Have had it for a little while and never got to cruise through pow with it like I had hoped. Burton Cartels (Non-Est) - Size Large - Purple - SOLDLightly used Cartels with about a handful of days on them. The only visible wear is on the side where there was a metal cutout screwed onto the board. It bent within the first day and for safety reasons (it's sharp as hell) I yanked it off. Everything else is perfect. 11/19/2010 11:55:45 AM So I've been away for a while, so pardon my ignorance, but I keep trying to go to SierraSnowboard and I'm constantly redirected to TruSnow. Can someone please explain to me what this is about? I used to get a lot of really sweet deals with Sierra and the folks really worked for the customer. While this site bares a certain resemblance to Sierra, I just don't know if I trust it fully. Any insight that can be offered would be much appreciated.
1/26/2010 7:00:12 AM I don't know if it's been done already on the forums but if it has, who cares. Happy Birthday Jenn, you're one of the main reasons this site is so awesome in my eyes and I'm glad to have finally met you this passed weekend minus the time you whipped my hands and I lost feeling in it for about 20 minutes...but hey it was still funny!
1/14/2010 9:46:48 PM Seemingly so, this is going to be a running theme for me in 2010. As you all know I work for Burton's Chill program and we kicked off our first week this past Tuesday. One of the discussion points that we go over while on the bus is Injuries. Although we'd love to avoid the topic, it's absolutely essential as accidents DO happen. We made it through 2 days without any problems and today they just seemed to keep coming...but one had a twist that made me cringe beyond belief. A little boy by the name of Brendan was riding down the hill and was going to do a toe side turn and caught an edge...he sent himself backwards and slammed pretty hard on his back. By the time I got down to him, he wasn't moving much but was breathing. I really haven't been in situations such as this but I was surprisingly calm. I made it a point not to move him but to check his breathing and to attempt to see if he was coherent. Seconds after I knelt beside him, I was pushed away by a random individual who checked for a pulse and began chest presses immediately. Being that I don't know CPR I assumed he knew what he was doing. After one chest press he pulled back exclaiming, "the kid is laughing...he's totally not hurt" and gets up in a fury. I was surprised as I spent roughly 30 seconds trying to get ANYTHING out of the child but didn't. The individual then stands up and turns to another Chill member and says, "Give me my f'ing board back". Immediately, I lost my cool addressing him in a stern manner and said, "Relax man and watch your language...these are kids you know". The guy apologizes, takes the board, and walks off. Seconds later another kid of ours, Joshua, comes over to me and asks me why the random guy took his board. Originally it was my assumption that the individual was a volunteer for our program as there are a large amount on any given day but later I realized that he was just a random guy who had just stolen one of our boards. It didn't upset me all that much that he had stolen the board, but more or less the situation which he utilized to acquire said board. There was a child laying motionless on the ground possibly not breathing, and you fake knowing CPR in order to steal an 8 year old snowboard from a child participating in an underprivileged youth non-profit program? Some people really just disgust me...I just can't believe people like that really exist.
1/14/2010 7:31:45 AM So yesterday on the way to running my CHILL program I stopped into Paragon sports where a few of my friends work to have my board repaired; last weekend while riding I pushed a rail out on the nose. Since I absolutely love the board and want it with me in CO next week for BP I figured I better get on top of things. So I walk through the shop with my board in a board bag and head back to the snowboard section. The sales rep that was helping me was awesome and wasn't a complete tool unlike most individuals in stores like this. As he's nearing the completion of my paperwork he asks for the slip that security gave me. When I told him that I wasn't given a slip he asked me to take my board up to the front and speak with them. I get up to the exit and there are two individuals standing there talking amongst themselves. I politely say, "Sorry for interrupting but are you two Security? I was told I need a slip for bringing this in the store." They both look at me as if they can't even speak and after several seconds of discomfort answer "Maybe". So I respond "So I assume you are both security, can you help me with this?" They rifle back "Why did you hide that from us? Trying to sneak it in or something?" Immediately, I kind of lost it. "What did you mean I was hiding it? I brought it in inside my bag. Would you have prefered me to come in the store singing and dancing with the board atop my head?" They grab the board from my hands and throw it down on the table, since it's the Ultrafear they can't ID it and he snottily asks me for the information, fills out the form, and I'm on the way to the back again. The paperwork is complete and I'm on my way out..I walk through the exit and before I'm out the second door I get grabbed and pulled back into the store as I'm being asked "What's in your bag? Empty it out!". I immediately start laughing and tell them that they might as well call the store manager or the police because there's about 100 beanies in the bag still with tags on it. They begin to freak out on me as they thought I had just stolen all the beanies...as they're sifting through and the manager comes up I chime in "oh and by the way, I work for Burton and these are for the program I coordinate in the city...would you like to call my boss? Jake Burton perhaps? Have a great day" and walk out. I hate when people power trip because some retail store gives them a plastic nametag and an hourly rate of $12/hr!!!

12/26/2009 5:29:50 PM So I've been riding with my Electric Eg2's with yellow chrome lens all season long. Since the start, I've been getting bad headaches every first bad fall of the day; at first I just thought it was because I was always riding hungover but I didn't drink at all yesterday. Now I'm unsure of if it's the goggles of the new headphones I've been using, but these headaches have been near debilitating. Previously I was using the skull candy ear buds but this year I'm using Icons which go over the ear. Has anyone had similar experiences? Those are the only two things that I've changed this season that could be potentially contributing to this.
12/23/2009 10:45:32 AM So as you all know, Friday night is a night for debauchery...Mike has recently informed us that everyone needs to prepare their drinking boots. So I figured it'd be fun to see who in fact will be the first to "decorate the walls" so to speak. I, personally, am going with myself or myself....only because I'll be flying in Friday morning and will have more than likely been coming off of a "rough night". With that being said...place your bets!
12/21/2009 11:17:18 AM Hey All, As many of you know I'm quite the advocate of non-traditional non-profit programs. For the past year I've been volunteering with Stoked Mentoring and now I'll be serving as a local coordinator for the Chill Foundation here in New York City. As amazing and well run as these programs are, they still need support from the action sports industry. That's where you all come in to help. I know that it may be a lot to ask but with the current state of the economy many supporters aren't able to offer us as much as they could before. If you could find it in the kindness of your heart to donate any spare apparel, boards, bindings, or accessories we would be incredibly grateful; we want to give as many children as possible the opportunity to enjoy in the sport that all of us love so much. If you are interested in supporting our causes please reach out to me and I will be able to give you more information on the programs and how you can help. Thank you in advance and Happy Holidays!!! - Keith
12/8/2009 3:17:23 PM Got the board and rode it once...don't know how big of a fan I am of reverse camber. If you're interested put out some offers and I'll decide this weekend.
