"great fun board" 7/21/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 K2 Happy Hour Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Light, Stable, Felxible
  • Cons:  Tip Shape,

Experience:   I demo'd this board few weeks back, and i have to say it was one of the best boards i've used. The K2 guy told me this board is to replace the believer (which i use to own 2010 model), and i have to say this board is much better than the believer. Initially i wanted to try out the raygun, but he didn't have it there, so instead i went for the happy hour which he recommended. From my first impression, i didn't think much of the board and wasn't really looking forward to testing it. to my surprise the board was great! it was very playful and just went well with my darko boots and cartel bindings. to me the board was flexible enough for me to butter and play around, held the edge well, very stable, good pop, and light (the lighest i demo'd on the day). the thing i dislike about hte board is the shape of the tips. the shape apparently has no purpose, so i don't see the reason in it. my thought was that it had a much higher chance of damaging my board bag if i decide to buy the board. i think this board has a good chance of winning goodwood award.

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Sleeve Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Free,
  • Cons:  No Padding, No pockets,

Experience:   If you are after a bag to throw everything into to make it easier to carry/hold, then this is the bag you are after. If you're after something to protect your gear, then choose something else. There is no padding, no pockets and material is thin as. It will probably protect the board scratching your car at most. I have rated this good, as the bag serves its purpose, to carry gear/equipment, and is not expected to protect the gear. I received this free with my other orders, and have used it to protect my car from scratches off the board. This is somethign i would not buy, and do not recommend to people looking to protect their gear in a bag.

  • Name: 2010 686 New Balance 580 3-Ply
  • Pros:  Design/color/looks, waterproofing, light weight
  • Cons:  limited no. of pockets, zip on the right side, over priced
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  White seth morrison goggles

Experience:   Ok, i must say i fell for the fashion/marketing trap and mainly bought this jacket looks nice with my white seth morrison goggles and that its limited edition. Initially, i was very excited in getting this jacket, however once i got it my frist question was where are the pockets? I was expecting to recieve the usual 686 type jacket with a million pockets like my other 686 jacket (most likely my mistake for not reading the specs clearly enough). So no pockets for phone, goggles, lift pass, and no mirror on sleeve. But nevertheless on the slopes, it looked great with my limited edition goggles. The jacket was very waterproof and windproof, and i was able to put on layers underneath the jacket to keep me warm on the chair lifts. Material quality is very good, and very durable, however due to the color dirt just seemed to attach itself onto the jacket. Another pro, was the non sysmetric zip. Previous jackets, on the chair lift on cold days, i would have the zip right up to the top. And that usually irritates my chin and i soon get a rash forming. With this jacket, the zip is no where near my chin which is awesome! In conclusion, I would not recommend this jacket to others or the other NB x 686 gear, not just because i don't want people wearing the same thing as me, but i believe you will get more value out of buying a 686 smarty jacket instead, where u get a inner liner as well! If you're a fan of 686 i would say be prepared to be disappointed by the limited tech. But if you get chin irritations from symetrical zips or you love the design, go for it.
"great t shirt" 4/29/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Sierra Headphones TShirt
  • Pros:  material, design/color, value
  • Fit:  Too small
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  XS
  • Description:  Bit too tight around the chest

Experience:   great tshirt. I got this tshirt for my gf. my first impression when i opened the box was that the design and color of this t-shirt looks great and will suit her nicely. The tshirt was a nice soft material and did not change after a few washes. only down side was that it was too tight for her, so i will have to pickup a size M next time. Which was strange to me, see as she usually wears XS or S. but no biggy with the low price of the tshirt.
"Stomp pads sticks" 7/11/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Cross Studs
  • Pros:  Looks good, Sticks, Cheap
  • Cons:  Only 4,

Experience:   After reading all the reviews about these not sticking, i bought 2 of these because they were cheap. I cleaned and heated up the surface before i stuck the stomp pads on. I then used a G-clamp and clamped them all down for 24hrs for the glue to cure. So far, they have stuck very well. The only negative part is that there is only 4 studs, and i feel it requires 1 or 2 more. Luckly i bought 2 packs.

  • Name: 2010 K2 Believer
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Stability, Design,
  • Cons:  Heavy, Too stiff,

Experience:   I used this board in Australia, it is very stable on high speeds, and i found it easy to turn with. Jumps were easy using this board and the landing is pretty forgiving. I would say this board it more suited for all mountain to free ride style riding. On the neg side, i found this board very heavy and too stiff compared to my arbor heritage. I am 180cm tall and 60-70kg, and i bought a 157 board, but i think i should have bought a smaller size to enjoy this board more in the park.
"no problems" 6/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Spade
  • Pros:  size, spikes,
  • Cons:  none so far,

Experience:   I bought clear ones of these for a friend. The spikes are pretty sharp for a good grip, and the clear design doesn't affect the graphics of the board. It only has a little dakine logo which is fine.
"Prefer goretex gloves" 6/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Profile Gloves Women's
  • Pros:  Design, Liner,
  • Cons:  Outside material,

Experience:   These gloves are ok. I would have liked it more if the liner was removeable, however the liner is still warm inside the glove. Material outside feels a little soft and not sure how durable that will be. I would recommend spending a little more money to buy goretex gloves instead.
"Good goggles" 5/20/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Oakley Crowbar
  • Pros:  Anti-fog, good fit, Replaceable lens
  • Cons:  big overall, short strap, scratches easily

Experience:   I got a pair of LE seth morrisons. They look awesome, have not foged up once, and is very comfortable. You can change the lens to whatever color that you like from oakley and it is very easy to do. Now for down side, overall size is quiet big and oakley does not have a case for these. Even though the oakley website states that crowbars fit in the case, it doesn't! I ended up buying a electric goggle case. Strap seems short, and it doesn't seem that it will fit over a helmet. The lens scratches easily, however they are easy to replace so no problems there.
"Useful tool" 4/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  ratchet system, Light,
  • Cons:  loose wrench,

Experience:   Good tool that does the job. The wrench is not attached like the rest of the parts. I don't recommend putting this tool in your pocket if you fall a lot, as you may injure yourself.
"good bag" 4/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Low Roller Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  low cost, good padding,
  • Cons:  heavy,

Experience:   A good bag as described. Negatives: it is a heavy bag (that's y it has wheels i guess), but might be troublesome for travelling overseas. Shoulder strap is in an annoying location. In order to open the bag up, you have to remove the shoulder strap So far other than those 2 points, everything is good.
"Nice gloves" 4/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Titan
  • Pros:  warm, 3 gloves in 1,

Experience:   These gloves are warm. Can be adjusted to suit the weather. However, having both liner and glove on at the same time feel a bit tight. Only neg comment i have is that the liner breaks easily.
"Good backpack" 4/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Mission Womens
  • Pros:  many pockets, comfortable,
  • Cons:  material feels thin, waist strap not removable,

Experience:   A very nice backpack that can be used for anything. It is comfortable to carry around and the design is good. Few things i didn't like about the bag. The material feels thin. The waist strap should be removeable because sometimes it gets in the way and gets annoying. Goggles pocket is not big enough to fit my goggles case, but if i remove the case i'm sure it can fit.
