"push THIS" 10/11/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Rome Pusher Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Jibs,Jumps,Off Trail,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  poppy, stable, not-too buttery

Experience:   Rome took the tech from the Agent, blended it with the Mod's shape and presto, out came the pusher. This is the ultimate jump lovers board. I didn't want to give it back when I demoed it. I'm absolutely in love with this board. It pops beautifully off hips, stomps out smooth off booters. If you love to jump, you'll love the Pusher. It's great for jibs too. But very similar to the postermania- and that board I preferred on boxes when I demoed both.
"2 vies, Fuse kicks" 8/9/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Smith Fuse
  • Pros:  2 lenses is awesome, killer style
  • Cons:  I'm not a huge fan of the the clip in the back... can make helmet clip-in awkward

Experience:   sweet deal
"DC Ace '10" 1/19/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 DC Ace Snowboard Pants Women's
  • Pros:  length, comfortable, stylish
  • Cons:  lack of pockets, low waterproofing,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L

Experience:   I bought these pants last season and really like them. I'm tall and often have a hard time finding pants that are long enough, but the '10 DC Ace are a great length! For those who are shorter, they length of the pants can be adjusted using a bungee system that is hidden inside the pockets! The cut and style is flattering and allows for great movement while riding. The sag straps (suspenders) are removable so you can choose to rock them or leave them at home if they're not your style.
"'11 Subzero" 1/3/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Nitro Sub Zero Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,High Speeds,Jibs,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  gullwing camber, soft flex w/lots of pop, versitile

Experience:   The Nitro subzero is an amazing all-around snowboard. You'll notice the versatility of this board quickly once you are on it. The soft flex does not chatter with high speeds. Tail/Nose pop was also not sacrificed here. The board is soft but the hybrid gullwing camber give you the edge control, stability and pop we all love (but often can't find in very soft decks). The subzero is not only a TON of fun in the park, but it also ride smooth in powder. I'd say that anyone who is already comfortable with freestyle but still wants to push their game from intermediate to advanced, THIS is the snowboard for you. I currently ride this deck with 2011 Raiden Zero bindings and I think the combination is awesome! Board with the most similar feel: NeverSummer Evo-R
"k2 uprise" 12/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2011 K2 Uprise Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  angled foot beds, shock absorbing,
  • Cons:  no toe ratchet , strange in/out,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   I demoed these bindings at a '11 line on-snow demo last January. Once on and properly adjusted, the bindings were great. I have bad knees, so the angled foot beds helped take some of the pressure off my knees while riding and also helped me feel a bit more control over boards with reverse camber (which I was also demoing for the first time that day). The idea is that you are to adjust your toe strap at the the start of the day and then twist your foot into place each time you get off the lift. Personally, I like to ratchet my bindings pretty tight and with this system I felt like I couldn't do so without sitting down and totally readjusting my toe strap...which was time consuming. If you're thinking about these bindings I highly recommend you try to demo these bindings first. If you don't mind the unique in/out, then you'll love them.

Why give it only two stars if you only demoed the binding and think there akward to adjust at first, once you get them dialed in there awesome!

"2011 pro" 10/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Union Contact Pro
  • Pros:  light weight, responsive, minimalist
  • Cons:  toe strap,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I had a chance to do a few short runs in these bindings and in contrast to what I've heard many people say, I did not like them. I was wearing boots with a very rounded toe and the toe strap would not stay in place--unless I cranked it down so hard that it pinched my toes. Very responsive binding for being of such minimal design. High back has perfect blend of flex and responsiveness. I wonder if I wore a boot with a better toe seam if these would be as great as other reviews say they would be.
"like a boss" 10/11/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Rome 390 Boss Snowboard Bindings Men's
  • Pros:  cant base plates, comfort straps, snug toe strap
  • Cons:  base plate difficult to remove,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   these bindings are amazing. I demoed them on snow early in the year and fell in love. I was a huge fan of the 2010 390, but this year Rome got it right. The toe strap no longer causes the weird dimpling near the pinky toe that it did before and the interchangable base plate angle make control on reverse camber SO much better. The comfort ankle and snug fit toe straps make this binding incredibly responsive. The only down side to the binding is that the base plates are kind of hard to remove. So if you're going to use these bindings on more than one board, or need to tighten the screws to your board, it's an extra few seconds... no biggie though.
"tool belt" 3/14/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 686 Crypt Snow Tool
  • Pros:  design, useful,
  • Cons:  sizing,

