"Burton Method - Lightest Board Ever" 9/26/2009
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (17) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Method
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds
  • Pros:  Super Light, Crazy nice
  • Cons:  Expensive,

Experience:   I just picked up this burton method at a burton demo sale. It is by far the lightest board I have ever seen in my entire life. I also picked up a custom v-rocker and this burton method is atleast 50% of the weight. The top sheet cannot scratch as it is not made of plastic shiny stuff like typical boards. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet but i am really looking forward to it. It is a gorgeous board that turned a lot of heads as soon as I purchased it. Maybe I am actually going to sell it by virtue of it being a super advanced board, and I am beginner/intermediate. But i think it'll be a quiver killer for anybody that rides it. I'll update this review when I actually get to ride the board!

Comments & Questions

derek_twitch
you discribe yourself as a beginner but you ride a $1,500 board???

Carterrockz123
seriously a beginner or intermediate rider shouldnt ride this board

xX Burton Rid3r Xx
just because it is 1500 bucks doesnt make it "advanced" i find a custom x to be harder to ride than a vapor but yet its 500 bucks cheaper for 2010. Method is not extremely stiff, and the skill level all depends on personal preference, not price

"Good Starter set" 11/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Super Tune Snowboard Tune Kit
  • Pros:  iron is decent,
  • Cons:  wax is crap,

Experience:   Good iron and filing set, also comes with clear and black ptex, crap wax, brillo pad, a plastic and metal scrapper. Its not a bad starter kit imo. I'd recommend it to a friend. I'd also recommend this dakine iron over burton's iron because burton has 3 specific temperature gauges whereas dakine's can be set at any temp you wish.

Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Midweight Thermal Crew
  • Pros:  lightweight,
  • Cons:  graphics can come off,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  true to size, will stretch out a little

Experience:   So i purcahsed the all black version of this. The burton logo is printed on the front, which i think might actually wash out after a couple of washings. Not as nice as their AK stuff, thats for sure. If you don't mind the burton logo coming off, i'd say its a decent purchase for 11 bucks

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Emphasis
  • Pros:  Cheap, Waterproof,
  • Cons:  RN bandana design is ugly,

Experience:   I bought this RN bandana backpack for snowboarding. It is pretty freaking ugly, but it was cheap and looks like it will be waterproof. It is made out of a pretty thin material, but looks like it will be durable enough to snowboard with.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Ak Mid Layer Top
  • Pros:  warm,
  • Cons:  ugly,
  • Description:  DPM camo design

Experience:   just to add on. I purchased both the black and the camo desgin. For some reason i thought the camo design would be red, but it is imo a god awful green/yellow color. I am returning it back to sierra.
"I love My Vrocker <3" 12/14/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Custom V-Rocker
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Edge Hold, Loose,
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   This is the first rockerd board i have ever owned/ridden. I love this board from the minute I rode it on the slopes. A lot of people wrote that there was some getting used to of the rocker which I didn't feel at all. I was instantly comfortable on the board. This board also had great edge hold I thought. I think this is the only board I will ride from now on. A great addition to your quiver. It really is a lot of fun to ride.
"Awesome boots" 3/20/2009

  • Name: 2009 Burton Hail
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Warm, Waterproofing, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Hard to lace
  • Fit:  heel is snug

Experience:   These boots look sick!!! i also like the the little nike air type bubble at the bottom of these boots. There is significant flex when bending knees foward, so if you are looking for an all around firm boot, this might not be the right one for you. These are my first boots and I like them way more than the crap I rented.

  • Name: 2011 Burton Vapor Wide Snowboard - Men's

  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  light weight, edge hold,
  • Cons:  pricey,

Experience:   this is my favorite board out of the burton line up. I own the venerable custom x as well but this is my go to stick when i want to go fast. it is super stable holds an edge and has pretty sick graphics. i love this board!

