"Lovin It :-)" 5/6/2010
Helpful Review?   (6) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra V Spot Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds,Park,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Soft & Flexible, Great for butters, Fun board
  • Cons:  Not great at higher speeds/thru chop,

Experience:   This is my first season snowboarding and I started on a regular camber board, the Ride Solace, but after all the hype of the V-Spot I was intrigued so a fabulous little lady (Stass) let me ride hers for the weekend and I fell in love! Its a softer board and great for playing around on, I gained 6inches on my presses without even trying and ollies became effortless! Its a terrific board to learn and progress on! It also floats through powder nicely. I rode it all over the mountain and it handled well but not great at the higher speeds. I now own the 142 V-Spot!

what bindings do you use with this board?

RoseBud
I use the Burton Lexas (which have a lot of slippage so not the best) or my awesome Rome Madisons :)

"Super Soft & Warm" 3/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine H/W Faction First Layer Pants Women's
  • Pros:  Warm, Soft & Cozy, Good fit
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S

Experience:   I got these pants to wear under my AK 3L gear, which is not insulated so I wanted something heavy to keep me warm. They are a super soft fleece fabric with a draw string waist. The crotch and upper inside thighs are a polyester/nylon like fabric for breathability. Overall cozy and a good fit, I recommend these for really cold days or under shell pants! For $13 I would grab these up if you need a warm base pant!
"Nice and Dry" 1/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton AK Static 3L GoreTex Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Goretex keep you dry, Great price on sale at Sierra,
  • Cons:  Not insulated, Hood doesn't zip off,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  True to size

Experience:   Got this jacket because I'm a beginner and planned on being laid out on the snow alot so I wanted something that would keep me dry, this does a fabulous job! It's not insulated so you definitely need to layer if it's cold temps, which I had room to do while ordering my normal size. The collar is comfortable and looks good zipped partially down or all the way up for those chilly days! Very happy with this jacket and the great deal I got here at Sierra!
"Fabulous Jacket" 12/26/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Flash Insulated Snowboard Jacket Women's
  • Pros:  Super Warm & Cozy, Not Bulky, Cute Style
  • Cons:  Not made well?,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S

Experience:   This jacket is great with some jeans for everyday around town wear, but could totally be used under a shell jacket for warmth or on its own while shredding the mountain in the right weather. The pockets and collar are lined with soft fleece which makes it super cozy when you are bundled up! It has both a zipper and snaps lining the front for optional closures and a slight feminine cut which gives it style. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because the cuff on one sleeve started to unravel :-/
"<3 my Solace" 12/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Ride Solace Snowboard Women's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Good Response, Stable at High Speeds, Light Weight

Experience:   The 2009 Ride Solace 142 was my first board and I love it! I think its a great board to learn on however as I progressed I found I didn't out grow it. It has a medium flex and is easy to handle, basically an awesome all mountain board. As an added bonus the graphics are sick, I love the natural wood thats incorporated in the designs. I also have a Sierra V-spot which I love as well but being a reverse camber it's definitely not the same kind of riding and I've since purchased a Nitro Fate which did little for me. . . All in all my Solace is the board I can grab with the confidence of a guaranteed good time on the mountain regardless of conditions!
"Springtime Fleece Jacket!" 12/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Freedom Softshell Jacket
  • Pros:  Super Cute, Blocks Wind / Warm, Zippered Pockets
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Slim Fit, It's a little small in the sleeves, over a long sleeve shirt it might be tight/bunchy, the rest fits great with it being slightly wider at the bottom perfect for fitting over snowboard pants!

