"Cartel EST on Burton Custom"
- Name: 2009 Burton Cartel EST
- Pros: Adjustability, Dampening, Durability
- Cons: Screws come loose easier than 3 or 4 hole pattern,
- Flex: mid
This is the third pair of Cartel's I've owned and I purchased these last season to go with my Burton Custom ICS model board. The design on the back matched perfectly with the board which got me plenty of compliments on the mountain throughout the season. The bindings are very easy to set up once you get used to the channel system and it makes adjustments much quicker than traditional bindings. However, the screws did manage to work their way loose after a few hours of riding, which i fixed by adding washers to them towards the end of the season (never had another problem). This however did become frustrating when the angle changed or the bindings would swivel with every carve. I do not find this a reason to not buy the channel system boards since it is an easy fix. The bindings held up great w/ nearly 30 days of riding with only minor tearing of the padding on the high back taking place. If you buy a Burton with the channel I highly recommend buying the EST bindings to get the full benefit of your new board.