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Mission
  • Pros:  Awesome,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   i like the toe strap on these the most. So much so i threw out the toe straps on my cartels and replaced them with the 09 toe straps from these bindings. These EST bindings were not compaitible with my 2011 custom x so please keep that in mind when purchasing.
"Decent Binding" 1/6/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Mission Snowboard Bindings Men's
  • Pros:  Responsive,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   This bindings are pretty good. I also own a pair of 2009 Cartels. I actually like the toe strap on the missions much more as they provide little or or no toe slippage. All in all a very responsive ride.
"Awesome board" 1/4/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Cheaper than Vrocker,

Experience:   This board is amazing for the price. I own a custom V-rocker and rode this board for the day. There is virtually no difference other than the ever so slight stiffness i felt (i felt that it was more stiff, maybe it wasn't broken in yet?) The graphics are sick as well. There isn't any reason why you wouldn't buy this board over a custom v-rocker or a Hero for that matter

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  Cheap, works,
  • Cons:  Hex Key is attached with Foam,

Experience:   The foam attachment for the hexkey is wack. The old one did not have one and instead the hexkey was built on the screwdriver itself. Overall i am very satisfied with this purchase! This tool comes with all the bits I need to successfully tighten everything on my board/bindings.
"its a Stiffy!" 12/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Custom X Wide Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds
  • Pros:  Super stiff, Light, Edge Hold
  • Cons:  not forgiving,

Experience:   This board is an aggressive monster, def stiffer than the vapor and custom vrocker i own. It is great for steeps and overall an awesome board. The graphics on the 2011 aren't as cool as the 2010 IMO. The board is just as light as my vapor as well.
"Large Field of Vision" 11/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2011 Electric EG2 Goggles Men's
  • Pros:  Large field of vision, good for big heads, did not fog on me

Experience:   Great goggles, albiet a little huge like other reviewers were saying. I won a pair of these at a competition last year and boy do these goggles have mad steeze. They are really big, and do not fit my RED helmet very well. If you are thinking about using this in tandem with a helmet, definitely try before you buy! In terms of clarity, they are on par with my oakley A-frames which is pretty amazing.
"Fits a little small" 11/8/2010

  • Pros:  will keep your bum from getting wet,
  • Cons:  fits small,
  • Pant Fit:  Too small
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  A little small

Experience:   So i bought these in a medium. I normally wear size 32/31 pants and these fit, but there isn't much room for much else, the legs fit baggy its just slimming in the waist.
"Good Scraper" 11/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Metal Scraper
  • Pros:  Scrapes!,

Experience:   This metal scraper came with my DaKine deluxe snowboarding wax kit. it does the job, perfect for getting ptex off your board or putting the finishing touches on your wax job. That beign said, do not just buy the metal scraper, you will need a plastic scraper for heavy wax jobs.

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Pyramid Studs Snowboard Stomp
  • Pros:  Will Stick, Can Design your own pattern,
  • Cons:  board must be clean before being applied,

Experience:   I have these on two of my boards. One board they stuck on fine and the other one they fell off. You need to follow the instructions carefully in order to insure proper adhesion. Your board must be clean before applying! Other than that these look really cool too

  • Name: 2010 Skullcandy FMJ
  • Pros:  looks cool,
  • Cons:  sound quality is lacking,

Experience:   As a selfproclaimed audophile i can honestly say that these headphones aren't that best. Especially if you can afford to drop 15 or 20 more you can get yourself some fully rich and full featured headphones. These are also pretty heavy so they fall out of my ears too.
"Beautiful" 11/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Supermodel Snowboard Women's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  beautiful board,

Experience:   I bought this for my fiancee as a birthday present last year... purely based on looks alone. I heard it rides really well and is medium flex normal camber board. But lets talk about what is really important to girls, the Looks. This thing is beautiful, staring at it, is like looking into a scene from the Never Ending Story. The falling leaves, the pink and green accents, it is by far the most beautiful board I have ever seen, and my girl loves it
"Awesome for some brews" 11/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Lil Buddy
  • Pros:  speakers, keeps brew cold,
  • Cons:  pricey for a water cooler,