Experience:   This softshell is perfect for spring riding! Throw it over a tank or t-shirt and you are good to go. Definitely stylish enough for street wear as well
"SierraPalooza FTW" 4/6/2010

  • Name: 2011 Sierrapalooza Sugarbowl, CA
  • Pros:  Snowboarding in Tahoe, Great People, Good Fun

Experience:   Umm I think there might be some drinking and partying, possibly some boarding as well! Im gonna be there so you know it will be a fun time cuz I don't do lame stuff! I fully recommend everyone come and play! Can't wait to demo some boards!! :-)
"Lovin It" 3/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2008 Dakine Mega Blaster Snowboard Tool
  • Pros:  Lots of bit sizes, Small & Compact, Ratcheting
  • Cons:  Bit storages doesn't lock, No storage for 10th bit,

Experience:   This is a handy little tool! It comes with a nice variety of bits and it fits in your hand nicely. I wouldn't say its great for carrying in your pocket (size & shape) but perfect for your board bag, backpack, car glove box, or even just the junk drawer at home (we all know we have one). The ratchet feature is great and makes it super convenient to use. As other reviews said the storage for the bits don't have a lock so they seem a little loose, and I found no spot for the 10th bit, so it has to remain in the actual driver/tip. For the price this is a fabulous tool, and I couldn't resist getting one for my bro too!
"What a Deal" 3/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Goggle Case
  • Pros:  Large in size, Space for extra lenses, Vents
  • Cons:  Not a hard case,

Experience:   I was surprised when I recieved this case, it's really quite large. The inside is fleece lined with plenty of room for big goggles as well as extra lenses. The vents are a nice bonus feature to help your goggs dry out after use. As stated in previous reviews its not a hard case (which is the only reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars) but is perfect for just some extra protections so you can toss your goggles wherever! I snagged up a couple of these bad boys at the amazing price of $5!! Thanks Sierra!
"Lexa Binding" 3/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Lexa Womens
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Good Construction, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Difficult to strap in,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I like these bindings they are comfortable and lightweight. I like the style of them and think the zippers are fun! However I do have trouble strapping in at the ankle, hoping once the straps break in a little and loosens up it will go quicker.

Comments & Questions

RoseBud
Slippage! Just wanted to comment on my review and say I experience a lot of toe strap slippage, so constant tightening is required! Its not uncommon for me to go to unstrap at the bottom of a run and see my toe strap completely off my boot!

"Goretex FTW" 3/20/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton AK Static 3L Womens
  • Pros:  Goretex, Comfortable, Great sale price
  • Cons:  No insulation, No front pockets,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S

Experience:   Just got back from the mountain, it was slushy and wet but I stayed completely dry in these pants! I was surprised how easily they zipped into my jacket creating a 100% barrier from the snow! Comfortable and with a baggy fit leg I think these pants are great! Keep in mind these pants will keep you dry but they are not insulated, so layers are a must. Also there are no front pockets which I like, there are two cargo pockets and one back pocket.
"Great Base Top" 3/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Player Long Sleeve Womens Thermal Top
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Thumb holes, Length
  • Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  M

Experience:   Why do Burton tops run so BIG!! I love this but I got it in a small (my size) and it's a little baggy for a base layer! So keep that in mind when ordering. However I think this top is cute and simple so just changing out of your pants and wearing it with some jeans after boarding works perfectly! The thumb holes give that little extra warmth to your hands when you're not wearing gloves. The length is nice and long so it can tuck into your pants and help keep snow and cold air from reaching your skin!
"Great Base!!" 1/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Lux Midweight Thermal Pant Womens
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Soft, Warm
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Average fit of a tight base layer

Experience:   These pants are ace for me! Super soft and comfy, and they keep me warm, what more could you want! The small fit ideal but they didn't have it in black so I ended up with a medium which works just as well. They are a tight fit so they seemed very similar, medium just appeared to be a little longer! Also they arent super high waisted, which is great so you dont have to pull them all the way up to your bustline!! :-P
"I can SEE!" 1/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Vonzipper Chakra Goggles
  • Pros:  Super cute, Wide field of vision, Variety of lenses & frames
  • Cons:  Pricey if not on sale,

Experience:   I love these goggles! They have a wide lens so as to not cut off your peripheral vision, but at the same time they doesn't swallow up those of us with smaller faces! They are comfortable, very cute and stylish.
