I have two AK Cyclic pants in Large that are both slightly used with no rips, stains, or tears in slightly used condition.  Both have been used less than ten days.  One is black and the other is tan.  I would want an AK Cyclic(or possibly different AK pant or other top of the line pant) in medium for either one as well in slightly used condition.  I am also willing to sell the AK Cyclic pants if you want to buy them. 115  105   100  95 shipped to CONUS addresses for the tan. SOLD125 115 105 100 shipped to CONUS addresses for the black. If you have something let me know and I can send pictures and you can do the same. Thanks I also have two AK Stagger jackets in L.  I might want to trade one for a medium Stagger jacket or other AK jacket.  One is Grey with white zipper and other is blue with orange zipper.  Grey has been used less than 10 days and the blue has been used one day at this point.
10/12/2012 6:47:17 PM Hi I am looking to purchase a used pair of split board bindings and skins.  let me know what you got :) I also am selling a Rome Agent Rocker in perfect condition as potential partial trade bait: http://trusnow.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=50021
9/27/2012 8:16:34 PM This is a general discussion about weather for this winter season.  The site posted below is the best I found in regards to Tahoe weather.   http://tahoeweatherdiscussion.com/  This is the best I have found for Mammoth:   http://mammothweather.com/ ...he really is good as far as this stuff goes :)
8/17/2012 5:12:18 PM I talked to a staff member about this two days ago and the problem still persists.  I noticed someone else raise this flag as well in the product chat. I tried on my PC and Mac with no luck.  The shipping section says to select options for shipping but no shipping options are provided.  When you submit order an alert says to select shipping options. Anyone else having this problem.  Crazy to me that this is still going on two days later. I know the other individual who reported the problem said he tried in all four browsers so between the two of us we have pretty good coverage so it seems like the problem is not on my/our end.
6/2/2012 8:30:03 AM This thread is an opportunity to talk about your local housing market.  I live in the greater Los Angeles area and am buying a house in Ventura, CA (about twenty miles south of Santa Barbara).  With the current interest rates and the current price point for houses there are a lot of great opportunities in the market.  When you factor in the mortgage interest write off I am seeing many properties where the cost to own is less than the cost to rent.  This can be the case even when you only have a limited down payment, i.e. not twenty percent.  I am NOT a realtor soliciting business :)...I used to be in real estate financing but now I am a software engineer.  I just think a lot of people do not realize the opportunity that exists so...
1/11/2012 6:20:20 PM Here is today's post from tahoeweatherdiscussion.com . I am with him that it is hard to be optimistic considering the year so far but hey why not? Cautiously Optimistic…. Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 at 6:33 pm   Update: The new 0z GFS just came in and conintues to show storms Wednesday the 18th through the following Thursday the 26th. Original Post: Today is day 14 of the original countdown to the ridge leaving the West Coast.  It is now North off the Pacific NW coast and then we will see the ridge start to build over Alaska by the weekend.  The big snows in Alaska are going to take a break and shift South down the West Coast. In the long-range I like to use the teleconnections and not the unreliable forecast models.  The forecast over the past month and a half has been all long-range forecasting.  Once we get within a week of possible storms it is time to start using the forecast models for the details and the models within a week have picked up on the teleconnections. If you have been looking at the forecast models over the past 2 weeks you know all the flipping back and forth, but more than a week out this is exected especially when a pattern change is occuring.  We saw the stratospheric warming coming back in mid-December and the liklihood the AO would go negative in January.  The -AO produces blocking but the position of the blocking is critical.  The question is still where will the ridge setup in the North Pacific. Friday would be 5 days out from what could be the onset of the storms next Wednesday.  That is when I start to feel comfortable enough to look at snowfall amounts.  Today we are right on the edge of the one week mark so the forecast models start to become more interesting.  The trend today has been for a better chance for storms next week. If we had received normal amounts of snow so far this season I would be getting really excited for the storm prospects next week. But with the way the season has been going and not wanting anyone to jump off a bridge if it doesn’t snow I am still be cautiously optomistic.  That being said both the 12z GFS and Euro looked very similar for next week with storms starting to move in on Wednesday and lasting into the following weekend. Here is the GFS for next Friday…  and the total precip next Wednesday through the following weekend… And here is a mix of the models for days 7-14 If you look at the right sidebar as well you can see the NWS 6-10 day precip outlook has us in the above normal precip green shading.  That is the first time we have not been in the brown below average shading in over a month. The latest 18z GFS continued to show storms for this period and the general trend today is for increased confidence in a stormy pattern.  It’s not not Friday yet though and we could still see a flip in the next couple of days.  The danger is the ridge near Alaksa pushing West into the Bering Sea allowing the ridge to build off the coast and the storm track to stay just to our North. Looking at the teleconnections and prospects for the long-range everything is trending in a positive direction.  More importantly they are looking to be the opposite of the past 6 weeks and anything opposite is good at this point.  The forecast for the stratospheric warming is for it to reload over the Arctic the next couple of weeks.  That should mean a liklihood of more blocking into February.  If you notice at the top of the page the AO forecast has it going negative. With the blocking the block position is key.  Maybe more important is the forecast for the PNA to go negative mid-month.  That would correlate to a West Coast trough and increased storminess.  The MJO as you can see on the right sidebar is forecasted to restrengthen and move through phase 7 in the Western Pacfic.  That would also correlate to a West Coast trough and storms with increased chances of get a sub-tropical connection to the jet stream. If we could get some of the cold air to come South from the Strat warming to combine with a subtropical tap that could make for some fun later in the month.  Looking at the La Nina discussion yesterday from the NWS we are holding steady right at a border line moderate La Nina.  A lot of times the La Nina pattern doesn’t take over until January. So looking forward next week and beyond the weather looks like it should be a lot more intesting as we move forward.  Stay tuned…..BA P.S. Can you hear the crickets in my inbox as the naysayers have gone silent? I’m sure they’ll be back the first model run out of 100 that shows the storm track back the North but I’m enjoying the quiet for now.
