"good wax but not too big" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Floro Comp Wax All temp
  • Pros:  it was pretty fast and it was all temp. worked well in slush and colder temps.
  • Cons:  expensive. the bar was smaller than the purple fluoro wax that i bought at the same time.

Experience:   can't go wrong with the fluoro all temp. but i wouldn't pay full price for this.
"nice wax" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Fluoro Hot Wax
  • Pros:  i got it for cheap. it worked well and the package wasn't too small compared to some other wax that i've bought. it lasted a while. it was pretty fast and it was all temp.
  • Cons:  it's burton, so it's expensive.

Experience:   i left burton to try some other waxes although i was not unhappy with this product. but there are other ones that are just as good that are a little cheaper.
"easy to use and easy to break" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Cable Lock
  • Pros:  it's nice and small and can fit in your pocket. it's easy to use/remember. protects slightly against thieves.
  • Cons:  it's a small and cheap lock. if someone wanted your board, they could break it off and take your board.

Experience:   it will deter most thieves since they would rather go for an unlocked board than risk getting caught, but if they really want it they can easily break it and take your board.
"decent boot for a cheap price" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 K2 Raider BOA
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Easy in & out, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Low quality
  • Fit:  heel is snug

Experience:   These aren't high end boots. I bought them because they fit my feet well but they were a little cheap quality. The flex was pretty soft and while they were comfortable, I knew they would fall apart quick. The BOA lace guides on the top of the tongue stick out a lot and ended up breaking on me when the edge of my board hit it on the lift. Can't really expect much from a lower end boot.
"good movie" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Mack Dawg Double Decade
  • Pros:  good movie. lots of riders. love the commentary. love the flashbacks from the older MDP movies.
  • Cons:  soundtrack wasn't that great.

Experience:
"good instructional video" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Jumping with Jussi
  • Pros:  jussi is bad ass and a good teacher.
  • Cons:  for people who are wanting to watch an instructional video, this may be a little over their heads. it's like he goes from straight airs to BS 1080's.

Experience:   not sure if it was worth the price, but good info.
"good for beginners" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Dakine Spike Stomp
  • Pros:  very good grip.
  • Cons:  very sharp. i stepped on it once w/o my shoes and thought my feet were bleeding. i took it off after that.

Experience:   i would recommend these for beginners because it grips well even with snow on it. i don't use stomp pads anymore but i would get this one if i had to buy another and i recommend this to my beginner friends.

  • Name: 2007 Follow Me Around
  • Pros:  a great movie with a lot of good riders. a good mix of backcountry, street, and resort riding. my favorite soundtrack.

"comfy pants" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Ronin 2L
  • Pros:  Breathable, Durable, Warm, Waterproof
  • Cons:  Wears Out Quickly
  • Description:  LEG: Baggy, WAIST: Feels true to size, INSEAM: Feels true to length,

Experience:   got these for a good price. they fit me well where i'm not dragging too bad. they're pretty warm with the lining and good waterproofing. the only bad thing is when i fell off a box and it left burn marks on my pants and my AK jacket. i've fallen on many boxes (including the same one) on my other pairs of pants and jackets and none of them have left that mark. but it's just cosmetic and i still like the pants. if they weren't selling for retail price, i would buy another pair. they're pretty expensive at full price.
"great bindings" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Rome 390 LTD
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Durable, Good construction quality, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Cons:  Heavy
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   bought these 07's before i got the 08's and loved them so much i bought another pair. i'm in between sizes (size 8.5) and tried the L/XL first and thought they were a little big. got the S/M the next year and they were too small. the smalls fit better for aggressive riding but the larges are easier to get in and out of. the 07's were pretty heavy compared to the newer models but they were very durable and had little issues. i still use them all the time to this day.
"my favorite goggles" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Oakley Wisdom-SatinSilverGunmetal/H.I.Persimmon
  • Pros:  they fit my face really well (that doesn't help most people). but i have tried other goggles and like this fit the best. the high intensity persimmon lenses help a lot in low light conditions. i can see the bumps a lot better with them.
  • Cons:  make sure you get the wisdoms with the helmet strap. some of the older straps don't fit well with helmets. luckily mine did. the high intensity lenses are perfect for low light conditions but they can get pretty intense in bright conditions.

Experience:   if i were to lose or break these, i would pick up another pair. oakley quality is great.
"great goggles if they fit" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Oakley Crowbar
  • Pros:  good big goggles. better vision than the a-frames. they look really nice.
  • Cons:  they don't fit my face too well compared to my wisdoms. but since my wisdoms have high intensity lenses, i use these for spring days.

Experience:   if you have an asian face, try it out first before picking them up. i love these goggles but honestly they aren't the greatest fitting goggles for my face. but the quality of them are great.
"good to have" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 RED Impact Wrist Guard
  • Pros:  decent price. protects well. it's not like the hard wrist guards that can cause more harm than good.
  • Cons:  i still can't get them under my gloves, so i don't wear them much.

Experience:   i would recommend it to people with wrist issues or beginners.
"Good while they lasted" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Dakine Cobra GT Glove
  • Pros:  awesome gloves. very warm and waterproof. used them in 10-30 degree weather and was not cold. used them in the rain and snow and never got wet. they were a little warm for spring riding but wasn't too bad.
  • Cons:  crappy quality. both my fingers got shredded on the side of my fingers. it wasn't from doing any grabs or anything since i don't do any grabs with my left hand. the velcro stitching fell apart also.

