"Burton Sapphire Womens Snowboard Boots 2010" 10/6/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Sapphire Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  good fit, look good,
  • Cons:  toe stitching has come undone,

Experience:   Further to my initial review, my daughter has now used these boots for one season. The boots have performed well, but it is disappointing that the toe sticthing on both boots has come undone and hence the outer coverings on the toe section of both boots has delaminated.
"An Awesome All-rounder" 2/18/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Armada TST Skis Men's
  • Pros:  Great in all conditions,

Experience:   The TST is one of those skis that seemingly can do everything. The narrow-wide-narrower-wide shape of the ski, tip rocker and cambered tail all combine to allow this 14m turn radius ski (183cm length) to carve turns on the groomers as easily as chopping through crud, and floating through the deep stuff. This (relatively) light ski is overall one of the most versatile skis I have ever been on. Definitely more versatile than the JJ

"Smith Prophecy goggle" 2/14/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Smith Prophecy Goggles
  • Pros:  Great Fit,
  • Cons:  changing lenses - need to be careful,

Experience:   I recently purchased this google and used it for a week in Hokkaido Japan. Snowing / Blizzard every day and this google handled the snow really well. I also wear the Smith Vantage helmet and these two items fit together really well.
"Giro G10" 4/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Giro G10 Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Warm, Good ventilation

Experience:   Wearing the G10 is never an issue. It is comfortable and warm, and you don't really even think about it after the first run. The ventilation settings are also useful on those warmer days
"Volkl Mantra" 4/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Volkl Mantra
  • Pros:  versatile / flexible, stable,
  • Cons:  nil,

Experience:   I bought a pair of mantras and was fortunate enough to use them for 10 days skiing at Jackson Hole this past January. Plenty of people told me these skis were good and so they had a reputation to live up to. I am happy to report these skis passed with flying colors in almost all conditions. They were really great on those fortunate mornings when we had had twelve inches of new snow over night. They went even better on the day we hired a guide and went back country for a day of skiing waist deep untracked. The mantras are also usable and very stable on groomed runs, but they become hard work and if that is your scene, then these skis will be to wide underfoot. I fitted my mantras with some back country Marker bindings, but didn't get a chance to use them with skins yet, but that is firmly on the agenda for the Aussie winter to come..
"Tecnica Dragon 120" 4/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Tecnica Dragon 120
  • Pros:  Flex just right,

Experience:   I am an aggressive expert skier but and went for the Tecnica Dragon 100 because I wanted to move away from stiffer race boots. I doubt very much that those boots are a true 100 Flex. Also, the liner has definitely been made with comfort in mind, and does offer the level of support it should. After using those boots for 5 days skiing, I contacted the store that sold them to me and expressed my concerns. They gave me the 120 Flex version and they are much better. The Dragon 120 boots are what I was looking for in the first place - a ski boot that can be skied hard all day, every day, without causing you any serious discomfort. These boots are rated 120 Flex, but to me it feels like a very forgiving 120 Flex.
"Marker Griffon" 4/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Marker Griffon
  • Pros:  Neat compact unit, Reliable, Easy entry
  • Cons:  Needs a wide ski, 12 DIN means lighter skier,

Experience:   My teenage son has been using these bindings on his Volkl park skis for last season and they have worked very well. His skis are trashed, but the bindings have survived very well and will migrate to this year's purchase.

"Dalbello Il Moro" 4/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dalbello Krypton Il Moro I.D
  • Pros:  very versatile, stiffness provides great control, Easy to put on and adjust
  • Cons:  Boot is a narrow fit, Boot is better suited to experienced skier,

Experience:   I have skied with this boot for two winters now and it does well what it is designed for. I have found it more comfortable to use on new snow days and for off piste skiing. You get additional components when you buy the boot that can be substituted eg the tongue, but most of these items further stiffen the boot and I have found it plenty stiff enough straight out of the box. Putting the boot on and tightening the buckles are bot easy with this design. I have other boots that I use for other types of skiing, but when you want have some fun, these boots are the ones to use.