Experience:   I like my lil buddy. I got this thing back in the good old 70% off SS days *tear* but anyways, this thing is awesome, it plays tunes and keeps your beer cold. The speakers don't get super loud or have any bass but you won't care after you pound your 5th brew.
"Oh Snap!! Break yo Self" 11/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Breaker Breaker Headband
  • Pros:  looks cool, warm,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • Description:  It stretches to fit your dome. Even if your head is the size of a watermelon

Experience:   This headband is larger than your average 80s style headband. This is not so much footloose as it is aspen lodge Its pretty nice and it can cover your ears if you so choose.
"Great Binding" 11/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Cartel EST
  • Pros:  Flexy, toe hold,
  • Cons:  none, doesn't feel as strong as last years,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I feel like burton has started cheaping out on bindings. I own 2009 and 2011 versions of the cartel and the 2009 versions I feel are much sturdier than the 2011 versions. That being said they are still very comfortable bindings. These are my go-to ride anything bindings. I wear size 10 hails with medium cartels. Fits perfectly.

"The lightest Board ever made" 11/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Method Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Superlight,
  • Cons:  Pricey,

Experience:   First off, this is the lightest board ever. If you hold this board up to the light, you can see through it, it is translucent. The board is pretty stiff in comparison to a lot of other boards I've owned, but not as stiff as my custom X. Additionally do not ride this board on rails or else you will cry once it shatters into a million pieces.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Vapor Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Park,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Light,
  • Cons:  Expensive,

Experience:   This board is pretty darn light! I own the 2010 board, this is an intermediate board with medium flex.. Not nearly as stiff as my custom X and not as flexy as my Custom Vrocker. You don't have to be an advanced rider to master this board. However, the price is not worth it.

  • Name: 2010 Oakley A Frame
  • Pros:  no fog, optics are sick,
  • Cons:  pricey,

Experience:   I own a pair of these A-frames with fire iridium lens.. they look sick, they have super clear optics.. and they do not fog.. ever! They do not scratch easily on the outside of the lens, but if the inside of the lens is very soft and easily scratched. I love these goggles

Experience:   Bought this for my fiancee. She loves the cupcake designs and it looks cute too. The thermal has finger holes so you can stick your thumb through them if you are cold. She is an extra small petite asian girl 5'5 at 105lbs and this fit her perfectly as a size XS.

Experience:   Didn't get a chance to ride this through pow, but I did get to run it on some groomed runs. It held up pretty nicely. A decently fun board. I can't wait to try it on the Pow. the tip def points upwards so i know it'll ride the POW well.

  • Name: 2008 Burton Un Inc
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Park,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Great Board, Great Edge Hold, Cheap
  • Cons:  Graphics are not for everyone,

Experience:   One of the most revered/legendary boards in Burton's arsenal. I rode one of these two years ago when I first started out. This boy rides very similar to a Burton Custom in my opinion. Some people really dig the 1980s styled graphic, I personally didn't which is why I went with a different board, but this is pretty sick overall. Has a little more flex and pop to it from what I remember. This is def a killer board to add to your quiver. MEOW!

Experience:   I demo'd this board this last weekend. Board is very playful and very flexy. It felt less stiff than my vrocker. IT is a fun board to just cruise all over the mountain with. I think this would make a great beginner board as well. The graphics on the limited are really sick too!

Experience:   This are warm to luke warm at best. Not piping hot like i was hoping for. I put these inside my gloves sometimes to keep my hands for freezing over. They do a semi decent job at that. Overall they will not keep u alive if you are out in the wilderness and looking for something warm. This is no substitute for sitting next to a warm fire. haha, at best it is like holding 95 degree farenheit water in a tea cup in your hands.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Zoom 28L
  • Pros:  Cheap, Secure,
  • Cons:  little heavy but not bad,

Experience:   This is an awesome bag. Definitely worth $40 bucks. Excellent comfy shoulder straps, my camera feels super secure. This bag can fit a 40D with a 70-200L lens + a 24-105L lens on the side. I stuff the 70-200L, 25-105L, 50 f/1.4. remotes, and my flash all in this bag. This is probably the only SLR bag that you will ever need. I also like the fact that this thing doesnt scream CAMERA BAG like a lowepro will. Thus making this one of the best backpacks to travel with. I also own a Da Kine Sequence bag which is also great.