Experience:   they lasted less than 10 days before they fell apart and the goretex layer started showing. if they lasted, they would've been my favorite gloves.
"too simple" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton AK Gore 3L
  • Pros:  Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof
  • Cons:  Not Enough Pockets or Features
  • Description:  WEATHER: Spring Day, Blue Bird Powder Day, Cloudy and Cold, Snow and Rain Mixed, CHEST: Feels too small, BODY: Feels true to length, INSEAM: Feels true to length,

Experience:   It's a shell, so expect to layer up. The jacket does it's job but the quality is just ok. Some of my zippers are hard to use and the things you pull on fell apart already. i fell on a box and it left a burn mark across the bottom. i only fell once. my 3 other jackets have taken more abuse and none have that mark. the pockets (or lack of pockets) suck. but i can use my pants pocket instead i guess. very expensive for a decent jacket.
"great all mountain freestyle board" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 K2 Darkstar
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  lightweight, Great value, Soft, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Top sheet scratches, Low quality

Experience:   i've been using this board for 3 seasons now and it's one of my favorite boards. it's soft but not too soft. i can bomb down runs all day long with it. my only con is that it doesn't take abuse too well. i have chips all over the board from just little hits. but it's all cosmetic.
"great tool" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Bullet Tool
  • Pros:  i love this thing. i never leave home without it. it's small enough to carry in your pocket and you don't have to worry about falling on it and breaking something.
  • Cons:  no cons other than after a few seasons of use the bits are starting to rust a little.

Experience:   a great tool. decent price. i would buy another one if i lost or damaged my old one. my friends always borrow mine and want one for themselves.
"good gloves" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Gore Tex Under
  • Pros:  they're very warm. they come with a pipe glove that you can wear if it's too hot. which at this point of the season, that's like everyday. it has goretex, so you know it will be waterproof as long as the stitching stays together.
  • Cons:  they're very warm. i came from some dakine cobras and they're a lot thicker. i don't mind the bulkiness of the glove, but some may find that a con. but it's definitely thicker than the thinner dakines.

Experience:   they're pretty expensive if you pay full retail, but luckily i got a good deal. i haven't had them that long yet, so i can't tell you how durable they are as i haven't put a full season on them yet. but they seem to be made very well and if they hold up they should last a few seasons.
"nice" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Titan
  • Pros:  i got it for really cheap. they are REAL warm. i was riding in ~10 degree weather and was still sweating in them. for some reason, i have good luck with the cheaper dakine gloves. the higher end dakines that i bought fell apart in less than 10 days. good waterproofing on these too.
  • Cons:  the liner fits tight. i busted a seam on them. nothing some stitching can't fix. and these mitts are huge. i fit the liners perfectly but when i stick them in the mit, i have a lot of room. but i'm still able to strap in easily.

Experience:   they're good to have if you are cold often. but for the most part, it's a little overkill and i don't expect to use these much unless i'm riding sub zero temps. they're pretty bulky, but useful. if you're looking for a good priced mitt with good waterproofing and warmth, this is a good one.
"eh" 4/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 RED Trace
  • Pros:  it's a good price for protection. i have the audio ones and the mute button is nice compared to the skullcandy headphones on giro helmets.
  • Cons:  the goggle clip sucks. it's not even glued in or attached permanently. i took a big spill and lost it somewhere. i called burton for a replacement and they told me they don't make replacements. well then maybe you should permanently attach them? they wanted me to ship my whole helmet back to them so they could send me a brand new helmet back. i couldn't do that in the middle of the season.

Experience:   the audio pads aren't compatible with the other RED helmets. it's heavier than the other RED helmets. if i could go back, i would go with the hi-fi. it's worth the extra $$$. it's lighter and has more accessories for it. it also fits a little looser than my two giro helmets.
"Good boots" 3/2/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Vans Fargo
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Easy in & out, Well known brand, Popular model
  • Fit:  average

Experience:   I've had my fargos for two seasons now and put more than 30 days on them. They were really nice when I first purchased them and even though I've used them quite a bit, they still work better than my older boots at this same stage of life. The life is probably typical compared to other boots (not too long) so I need to replace them soon. But the Boas have never given me issues and have been very convenient and sturdy. These are Boa Coilers so they're good ones. My only issue (and this is from so much wear) is that the boot is not as stiff as it used to be. Other than that, I enjoy the boot and would consider getting one again if the price was right. Oh another con I almost forgot is that the footprint of this boot is a little bigger than others. So if you're in between binding sizes, you might want to try out the bigger one.
"Not the greatest but not the worst" 2/4/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Nice colors Decent price Decent padding Shoulder strap Lightweight
  • Cons:  Zippers aren't the best One pocket Cheap materials and construction

Experience:   I've used this bag for a few flights now and like using it because it's small and compact. The cons from this is that it doesn't hold too much more than 2 setups. It's nice and light though so you don't have to worry about the 50 pound limit. But compared to my other Dakine High Roller bag the quality and construction is not up to par. The inside lining is starting to rip from the edges of my board. Overall a decent board. If I were to start over, it would come down between the Dakine Low Roller bag and this.
"awesome binding" 2/1/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Rome 390
  • Pros:  very comfortable binding. the straps are supportive and hold well. especially the top cap/strap. one of the best out there. the binding isn't that expensive compared to other bindings out there. a good all mountain binding. you can ride the park or hit the groomers without any issues. plenty of adjustibility.
  • Cons:  none. well i guess the only con is that the sizing of the binding is weird for people in between sizes. i had last years in a L/XL and i had to put it on the smallest settings. I got this years in a S/M because i'm a size 8 and figured it would be a better fit. i thought the L/XL was too big so i got the S/M and with my Vans Fargo (big footprint) boots, i have to pretty much max everything out. if you're a size 8-9 boot, it's a little weird and you should test out your own boot with the binding in person first or see what others with the same setup have before buying.

Experience:   a GREAT all around binding especially for the price. i have two pairs of these and love them.
