"Wheelie gig" 8/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  it works....kinda,
  • Cons:  wheels fell off, front pocket not lockable,

Experience:   First time used this was japan trip, as you need to go up and down stairs alot the luggage takes a pounding. The wheels came off, had to get an allen key tool to fix it up. Front pocket can not be locked, so use at your own risk for airplane flight. The top and bottom is tapered, so you cant really fit much into the ends. And to top things off the bottom got cut from board rubbing against it, so now the bottom of the bag is exposed, cant use it again after one use. Never touching Burton luggage again. talked to the rep about warranty for the rip, he told me to get a better bag....i told him ill get a better brand!
"Monaco Beanie" 5/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Sessions Monaco
  • Pros:  Cheap, Warm,
  • Cons:  does not fit under my helmet,
  • Fit:  Too small
  • Description:  Snug

Experience:   Warm snug fit beanie. Feels alil too snug when i first put it on but it wears in quite nicely. Material is abit too thick to fit properly under my low profile helmet (red mutiny)
"the omen" 1/3/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2008 Giro Omen Audio Series
  • Pros:  Very well ventilated, make and receive calls , wireless headphones
  • Cons:  tuneups are slightly bulky, Battery life short but expected, Pricy

Experience:   I upgraded from Red Mutiny helmet to this because i needed more ventilation on my helmet to suit the warm aussie conditions. Another reason for upgrade is for the tune ups kit. The bluetooth does take some fiddling to setup but once its setup....easy to use music all day and it doubles as phone headset so can make and receive calls too all without taking helmet or gloves off! Battery would not last longer than one day use however but that is expected. Helmet has no problems fitting my crowbar goggles.
"The Caddy" 12/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Ogio Caddy Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  sturdy exterior, well padded, Loads of space
  • Cons:  slight issues with the roller, no seperate section for boots,

Experience:   Believe this bag was designed for skiers in mind as i do not know any board that goes up to 2 metres.Does all the things you expect out of a good roller gear bag. well built and sturdy, padded interior and smooth roller. Strap down inside bag stops your board from moving about in travel. I could pack (quite easily)Board/bindings/boots/2 jackets/2 pants/helmet/goggles/gloves/hydration pack with room to spare. Issue with the roller is the wheels do not extrude enough for my liking so you cant roll at certain angle.
"not great but ok" 10/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009
  • Pros:  looks good, compact,
  • Cons:  breaks too easily,

Experience:   Sound from the headset is fine for boarding, i used it for running and cycling before first snowboarding trip. it does feel like it pinches abit after awhile but nothing really terrible. First trip i took it on, my mate snapped the headband clean while trying to extend ear pieces to fit over his head. he thought it was like those normal headphones where you can bend the headbands quite abit but the fact it broke so easily is a real design flaw. would not buy these foldable type headphones again

"Dakine Torque tool" 8/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Torque Driver Tool
  • Pros:  Small, ratchet tool,

Experience:   handy torque tool to bring up on the mountain. Small enough to fit into pockets, still can be smaller. for snowboarding, only use one philips head screw bit so leave all the other bits at home to save bumbling around with it on the mountain.
"Megablaster tool" 8/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2008 Dakine Mega Blaster Snowboard Tool
  • Pros:  inexpensive, ratchet tool,
  • Cons:  bulky,

Experience:   purchased cheap during discount season, nice tool to have lying around at home for mounting and adjusting binders. Dont recommend bringing up to on the mountain....rather large and bulky for that.
"Gravis crew socks" 8/15/2010

  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M

"F20" 8/5/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Salomon F20 Select
  • Pros:  Soft flex, comfy (plush liner), light
  • Cons:  air holes,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   Bought salomon boot from advice from instructor. Didnt disappoint.Soft flex...think rating is 3 out of 10. Lacing system is easy to get use to and easy to make minor adjustments during the day. There are some air holes for extra breathability. they are around the toes and inside archs, great when its sunny and warm, bad when its really windy and cold.
"Zee survival" 8/5/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Capita Indoor Survival
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Park,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Its a capita!, durable

Experience:   Riding this board for awhile now, been around the world! Taken down mountain in Japan, Australia and New Zealand) some dings here and there but holding up very well. Awesome graphic on topsheet and very unique. Butters/presses...boxes or just bombing down some groomers, even took it down some powder/tree runs...this baby does it all! It's not the softest board but still very playful. Love my capita!! no bias at all =)

"Da Tour!" 8/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Tour Bag
  • Pros:  big and roomy, cheap,

Experience:   Awesome board bag, used it for local/overseas trips and bag works a treat. Bag is not tapered at ends like the burton gig so you can cram it in with extra gear if you need to. Boot pockets are great and fits my size 9.5 boots with room to spare. great for anything up to 1 week, if you are going for a longer trip you will probably want something slightly bigger.
"Royale Jacket Fleece" 8/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2008 Gravis Royale Jacket
  • Pros:  Water resistant, pinstripes,
  • Cons:  frail (things broke first time i wore it),
  • Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  large

Experience:   Cord snapped off at pulling on it once. Zipper does not bite properly. Having said this, still usable. Its much larger than i thought it would be, so use it as an overcoat way too big as regular jacket. Its water resistant (wouldnt say proof)and pinstripes are quite stylish.

