"Great pack for on and off the mountain." 8/26/2009
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Paradise
  • Pros:  Sick bag all around. Bought it in the cruise colourway and the design is super retro awesomeness. Vertical board carry does what it says no problem, and I like how low profile it is, so it's out of my way during boarding and doesn't throw off my balance like bigger bags do. Fleece lined goggle pocket is also a plus. I use it as a laptop bag off the mountain.
  • Cons:  straps are a bit tight at the top... but it's not a big deal. The bag also seems pretty durable, but the material seems a bit cheap (although not enough to worry me about breaking).

Experience:
"Syndicated " 4/29/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 686 ACC Syndicate
  • Pros:  Breathable, Warm, Waterproof
  • Description:  WEATHER: Spring Day, Blue Bird Powder Day, Cloudy and Cold, Cold and Blustery Day, Snow and Rain Mixed, CHEST: Feels true to size, BODY: Feels true to length, INSEAM: Feels too long,

Experience:   First off, let me say that this is a great looking jacket! I picked it up in the dark brown/ caramel color and it's definitely a very nice shade. The jacket also has tons of pockets... all with big zippers so it's pretty easy to get to if you you're wearing medium or thin gloves. The MP3 player pocket is a nice touch as well. I can fit my iPhone in there in it's case and also use the controls through the window. I also really like the pass holder in the cuff of the sleeve. On the negative side, this jacket is WAAAY huge. I guess I don't normally prescribe to the whole baggy snowboarder look, but I'm 5'9 and 130 lbs, so I grabbed a small but I'm still drowning in the thing. Second, the lining in the interior of the jacket feels a little cheap and seems like it'll get pilly really easily. All in all it's a great looking jacket. A little thin for cold days so make sure you layer it up!
"Capita Horrorscope FK Review" 8/26/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Capita Horrorscope FK
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Rails
  • Pros:  lightweight, Popular model, Soft, Well known brand

Experience:   Love the board. It's a super noodle (just like everyone else says) and is really fun to mess around with. The whole flat kick technology is supposed to make snowboarding feel a little more skaterish, which is awesome. Make of the board also feels solid and durable, although I haven't taken it up to the mountain yet to test it. It's my jibbing board, so I don' t really anticipate taking it down the steeps and deeps. Oh, and of course the graphics on the board are second to none in my opinion! Fantastic.
"Soft, cushy, and great adjustability!" 7/1/2009

  • Name: 2009 Union Contact
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   Really like these bindings overall. Flexy Highback and cushy padding makes for a great park binding. It also rides fine on groomers (but what binding wouldn't?), but I think I'd have a little trouble with them on the steeps and deeps. Love the construction of these little guys. Adjustability is awesome, and the padding process to reduce binding-to-board conact is pretty sweet. I've heard that the bindings have problems with screws loosening up, but I haven't experienced that so far. For reference, I wear a size 9.5/10 boot and they fit in the medium/larges perfectly.
"Good Stuff" 5/1/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Board Sleeve
  • Pros:  Lightweight, hide-away backpack straps, great for car rides and carrying your board around the resort.
  • Cons:  it's expensive if you're paying full price and I wouldn't use it anywhere else beside you're car (no to planes and probably not even on a bus)

Experience:   Picked this up from sierra for a wicked 70% off and you couldn't ask for a better deal! I normally my board in the back seat of my car and drive up to the mountain, so this is perfect for protecting my (p)leather seats those sharp snowboard edges. It says you can fit 2 boards (with unmounted bindings) but I only have one right now so I can't test that... but it seems like there's enough extra space to do so. I ride a 153 board and bought a 140 bag size and it stretches to fit over it easy with space still left over.
"Fun and Comfy Socks!" 4/29/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Emblem
  • Pros:  Awesome designs, warm, thick, comfy, great great deal at 70% off!
  • Cons:  It sort of seems like they'll wear out after a season or so. Stock up!

Experience:   Awesome socks! I picked up the army knife and swamp thing designs and they're definitely eye-catching!
"Simple and Clean" 4/29/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 686 Times Levi''s Engineered
  • Pros:  Breathable, Lightweight
  • Cons:  Not Enough Pockets or Features
  • Description:  WEATHER: Spring Day, Cloudy and Cold, Cold and Blustery Day, Snow and Rain Mixed, Sleet, Storming and White Out, LEG: Baggy, WAIST: Feels true to size, INSEAM: Feels true to length,

Experience:   Definitely a sick looking pair of pants. They're a pretty simple design, meant to obviously look like a pair of jeans but I wouldn't mistake them for that on the mountain. They still look like a pair of snowboarding pants. I really like the fit. They're not too baggy or super tight. There's not too many pockets on these guys compared to some other pants, but I don't mind. Front and back pockets have zippers, but for some reason the leg pocket is just a button with some velcro. The back pocket's zipper also feels a bit too small compared to the rest of the pocket.... my wallet barely fits in there. I'm a pretty slim guy, with a waist 29 and 120 lbs... and the small was slightly too big for me. I definitely have to wear a belt with these pants. Oh and they're also a little thin, be sure to get a pair of thermals under these guys on cold days.

  • Name: 2004 Burton Clash
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Carving,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Durable, Easy to carve, Popular model, Great value, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Top sheet scratches, Sluggish

Experience:   This was my first board way back when.. and now it's finally dead. It was a true faithful to all my noobish abuse that I put it through. RIP. Clash is a solid board to learn to ride on.
"Great gloves" 4/15/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton AK Tech
  • Pros:  These are some generally well made gloves. Leather is nice and soft in the palm and the lining is also soft and warm. I didn't get my hands wet from the snow in all the spring slush (but they did sweat a little hah!). Simple, clean glove.
  • Cons:  A little too thick for spring conditions, but probably too thin to bring out in the dead of winter.

Experience:
"Quality you can feel" 4/15/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Union Force
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Durable, Good construction quality, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   Love the bindings overall. While I've only done a couple of runs down the slopes with them, they're definitely a huge step up from the old Burton sycnros I was rocking since '04. I love the quality that goes into the construction of these guys... they just feel solid! Also liked tinkering around with the adjustments. It's a bit tricky for the first few seconds, but easy as pie afterward. Awesome bindings!
