"Smartwool = Best snowboard socks" 9/21/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Smartwool Park Crystalize Socks Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Lightweight, Not itchy
  • Cons:  None,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L

Experience:   It's amazing how you don't realize how much snowboard socks play a role into your day of riding, but they really do. Smartwool makes the best snowboard socks ever and i won't ride anything else if i have the choice. They keep your feet very warm, they are lightweight, dont smell as bad as most socks after riding, and they dont bunch around your ankle. Going to grab a couple more pairs for this season so i dont have the reuse the same pair for a week.
"Worth the investment" 8/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Demon Flex Force Padded Shorts Black Men's
  • Pros:  great fit/not bulky, great protection, doesn't make you sweat

Experience:   If you live on the east coast and starting in the park/attempting newer tricks then I recommend purchasing these. Definitely helped me a lot, went a couple weekends without it and had a good amount of bruises from landing on ice. After buying these I felt so much better and didnt have to leave the park for a couple hours because of a bad fall. Also because its made out of a thin material, it doesnt make you swear while still helping protect you. As the previous reviewer said, these are a tailbone saver. Definitely worth the purchase/investment.
"Great All-Mountain Board" 1/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome Machine
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  All-Mountain, Switch, Sturdy
  • Cons:  Not good for pow,

Experience:   This is my first 'official' board to own and I couldn't be happier for it rides great after 10 days. It is perfect for going all-mountain, it is great for riding small park (haven't tried large park yet), carving down diamonds or even trying switch. The only downside is it is not very good in large amounts of fresh pow, for you WILL get stuck, but it handles well in all other conditions and terrains. Highly recommend this board for anyone looking at getting into park who currently enjoys riding all-mountain.
"Amazing Bag!" 1/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Padded Bag, Tons of room, Wheels

Experience:   Used this bag for my trip to Colorado and made my life so much easier. Not only does it have wheels that are sturdy and make carrying the bag through an airport MUCH easier, but it also is very padded and has tons of room. Even with my board and bindings I was still able to pack most of my clothes and gear in the bag (including my helmet) all under 50 lbs, such that the only other bag I had was my carry on. Highly recommend this bag if you are planning on air travel for it will make your life so much easier.
"Awesome Helmet" 12/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Red HI FI 2 Snowboard Helmet - Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Comfy, Great Protection

Experience:   Got this as a gift and couldn't be happier. It is not only a cool looking helmet but it is also very warm, but not to the point of sweating, and it is very comfortable to wear, with or without a beanie underneath. My Oakley Crowbar goggles fit perfectly with this helmet. Most importantly, the helmet saved me from many concussions like falls on the mountain and is very durable. I have yet to find any cons behind this helmet so far. I highly recommend this helmet for anyone in the market for a new helmet.
"Oakley is known for a reason" 10/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Oakley A Frame
  • Pros:  durability, comfort, visibility

Experience:   Oakley makes quality gear so you know you are getting your moneys worth with these goggles. I havent had any issues in regards to fogging or anything getting in the goggles, for they fit comfortably on the head. The visibility is incredible, esp. for the fire iridium on sunny days, I can see everything without any glare issues. My only downside is I now need to buy a blue lenses for night boarding since the fire iridium aren't good at night. Lastly these goggles are pretty durable, I used these during my first season of snowboarding so I fell a lot at the beginning and I haven't had any scratches, cracks, or breaks on the lenses yet. Oakley may be pricey but in the end its always worth the extra cash for their quality.
"Perfect fit jacket" 10/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Foursquare Arroyo
  • Pros:  great fit, warm, removable liner
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  This jacket is a perfect fit, it is not to loose nor to tight

Experience:   A very simple design jacket that has a removable jacket. The removable inner liner is the best part of the jacket especially in the late season when it gets warmer so you can use the jacket without the liner or even just the liner. With the liner in keeps you very warm but not too warm where you sweat. Also the fit of the jacket is great, its not too baggy but loose enough to be comfortable. No snow ever gets in the jacket and you will stay very dry.
"Best bindings i've used so far" 9/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Cartel 2009
  • Pros:  flex, comfort, durability
  • Cons:  none that i can find,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These were my first real bindings that I owned, bought them after reading some great reviews here on sierra, and they were exactly as everyone said. 10000x better than any previous bindings ive used between rentals and friends. These bindings were extremely comfortable and were able to take a beating on the slopes and have no damage to them. Can't wait to hit the slopes again this winter and use them again, hopefully putting them to the test on the park. Highly recommend these bindings for any beginner to intermediate rider, can't say advanced for i am not there yet.
"So Comfy" 4/5/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Moto
  • Pros:  Easy lacing, Very comfortable, Warm
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   These boots are so comfortable, they fit exactly how you expect them to. The lacing is easy to adjust tightness and feel especially on different parts of the foot/ankle. I have used these as well as DC BOA and these definitely allowed for more variation in tightness, making them more comfortable overall.
"$1 Bandana " 4/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Forum Destroyer Bandana
  • Pros:  cheap, simple design,

Experience:   Another $1 bandana with a nice design in both colors, much simpler design compared to some of the others but a great bandana
"Warm and Comfy" 4/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Gore Under
  • Pros:  waterproof, liners for extra warmth, fits perfectly

Experience:   I learned how to snowboard this past season (thus i fell a LOT at the beginning). I tried out many different types of gloves due to my hands getting wet or cold, and after switching to these gloves I wont use any other glove besides these. My hands were completely dry and warm at the end of the day. The best part too is with the extra liner you can take it out when the weather gets warmer and your hands will still be comfortably warm and not excessively hot/sweating.
