||Sounds to me like you're just riding the board flat. You do that, you're bound to wipe out. Work the edges of your board, you should always been on an edge in the ice.

||Interesting video, but I don't think that it does the gopro justice. Honestly, I think it makes the gopro look like a pretty poor camera, when in reality I know it's not. It looked quite 'foggy'.

||I just got certified myself. I personally don't care for instructional classes, however the scuba diving class provided by PADI wasn't actually all that bad. We did a night of classroom instruction, then a night at the pool, then another night of classroom instruction, and another night at the pool. Then on the weekend we did our open dives in the ocean. I would say the most challenging part of the class is trying to breath from the regulator without your mask on. They have you remove your mask underwater and then put the mask back on, then you have to clear your mask of all the water. Some people had issues clearing the mask, but it's pretty easy if you pay attention. Remember the number one rule: Never hold your breath! Have fun!

||I live on Oahu currently.. I would definitely island hop if I were you. Oahu is VERY commercialized in the tourist Honolulu/Waikiki area of the island. If you do plan on staying on Oahu for a couple days there are a few things you should definitely do. Like someone else mentioned, snorkel Hanauma Bay. It's the best snorkeling on the island. If you want to surf while you're here, Waikiki is 'okay', but you will be dealing with TONS of tourist trying to surf there. There's a beach with good waves that is a little out of the way for tourists if you decide to get a rental car. The beach is called White Plains and it's about 20 minutes from Waikiki, which is most likely where you'll be staying. If you're looking for a good hotel in Waikiki, check out The Outrigger Reef. It's in the heart of Waikiki and the prices aren't horrendous. Also, Oahu has the famous North Shore. If you want to check that out, you'd probably need a rental car again. You won't find the massive waves in the summer though. It's still a nice drive with another area to snorkel called Shark's Cove. (There aren't any sharks) Right next to Shark's Cove is Waimea Bay where they have all the surf competitions, and it's just an overall nice beach to chill at. There's also a massive rock in the water there that a lot of people jump off of. Of course there's tons of hikes, with waterfalls and such.

|12/27/2010 11:38:21 AM
||Yeah, that's okay. If you can't have fun and be okay with looking dumb while doing it. Then you're not having fun.