Experience:   686 belt is STEEZY. I stole my buddy's for about a month til he finally stole it back, I definitely want my own now. So sweet, but as the other reviewer said- the sizing is unclear.
"warm as you make it" 12/8/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton AK Static 3L GoreTex Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  stylish, non-centered zipper, pockets
  • Cons:  no wrist gaters, thin,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  fits as it should

Experience:   This jacket is supposed to be one of the warmest on the market for a non-puffy... but what I found was that what it really does is keeps my body heat IN. When I first walk outside I immediately feel the cold and the INCREDIBLY thin jacket doesn't feel like it's going to do much for me... only once I really start moving do I realize how warm this jacket is-- it seems like it's just not very breathable...so it does get VERY hot!
"folsom '10" 9/19/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome Folsom Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  warm, comfortable,
  • Cons:  stiff, may be narrow,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   I wore 2010 Rome mens boots last spring. The Folsom as a bit too stiff for me...but some people really like a stiff boot. Also, after long days of riding my pinky toe really started to hurt. Since women's feet tend to be narrower than men's, this boot might feel narrow to others. Also, the lace for one of my liners broke the 3rd day I wore the boots. Rome will replace that though. I sold them to another sierra member.
"snug & responsive" 9/19/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome 390
  • Pros:  responsive, perfect fit toe strap, gel ankle strap
  • Cons:  heavy,
  • Flex:  stiff

Experience:   This binding is AMAZINGLY responsive. I loved it in Pow! If you're into park, the metal combo may be too heavy for your tastes. But Free Ride or All Mountain, this binding is sick.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Lil Buddy Cooler
  • Pros:  cool in so many ways,
  • Cons:  idk,

Experience:   I won this lil bad boy at a fund raiser dinner with CHILL.org ...somebody ganked my speakers out, but it's still a sick little cooler to toss in the back of the car with the rest of my gear

  • Name: 2009 Burton Sapphire Womens
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Durable, Good quality, Warm, Waterproofing, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Difficult in & out
  • Fit:  average

Experience:   Ugliest color ever but that's why I love them... and they come in MY SIZE!! I'd been wearing guys boots, but burton's 11 is amazing and fits PERFECTLY! I'm so happy with these boots.
"Neff Daily" 2/24/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Neff Daily Pipe Snowboard Gloves Men's
  • Pros:  grippy, colorful, warm when wet
  • Cons:  not insulated, no room for wrist guards,

Experience:   These neoprene gloves are amazing. First off, they have SO much palm grip there is no way your grabs can slip...and I drop my phone way less ;-) They are a thinner glove and at first I was hesitant because my hands get really cold easily. But they are made of wetsuit-like neoprene, so even if your hands are getting wet, they don't get really cold. On really cold days I can wear them as a liner glove inside some mittens and I'm toasty. Personally I wear these on days when temps are going to be at or above 30 and they have not let me down yet. I love them! If you're looking for a simple, efficient, inexpensive and versitle glove. The Neff Daily is for you!
"classic flop" 2/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Reef Lily Sandals Women's
  • Pros:  comfortable, 6 month warranty, go with everything

Experience:   I go through a pair of these every year. I love them!! They're very comfortable and actually mold to the shape of your foot. However, if you wear your flipflops year-round like I usually do (at least, when it's not currently snowing or slushy out) then they do become pancakes after about 6 months. I've never had a pair break and it took me about 15 months to wear out a pair entirely til I got a hole under my heel. They are available in all sorts of colors... unlike Rainbow's leather sandles, you can get these wet and they will dry out without ruining your flops!! Best beach sandle brand around.
"Reef Fanning" 2/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Reef Fanning Sandals Men's
  • Pros:  comfortble, stylish, durable

