4/2/2012 4:08:53 PM So I just read a pretty interesting article about women in snowsports.  Mostly about the inequality women face in various ways in all kinds of sports, but mainly snowsports. I can see Spencers point.  At the same time there is a difference between men and women in so many ways.  I think until we see women doing the same tricks, getting as tech, and getting as much amplitude as the guys it'll be like that.   I think most of us would love to be able to board like a lot of the chic shredders out there, straight up so many of them really kill it.  They do stuff I could only dream of doing.  So I'm not doggin the ladies. I would much rather watch pro womens snowboarding than an amatuer comp because of the high level of ability.  It's kind of the same watching mens vs. womens.  Who's doing the bigger tricks?  That's what people watch.  I watch all the womens events they'll televise, but not everyone one does. Anyhow, I'm curious on you guys thoughts.   Here's a link to the article- http://www.spencerobrien.com/blog/the-ladies-tee-no-thank-you
2/26/2012 5:33:09 PM Having trouble ordering.  I get to the "do not hit refresh" screen, then plain white page with text of the shipping options.  I've tried it on a laptop, pc, and two other devices. They having site issues?  Anyone else have any issues like that? Or am I special?
2/1/2012 6:14:03 AM Wasn't sure if anyone had already started a thread on this.Anyone get hassled by the man just for being a snowboarder???We got pulled over yesterday for the boards on our car.  When I asked why he pulled me over he told me it was for something I hadn't done yet.  I wasn't speeding, wasn't swerving or doing anything illegal.  He said he pulled me over because I was riding towards the right side of my lane when he flew up at like 90 behind me.  He pulled out of his spot for something he hadn't yet seen me do.  WTF?  Of course it was just because we were boarders, the first question he asked was if we had an pot in the car.  And we did, one guy with his med card, one without.  Arrested the guy without a card, gave the other his pot back.  Now my buddy is going to have to drive 8 hours and pay a couple grand for having less than a half ounce on him.  Now we're all here at the mountain, still have about a half O to work with.  Damn cop, F-ed our whole week up.

9/3/2011 8:20:55 PM Anyone on here made or know anyone that's made a winch for "tow-in" riding?  I've seen wakeboarders have been doing it for a while, and seen some vids online with snowboarders doing it.  If anyone has made one, do you have any suggestions?  Any good links to how to build one?  Anyone come up with a fairly cheap way to make one? We've been thinking about building one, but haven't come up on the dough yet.
9/2/2011 4:44:45 AM If you're a facebook user make sure you like the Art of Flight profile.  They're unlocking videos from the movie by how many likes they get.  As of 9.2.11 they're about 1000 away from unlocking the first clip.  So make sure you go "like" them.  This movie looks soooo sick.    https://www.facebook.com/theartofflight?sk=app_202512873144300
7/18/2011 2:14:49 PM I couldn't afford a GoPro or Countour setup, so I cheaped and got a Kodak playsport and a universal helmet mount.   At first I was blown away by the picture quality, the camera itself seemed durable, the price was good.  I've had issues with it though, the most recent was the realization that it's not really waterproof as advertised.  Customer service says they might not cover the repair if they find "customer misuse",  which to me tells me they'll more than likely blame me for their faulty product.I'm just wondering what you guys are using?  How's the quality?  Price?  Any issues?  How's the customer service if there were problems?  Anyone have any problems with their GoPro?  The last posts I found on here were from a couple years back, thought I'd bring the topic back up.
3/10/2011 9:04:54 AM anyone in the s.e. michigan area looking to make a backyard park look no further. pm me and we can figure out how to make your backyard your favorite place. i can make drop in's, some features, and even set you up to make snow at home (when the weather is right).  we can even accomodate a year round setup.   i'd like to start making backyard parks so everyone can enjoy the winter as much as we did this past season.  pm me if anyone is interested.
2/20/2011 2:22:32 PM who else (other than Ride) is making all aluminum chasis?  i've heard that Rome makes some.  5150 used to a few years back.  but i haven't seen many bindings using it other than Ride, and their straps are crap (break to easy).  i really like the response i get out of my Rides, just don't like the cheap hardware.  anyone know who's makin' em?  or what plastic bindings are super firm?
2/2/2011 5:15:08 AM just curious.  when you put on your pants, is it you "lead" foot that goes in first? i put my right leg in first, i'm goofy foot.   trying to figure out if this is a was to determine newbies stances.  i've got ppl on boards for their first time and most have no idea what "foot" they are.  this may help if there's enough evidence for my theroy.
1/31/2011 1:39:45 PM hey, so the idea was put into another post to start this one- Where in the lower are the good backcountry spots?  stuff that can be hiked or sledded to. i know around the Wellston area off m-55 there's some good runs back in the woods. anyone else got a spot to share?