Experience:   This is an average thermal. Not made of drywick material. I thought the green design of the soba that i purchased was jsut average. It was not super thin which is nice. IMO this thermal is definitly not as nice as the burton thermals, but does a decent job of keeping you warm.

Experience:   I liked these thermals. They were cheap. However, they were not made of drywicking material like under armour/burton thermals. Experience:   These thermals are super thick. Material is more fleece like than anything else. Made of microbial material, these pants will keep you warm. They have the little peeing slit, which is kind of convenient i guess. It felt a little small on me. I am a size 31 pants and weight 184lbs. I bought a size large.

  • Cons:  comes already detuned ,

Experience:   I bought my girl this board to learn on. The p-rocker shape def helps her confidence in learning how to carve. I saw her progression on the first day on it and she was able to leaf relatively fast on it. The graphics on the top sheet in my opinion will not attract females to it. She def did not catch edge as often as she did on the LTR boards. I would recommend this board for those looking for a cheaper entry level rockered baord

  • Cons:  Squirrley but that is with all rockered style,

Experience:   Very fun board. I already owned a custom-V and my best friend bought the joystick. Sick ride.. feels very similar to the Custom-V. Slightly less flexy in my opinon (could be due to difference in size.. my custom v is a 59 and his joystick is a 57) Held edge well. Overall an excellent ride to anybody's quiver.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Player Hooded Full Zip Womens Thermal Top
  • Pros:  cheap,
  • Cons:  bottom fits funny,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  XS
  • Description:  form fitting, bunches at the bottom

Experience:   bought two of these for my fiancee, one white, one banana. She is petite, usually fitting into a XS (she is size 0). The top fit well, the bottom of bunched a little, even when you try to pull it down. I think if you have a big ass it might be okay. Def,not warm enough to be a thermal, this is more for layering or hanging out in the lounge.

Experience:   i am super bummed. I tried to purchase both a medium and a large. in my basket and must have only purchased large. someone probably bought it while it was in my check out. So im a pretty hefty guy 190 lbs size 32 waist 5'10 and the large is gigantic. You need to be a serious fat ass to fit the large. Im sad i am going to have to return this. It really is super comfortable.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Wheelie Cargo Luggage Bag
  • Pros:  Looks sturdy, Good for weekends, dual compartments
  • Cons:  extendable handle is flimsy,

Experience:   Just received this bad boy today. For 60 bucks, this thing is super nice. The material looks extremely durable like it won't rip. The middle zips opens to reveal a mesh lining separator to separate your boots or whatever you want to stick in. The bottom level also has a removable liner. The side of the lugguage has an id card flap which is cool. Also comes with a pocket at the top which could probably fit your goggles. I'll probably use this for my weekend trips. It can fit probably all your snowboarding clothes ie thick jacket + pants + thermals + gloves + helmet at the top level and your boots on the bottom. Also, the extendable handle thing is a little flimsy, but i think it will do the job just fine. I think it was an excellent buy.

Experience:   So I bought the silk jacket in medium. i'm 5'10 205 lbs. Jacket is a little short (maybe my torso is too long?) Also, in the picture the brown squares look like they are light borwn, but in fact they are dark brown. Also, the white isn't this super bright white. Its just normal almost like egg shell white. Also there is almost like a thermal layer in the sleeves that come with thumbholes which is a nice touch. Also this jacket looks pretty warm. Not bluster cold warm but warm enough on rainy days and the such.

Experience:   There wasn't a sizing chart so I decided to buy the XL for $35 given sierrasnowboards excellent return policy. I am a 5'10 with size 36 waist. The shorts run a little to long for me, therefore i don't know if it will protect me properly. However, if you are much taller I think that these will be beneficial for you. the XL size fits my 36 waist perfectly, with a slight bit of room.
