10/6/2013 6:06:26 PM Anyone got any more info on this board? Just picked one up in the same size and everything, pretty stoked to find that it is compatible with modern bindings and hardware even though it did come with the original binders.
10/4/2013 11:56:31 AM Yeee! I know milutinho, I was so surprised at how good the snow was up top. Also I feel like I owe it to Crystal to update my views on them. Obviously this event wasn't representative of your "every day" attitude here, but since there were so few people on the mountain you got to interact on a personal level with all the staff. They're all mellow and friendly people, and while skiing is clearly the dominant sport here no one was unaccepting or bad vibes directed towards me for boarding. Full disclaimer: it may have been the fact that they had a keg at the top of the gondola that won me over. Stevens is still the place to be, but Crystal is atleast on my radar now.
10/3/2013 12:03:47 AM And yes, it was shtooking awesome. Wish you all could have been there!
10/2/2013 11:21:08 PM Yep, first gondola too.

8/27/2013 10:58:34 PM Hey Trusnow! Got an interesting board here today that I'm looking to sell. You won't find this on any store shelves... that's for sure. Brand new (never even had bindings mounted) 2012/13 Lib Tech Skate Banana 156... and here's the interesting part... it's a Rockstar promo board! I figure there's no need to go into how great the Skate Banana is at this point, everyone knows how awesome these decks are... and if you don't then here's your opportunity to find out! Only looking to sell this board, no trades as I've already got an overflowing quiver. I've sold a ton of boards in the past here and have had nothing but happy buyers, I'll dig up some old threads if necessary to provide any potential buyers with some piece of mind. I only accept payment via paypal. Asking 300 shipped to your door for this rare pokemon. Regular skate bananas are going for right around that, and they are a dime a dozen. Plus as an added bonus this board just received a nice hot wax job by yours truly. For this price you will have a sweet deck that no one else on the hill will be rockin!
8/25/2013 11:01:05 PM Yup, give me a shout if you make it out here and want to do some riding. Best of luck with the move.
8/25/2013 7:53:10 PM And truthfully Stevens just isn't about park riding. If the park experience is what you're after, Snoqualmie has a high speed quad dedicated to their main park that will help you get a lot more laps in that you cab at Stevens. But I saw a leak from the homie that Stevens will be getting a few rope towes for some high speed lapping! Pretty stoked on that one, suck it Minnesota!
8/25/2013 7:49:31 PM This made me chuckle. Very true, the Brooks chair is older than a fossil and slow as shit. And you do have to nut up for that drop! But no locs ride that chair unless you're looking to take a break and smoke a blunt. It used to be if you wanted to lap the park you would take Skyline and have to take "the chutes" to get to the park, which can be pretty hairy on a hardpack day with some chunder. I've eaten shit multiple times on that one. This used to keep the park relatively clear of goons and children, but unfortunately they have now made it so you can get to the park directly from Skyline without having to take the chutes.
8/25/2013 1:49:52 PM Stat's definitely don't do the place justice. True there aren't any super long runs, but the terrain is what the place is about. I grew up riding here though so I may be a little bias. Check out this movie done by the local crew. It's long, but it will give you a pretty good idea of the vibe and the riding out here at Stevens. http://vimeo.com/54914617
8/25/2013 11:55:33 AM Big thing about riding here is that you've got to be ready to get out there within a day or two of a big dump. We sit right around freezing a good portion of the year, and when we get major dumps a lot of times temps will rise and turn that snow to rain or rain/snow mix that totally kills the powder feel. Get used to checking the weather religiously, and then understand that sometimes the magical NW gifts us pow even when the forecast says rain and temps are in the mid to upper 30's.
8/24/2013 8:04:57 PM Spenser has it right, Stevens is pretty much the place to be unless you want to go to baker. Snoqualmie is a glorified hill, alpental has some awesome terrain but to get there you've got to ride on the rickety old chair 2 where there's always a crazy and unorganized line on pow days. Crystal has great terrain but a terrible vibe. Totally ski oriented and trying to claim that "resort" status.
1/10/2012 4:33:33 PM Well that was a fun season! Decided to go check out Snoqualmie's park and ended up hurting my knee pretty badly coming down waaay too nose heavy off a lollipop tap. Hopefully the snow waits till later in the season to strike again...
12/31/2011 8:42:56 PM  Thanks spenser! It is definitely tough living in the NW sometimes, but all those rainy and concrete hardpack days melt away the second a storm like this rolls in. It's just cool too because you can feel the good vibes all around in the lift lines and everyone is sharing in the experience. I wish everyone was as friendly and outgoing as they are on a pow day! We ended up getting another 7" last night, and the clouds parted this morning revealing a much needed bluebird pow day. Many more high fives and pow slashes. Brought the gopro out today so I'll see how the shots turned out!
12/30/2011 11:01:50 PM Oh... my... god... Washington just popped off. My local resort (Stevens Pass) posted 12" overnight and the temps were around 26-28. We got MASSIVE rain on Wednesday, but in traditional PNW fashion Friday turned into one of those "epic" days. It was dumping light powder all day long and I heard the official number was 3" an hour for a few hours there. I can't even count the number of high fives I shared with complete strangers. Didn't bring the gopro out again, but I scoped out some lines that should be sweet so I'll bust that bad boy out tomorrow! And keep the faith the rest of you... snow will be coming your way soon enough!
