"Good Bindings" 10/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Restricted Cartel EST Snowboard Bindings - Men's
  • Pros:  Easy to adjust stance while still in binding,
  • Cons:  None,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I got these bindings to go with my joystick and they work great. Adjusting my stance is super easy and I can do it while still standing in the bindings which makes it really convenient. I tried my board without the EST bindings and these definitely feel a little different. The bottom of the binding is just a soft rubber so you don't have any hard plastic you're standing on. The only down side to this is when there's a lot of chatter in your board you feel it more. Overall these are great bindings and I would recommend them to anyone.
"Awesome Boot" 10/28/2010

  • Name: 2010 DC Mora Snowboard Boots Women's
  • Pros:  Easy to put on and tighten, Easy to take off and loosen,
  • Cons:  Tight fit when not packed out,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  8
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   I got the DC Judge boots last season and loved them so much I had to buy my Girlfriend the girl version. We always had a problem with her boots because I would always have to tighten them for her and I was getting sick of it, also she would always complain about her toes being cold. These boot run really tight when you first get them and I had to tell her to just ride in them until they pack out. After the second or third time riding in them they finally started to get comfortable for her and now she loves them! She wears mitts and we got her 686 pants that have slots for the BOA's so she can adjust them now without having to pull her pants leg up. She likes them because she can tighten them without straining herself. The dual zone BOA is good because you can tighten the ankle part without tightening the rest of the boot.

  • Name: 2010 DC Judge BOA Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  BOA system makes tightening easy, Dual zone helps tighten in the right spots,
  • Cons:  Hard to adjust if your pants are over BOA, Really tight when you first get them,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   I picked up the Judge boots to go with my board setup and I love them. When I first got them I thought they were too small because my toes were squished inside of them. Snowboard boots are supposed to be snug though and these have hard inner liners that pack out and conform to your foot. After the first time I rode them my feet actually hurt, but by the 3rd time I rode with them they were packed out and now fit perfectly. They're super easy to get on and dialed in and when I want to take a break I just pop the BOA to loosen them up a little. I have read that sometimes the tightening cable snaps but I haven't had that problem and rode these boots all season without an issue. I liked them so much I bought my girlfriend a pair of DC BOA boots and she loves them too. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone.
"Sick Board" 10/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Joystick Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomers,High Speeds,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Somewhat soft so easy to manuever, Reverse camber so less edge grabbing,
  • Cons:  Too soft for hard carving, Chatters at high speeds,

Experience:   I picked this board up last season to ride on groomers and help me get better. The first time I rode this board I fell in love with it, it's super soft and really easy to turn. It has a quick response and moves as soon as you do. I originally bought mine with Mission non EST bindings but decided that riding with the EST's might be better. After putting the Cartel EST's on it's really easy to adjust your stance while still in your bindings, so I would definitely recommend EST bindings with this board. The only draw back I felt to the Joystick is since it is a softer board I did feel a lot of chatter at high speeds. I also felt that the board didn't hold it's edge well in icy conditions. Overall I loved this board and would recommend it to anyone.