Experience:   Reef sandles are by far my favorite. They actually come with a 6 month waranty so if for some reason they break, Reef will replace them...but I've never had that happen. The Fanning is extra comfortable with the cushioned soul. I think the bottle openner is hillarious, however I've never used mine as I never know where I have stepped and I don't have any desire to open a bottle with the bottom of my shoe. Flipflop tan lines are a must in summer =)
"spy soldier" 2/7/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Spy Soldier
  • Pros:  durable, helmet compatible,
  • Cons:  narrow bridge,

Experience:   Soldiers were one of my first pair of goggles. I got them on sale for a great price and they fit well with the RED helmet I was wearing at the time. They never fogged up on me. One thing I didn't like about them was that they were kind of tight on the bridge of my nose, but I get this from a lot of goggles because my nose isn't small :) Definitely a good google that can take a beating.
"Stiff Ride" 2/3/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Rossignol Sultan Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Chop,Crud,Groomers,High Speeds,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Stable at high speeds, Poppy,
  • Cons:  STIFF,

Experience:   I learned to snowboard on this board. It's a very stiff directional. The board was too big for me, but once I learned to handle it, it did very well on the icy hills of the midwest. If you're looking for an inexpensive board with lots of pop, that can carve hard on icy groomers and chop, you'll have fun with the Sultan.
"full metal jacket" 1/4/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket Earbuds w/ Mic
  • Pros:  great balance, stylish, phone answer button w/mic
  • Cons:  no mute, sound reduction,

Experience:   I picked up a pair of these recently and I love the sound quality. They stay put and I can rock out while riding! On the down side, this style of ear bud acts like an ear plug and completely mutes out anyone trying to talk to me (or hearing newbs bombing down behind me) so I have to remove one anytime I'm going up the lift so I can hear my friends. They sound great and on days when I'm riding by myself, they're perfect. If you play music off of your phone, there is a phone answer button with microphone on the wire which is convenient.
"Parkstar '11" 12/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 K2 Parkstar Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  midflex, poppy tail, stable at high speeds

Experience:   I've ridden this board a few times now and I like it a lot. I love K2's flat boards. The parkstar has about 20% rocker outside the bindings. This flat to rocker hybrid makes this board incredibly versatile and fun. It holds well in icy conditions and the gentle rocker is great when you find some powder. No tail pop was sacrificed with this board either. I loved it on kickers and rails. I'd recommend this board to anyone looking to learn and progress in park as well as intermediate riders who want to up their game.
"390x11" 10/17/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Rome 390 Snowboard Bindings Men's
  • Pros:  responsive, comfortable, durable
  • Cons:  base plate,

Experience:   The 2011 I will rave about just as much as I did the 2010. With the 2010 390 I had a weird dimple over my baby toe when I wrenched the strap down tight, but the 2011 doesn't do this!! This binding is amazingly responsive, comfortable, and can totally take a beating. The only down side is that the base plates are stubborn when you need to remove them and tighten your screws, but otherwise these are the best bindings out there imo =)
"postermania 2011" 10/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Rome Postermania Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Off Trail,Park,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  buttery, stable, versitile
  • Cons:  felt wide,

Experience:   The 2011 Postermania is a SUPER fun board. Hot laps in the park, hitting natural features off trail and playing around on the groomers, it is no disappointment. I liked this board a lot but, it could have just been me, but it felt like the nose&tail were really wide. It was just a really different feel after riding the Pusher just before it. The board is a whole lot of fun and makes jibbing smooth and buttering a cake walk.
"libertine" 10/11/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome Libertine Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  soft, supportive, stylish
  • Cons:  wide-ish, heel lift,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   as a woman wearing mens boots I LOVED THESE! They were amazingly comfortable and exactly my taste when it comes to a soft-flex. However, I found that the self-molding lining did pack out rather quickly making the boot fit big on me and giving me a lot of heel lift. I know I have narrower heels than men, but I did need to put in J-bars to make up for the excess room. I loved these and I would buy them smaller the next time arround (I had a 9.5 and I should have gotten a 9)
"Fresh is Phresh" 4/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sessions Fresh Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  long, lots of pockets, style + function
  • Cons:  built-in mitten, narrow hip,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too small
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  great overall, but narrow in the hips