Comments & Questions

humdingaling
front zipper broke off completely after 2nd wear. Would explain why it didnt "bite"

"Sierra Union Contact" 7/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Union Sierra Contact SL
  • Pros:  Lightweight, price point,
  • Cons:  toe cap ratchet doesnt bite, ankle strap comes loose ,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   After using it for week in NZ i found these binders lacking. Being union bindings i expected better quality. As my previous bindings were union cadets (which were solid great beginner bindings) i though ill stick with unions. Two major problems i have with these bindings. Toe cap ratchet did not bite or click on properly, althought they never came off it just did not feel secure. Thought it was maybe just the pair i got but checked my mates and he had the same problem. In the end we both switched our old binder's toe cap and stuck them on. Second problem i have is the ankle strap. The ankle strap comes loose after half a day of riding. Doesnt matter how much i tighten the bugger still comes loose. so i swapped them out as well. If it wasnt for the colour and footbed my current binders look like cadets now!

Comments & Questions

humdingaling
ankle strap seems to be fixed after switching out a dodgy washer

"Gravis Jetway" 7/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Gravis Jetway Travel Bag Men's
  • Pros:  Size fits as carry on for airplanes, well comparmentised ,
  • Cons:  heavy for carry on, too small for check in,

Experience:   Bought this bag thinking it would be a great carry on. Checked the dimensions of bag and it will get you onto any plane as carry on. However i forgot to check the weight of the bag. Turns out it weighs slightly 4kg by itself. The bag itself is fine but kind of impractical for any airline travel (from Australia anyway)Too heavy for carry on...too small for check in but fine for road trips or small getaways.

Comments & Questions

alwayseric
hi there, there is weight limit on carry-on (at least in au anyway). i remember it is about 7kg. if the bag by itself weighs 4kg, before you stuff it up, it is already beyond the limit, isnt it?

humdingaling
4kg is less than 7kg. so you can only stuff 3kg worth of stuff into the bag before you reach the 7kg mark. which is particularly nothing.

" Dakine Cross Studs Snowboard Stomp Pad" 7/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Cross Studs
  • Pros:  good size, dirt cheap,

Experience:   It does exactly what its designed for. Unsure why people are having so much problems with these followed instructions and they hold fine ive install 2 of these and have had no issues as yet with any of them.
"Sessions Bro Short Sleeve Tshirt" 7/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Pros:  low costs, nice fit,

"Rome Especial not that special" 6/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome Especial Snowboard Gloves Men's
  • Pros:  fits as per size,
  • Cons:  Not warm at all, no grip,

Experience:   These gloves are more suited to spring gloves cause it was not warm at all. While slimmer then the normal gloves they are not low profile No grip is a bummer with the sierra contacts. As the ratchets are very sleek, you have make a real effort to not slip off the ratches when gloves are wet. For the record did not have this same problem with my other leather gloves only positive i had from using the glove was my hands were dry. albeit it was a clear sunny day and i did not cake it all day
"Red Mutiny " 9/7/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 RED Mutiny
  • Pros:  stylish low profile, brim ,
  • Cons:  bad ventilation, ear piece comes off way too easily,

Experience:   Stylish looking helmet definitely lets you stand out from the crowd with the brim. although having the brim there means you have to pull the googles abit more to get it over the brim. you get use to it after awhile have problem with the ventilation system not really providing much cooling on those warm/spring days. found myself taking helmet off every opportunity on the chairlift just to get some air in. the removable neck/ear pieces moves around and comes off way too easily. Found myself adjusting way too often and eventually taking them off. I'll have it permanently off but kinda need it to protect the ears when it does get cold. having said that, it does the job. protected back of head when landing on it during park run so money well spent there
"Great pants" 8/11/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2009 Foursquare Q
  • Pros:  Breathable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof
  • Cons:  Not Enough Pockets or Features
  • Description:  WEATHER: Cloudy and Cold, Cold and Blustery Day, Snow and Rain Mixed, Sleet, Storming and White Out, LEG: Baggy, WAIST: Feels too big, INSEAM: Feels too long,

Experience:   inseam is adjustable so its great if you run long for your waist size not quite use to the gaiter hook being inverted eg hook goes under the laces instead of over but thats a personal preference the front zip pockets face upwards instead of going sideways, so they feel more like jeans pockets instead of regular pants pockets. again personal preference overall pretty sweet pair of pants
"Solid goggles" 7/19/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Smith Scope Air
  • Pros:  great price for a decent pair of goggles
  • Cons:  got the static camo nothing special design wise

Experience:   although the image doesnt show it properly, the lens are true mirror. not great for really bright day but great for overcast/cloudy
"Clean and simple" 7/19/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 686 Mannual Militant
  • Pros:  Breathable, Warm
  • Description:  WEATHER: Cloudy and Cold, Cold and Blustery Day, LEG: Boot Cut, WAIST: Feels true to size, INSEAM: Feels true to length,

Experience:   Nice simple design plenty of pockets hook comes in handy for hanging stuff Coin pouch inside pocket was also nifty not much in the fashion sense but nice clean and simple design Perfect for people who dont want to stand out but still want the comfort of quality gear