11/23/2011 10:40:03 PM I am selling a 2011 Rome Agent Rocker that I literally rode one day for maybe 5 runs.  The board is basically perfect.  I am asking $325 300 275  250  225 dollars for it and I will pay for shipping.  The board size is 157. I will also throw in a pair of Burton Baker gloves brand new from 2009 (still in plastic) and a insulated Sessions Jacket that is several years old but only worn maybe 10 times. I am also open to trades for different boards. I have sold a few boards on this site with very positive feedback and I have a perfect ebay rating. I will try and get pictures up tomorrow. You might be able to see a hairline scratch through the red triangle but it is so slight it is really not even worth mentioning. In the second picture you might be able to see a hairline chip out of the top sheet...very very slight.  Essentially it is almost impossible to ride a board for a day and have less damage.  Like I said the board is basically perfect.
10/17/2011 7:44:54 AM So I just bought an epic pass and I am thinking about planning a trip to Colorado on either November 18 weekend or December 16th weekend.  A little about my riding: My buddy and I are solid riders who love pow and also like freestyle riding as well preferably on natural terrain but enjoy parks too. Northstar is my home mountain. Questions: 1. Which of the epic pass resorts would you hit up (never been to Colorado) 2. How far are the resorts from Denver (that is where I will be flying in)? 3. Is there public transportation from Denver to resorts or do you "need" to rent a car? 4. I stay in dumps in Tahoe and would be looking for similar cheap accommodations.  What cheap lodging options are available? 5. Are the resorts typically open the 3rd week of November and what are the conditions like?  I know this will vary from year to year obviously  but just looking for best guesses. 6. Is there a good chance of really good conditions the 3rd week of December? Thank you for your help!!!
10/16/2011 8:41:53 AM Does anyone know if there is public transportation between Reno and Tahoe?  I haven't had any luck yet find cheap transportation between the two.  Looking at Tart it seems like there is no scheduled routes between the two. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
9/26/2011 7:37:20 PM I am trying to decide where to buy a season pass this season.  I have had a season pass at N* for the past three years and have gained a lot of local knowledge of the hill but am still considering Squaw this year instead. The problem is that I will mainly be riding on the weekend and N* offers the fast pass which allows for shorter lines.  I really do not want to make the trek up from so cal to wait in long lines.  Does squaw get really crowded on the weekends?  I will be spending a fair time on advanced runs but also like blues to work on my freestyle progression riding. Also I wanted to add your thoughts on Alpine.  Do you think realistically (until the terrain is merged) that Alpine really adds anything to the pass?  In other words with a season pass to both mountains based on your riding experience at both resorts do you think you will spend many days riding Alpine?  If so what does it have to offer that Squaw doesn't. Any advice is much appreciated.
7/30/2011 3:03:31 PM I just picked up a 157 Rome Agent Rocker from last year new.  The price was too good to pass up.  I am totally geeking on the board and would like some feedback from people who have ridden the board as to how it rides. Right now I am riding a Midlife 155 which I love...I am hoping that it feels a little stiffer and of course the extra couple centimeters can't hurt. Would like a little more stability on the steeps and hoping the rocker under feet will give me solid float in the pow.  I own a Malolo which is rad on deep pow days but I want to start tackling pow switch riding and the Malolo is not the best place to start for that. Any feedback to spur my geekdome is appreciated.
7/5/2011 8:43:02 PM I am going to be traveling by plane quite a bit this next snowboarding season.  I have two boards both with their own set of bindings and of course boots, helmet, and everything else.  Can I store all of my gear in the low roller or will I need the high roller? Thanks!