Experience:   I ordered this jacket excited about the extra length. It DOES fit me perfectly but I ordered the XL (and I usually wear L jackets) to have some extra movement... I was surprised that with the extra length there didn't seem to be any more hip room and I'm glad I ordered the XL (I'm pretty sure in the L I wouldn't be able to stand at my normal width w/o it bunching up). If you don't have a wide stance, or you have narrow hips, this won't be an issue. The jacket is stylish. I LOVE the color and it's totally comfy. The built in mittens are a little strange and I'm concerned that the velcrow that holds them down when not in use could come loose (with a few minutes of craftsmanship I'm fastening snaps inside the sleeves to help prevent this from happening). Overall, I'm happy with this jacket. Finally a womens jacket that's long enough for both my height/arm length as well as personal style preference =)

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Sequoia Snowboard Mitts Women's
  • Pros:  WARM, liner mitten, wrist straps
  • Cons:  maybe too warm?,

Experience:   I love these mittens. I got them at the beginning of the season from the rep who needed to clear out his old stock and I LOVE THEM. I have another pair of Dakine mittens in goretex, but these are just as waterproof... just not as breathable. They get REALLY warm when hiking so I def had to pull them off a lot.

  • Description:  too short

Experience:   super cute hoodie, but when I tried it on, the body fit great, but i think it's made for a person with a super short torso-- and obviously not anyone tall with long arms. I couldn't put my thumbs in the holes because the arms were way too short

  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  arms weren't as long as I'd like them to be

Experience:   I borrowed this midlayer from a friend because it looked cool... but I found that it didn't dry very fast. although it kept me warm, I didn't like that I could feel the sweat on my back from hiking the park while I was freeriding later in the day.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Red Pure Womens
  • Pros:  low profile, color, fit
  • Cons:  not well vented, hot,

Experience:   I tried this helmet for a day and didn't like it-- I was hiking a feature in the park and I got INSANELY hot. The helmet doesn't have much venting. If you're chillin on groomers and tend to take it easy out there, it's a great noggin cover... but if you ride hard, it's nice to have more vents for heat to escape

  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   as far as a binding goes... you get what you pay for. I found out the hard way and picked them up early in the season as I was just getting into the sport, quickly discovered that they really weren't much of a step up from my 5150 clickers...the next tier of bindings is well worth the extra money.

  • Use:  Butters,Halfpipe,Jibs,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  flexy, poppy,
  • Cons:  very soft, chatters at high speed,

Experience:   Great advanced womens park board. MFR wouldn't ride it if it wasn't great. It was too soft for me. I felt every bump in the icey midwest snow and just wasn't comfortable on it. I don't like noodly boards and I felt like the lofi was all flexy bendy which made me dislike it.

Experience:   with bindings, you get what you pay for... burton stepped it up in 09 putting the cap toe strap on the freestyles, but they're still a bottom-of-the-line binder.

Experience:   Great jacket that can be worn on blue bird days or when the windchill is some crazy negative number you don't even wanna think about. I love that the fit of this jacket isn't too baggy, but with the shape of the sig fit, length of the body&arms were not sacrificed :-)

  • Use:  Boxes,Carving,Groomers,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  lightweight, poppy, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Sluggish

Experience:   Great for progressing beg/int riders looking to advance. Kind of a soft board but still has decent pop. The almost-twin makes learning switch easy and it's fun going over rollers and small kickers. Gets a bit shaky with speed and is sluggish in wet snow. Fun board though and great for experimenting/learning park!!
