- Name: 2011 Protec B2 Snowboard Helmet Men's
- Pros: Super Comfortable Chin Strap, Lightweight, Easy to adjust
- Cons: Cheap finishing, Lacks Padding,
Experience:
I ordered the B2 not only because it seemed like a decent helmet, but from the pictures the padding in it looked more substantial than some of it's competitors. Upon receiving the helemt I was slightly disappointed. I have been used to my old Protec helmet which was from about 6 years ago. It had mesh covering all of the foam part and was very comfortable. Since then all helmets have switched to a different type of lining. They use a one piece liner which upon trying I am not too excited about. It may breath better but it doesn't have as much padding as more old one and therefore is not as comfortable to wear. What it is similar to is a beanie placed in a foam liner. Other than that I feel that it is substantially better than it's competitors, particularly Red, which use minimal padding. I was hoping that it would be more like the Protec Classic. The best part of the helmet is the chin strap padding. 5 Stars for the chin padding.
Bottom line:
If you need a helmet I would recommend this one on the fact that it has the multiple hit liner, so it can be used for many years. If you're looking for maximum comfort this is not your helmet, although the chin strap does some to redeem it.
