  • Name: 2011 DC Scout BOA Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  lots of support, as much as you want!, lots of feel, no laces
  • Cons:  boa isn't for everyone,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  11
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   I have a little older set of these and i really like them. for the price you get a nice looking, comfy boot with good feel and a single boa system, can't beat it. one drawback is that the single boa system seems to require a little experimentation for getting the correct tension. once you figure that out they work quite well, but may require some further adjustment during the day. as for the strength of the cables themselves, i can comment. i have heard people say they are turned off by boas because of the possibility of a cable breaking. apparently this can happen, but i'd just like to say mine are around 4 years old and they haven't broken. when i buy a new set i plan to go to the double boa system the judge offers. but if you want to spend $100 less, go for the scout. it's a good boot.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cargo Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  keep you warm and dry, inseam vents, tough construction
  • Cons:  zip interface won't work with most jackets,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  feels great. a bit long though

Experience:   i'm 6ft 215 lbs. couldn't decide between L and XL for this pant, but i'm glad i chose L. i have worn the waist adjusted all the way big for the season, but as i shred and lose a little weight, i have some room to adjust the waste smaller now. the legs are a bit long on me, but the cargos have a nifty little strap that lets you roll the legs up and keep them rolled up when you are walking around the base area/parking lot. pretty handy. the pants are tough. i have used and abused mine this season. been out 26 times so far. i have fallen and slid around in ice, washed the pants countless times, they still continue to hold up well. interestingly, i somehow managed to put a couple of small pinpoint holes in the front of my thigh on the right pant leg. i have kept an eye on the holes through wash and use after wash and use and the holes have not gotten bigger or spread. in the rainy snow the pants tend to soak through the first layer but it never gets through to your skin. my only real complaint is that pants and jackets should interface universally, and it seems like if anyone was gonna set the standard it should be the forward-thinking people at Burton. no matter what i try, i just can't get the zipper on the pants to lock in to the buttons on my jacket.

  • Name: 2010 Union Sierra Contact SL
  • Pros:  comfortable, flexy, attractive
  • Cons:  cap strap,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   love the bindings, but here are a couple of negative points. 1) the cap strap is not quite there yet. needs improvement. here's what i mean: a)when i bought the bindings the guy at the store told me i needed to take the leather strap off of the toe holder and flip them upside down and switch them between the two bindings. apparently this is helpful for getting a solid bite. b)there are two adjustments for the cap strap. the little detents for each plastic strap pivot point, and the holes in the plastic strap that allow you to lengthen the whole cap strap. i have had trouble with both of these. first, the pivot point adjustment keeps popping out on me. it wants to be in the front slot and i want it to stay in the back. second, once you take the screw out of the hole to lengthen the strap it can be pretty gnarly tryin to get it back in. all that said, i am over-all happy with the bindings. they are super comfy and keep me supported while still flexing for me and letting me do my thing. they're really good looking and even with the faulty ajdustment stuff, i love to ride when i'm strapped in to these things. adjustment can be made around the weak points of the bindings and for the money they were so worth it!

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  everything,
  • Cons:  not too much,

Experience:   this board will rock your socks off. it is light, super poppy and very very forgiving. this is a board that you could easily ride as a beginner and still get full use of even as an advanced rider. the board practically rides itself. unreal.
