  • Name: 2010 DC Phase
  • Pros:  Cheap, Wide,
  • Cons:  Little to soft, pressure points,
  • Fit:  stiff
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I have wide feet and heard the DC boots were good in that category, which they are; unfortunately, the boots are average at best. They are very soft, which is fun for the park, but they're not as responsive as I would like outside of the park. They seem to have alot of heel lift so I have to crank down the laces which leads to pressure points on the top of my foot from the inner bladder. Inner bladder is very thin. All in all they worked but will be looking elsewhere next year. I say spend a couple extra bucks and get something else. I think DCs overall are good boots but these are entry level at best.

  • Name: 2010 Dragon Rogue-i
  • Pros:  no fog, large fit, optically correct lenses

Experience:   The Dragon Rogue, especially with the ionized lenses, are a great mid large sized goggle. These never seem to fog up, fit the helmets well, and best of all have an optically correct lens that really gives you an all around view without those annoying blind spots. Definitely recommend these for everyone. IMO the mace are very nice as well but are huge and the DX is just a little small for average size faces. The DX also don't have optically correct lenses from what I remember. Anyway, great goggles, very happy with mine.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Standard Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  Kept son dry, Medium fits more like a large, Stylish
  • Cons:  Had to buy med. because larges were huge,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Slightly larger than size suggests...

Experience:   Bought these in a medium for my 8 year old after getting larges that were just huge on him. These fit closer to a realistic large size. Check the sizing chart, the jump from medium to large is pretty significant. Bottom line these worked out great. Went up on a very warm spring day and these stayed dry all day in really slushy/wet conditions. Fit was good because I was actually hoping they would be larger than your typical medium size pants. Great basic pants.

  • Name: 2010 Von Zipper Trike Youth
  • Pros:  no fog, nice look, fit helmet
  • Cons:  tiny,

Experience:   Got these for my son and they're really nice. Well put together, lens doesn't fog, fits helmet no problem. One issue, these are tiny. Not sure what age these are for but they barely fit my 8 year old. He still wears them because they look cool but probably should have gotten him a larger model. If you're looking for a younger kid, these are legit' otherwise, maybe just get them a larger model they can grow in to.

  • Name: 2010 Smith Holt Youth
  • Pros:  well constructed, cool look, fit with goggles, no gap
  • Cons:  sizing chart ,

Experience:   Got this for my son and it's a really nice, well put together helmet. Luckily he hasn't had an oppurtunity to really test it out but given the construction, fit, etc. it should protect his noggin in any situation. One word of advice, this is a Junior helmet, not youth, and so the small is intended to fit 48-53cm. The sizing chart is a little suspect. Luckily my son was still in the high range and it fit fine. Definitely recommend this helmet for your grom.
"Decent base layer" 4/12/2010

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Midweight Ridge Pants
  • Pros:  price, fairly warm,
  • Cons:  not enough for colder weather,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  what I would expect from a large

Experience:   Got these for basically nothing so can't complain. They're a fairly thin base layer that worked fine hear in southern california where it's typically pretty warm when you ride. Not sure how these will do in Whistler next year, concerned they may not provide enough protection. If you're in fairly mild temps these should be great.
"Sweet Soft Shell" 4/12/2010

  • Name: 2010 Sessions Suburban Softshell
  • Pros:  Waterproof, Light, Great for Warmer days
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  kind of baggy

Experience:   Got this for our typical southern california days and it's perfect. It's actually pretty warm for a soft shell and does a great job keeping you dry in the slush. Love riding in sweatshirts/hoodies and these give you that feeling without the issues of getting wet, etc. Buy one.
"Great beginning binding for my son" 4/9/2010

  • Name: 2009 Ride Micro Youth
  • Pros:  Price, Comfort,
  • Cons:  Straps really long,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   Got these for my son and he loves them. Very comfortable and didn't have any issues getting on/off. The straps are really long but you get used to it...at least he did. Luckily he was on the larger side of the range for the binding, he's a size 4, so we didn't have the issues with adjusting the bindings but I could see that being an issue because, as the others said, the strap will rub and doesn't quite fit other than at the very end. overall decent binding that has helped my son in his learning to snowboard.
"Nice Pants...be cautious of sizing." 3/25/2010

  • Name: 2009 Burton Twc Cosmic Delight Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  Quality, Waterproofing,
  • Cons:  Sizing,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  Bigger than expected

Experience:   Got these pants for my son. He loves them. They kept him dry all day in pretty slushy conditions. For the price, 70% off, these were a steal but beware of the sizing. The medium is for 6-7 year olds, something like that; however, the larges are quite a jump from the mediums and made for 10-11 year olds. Would be nice to have something for the 8-9 year old range. The waist was a little bigger than the size suggests but the length was a little rediculous. Definitely size down. Probably should have returned for Medium but figure they'll fit better next season. Anyway, for the price these are really nice pants.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Society Womens
  • Pros:  Not to baggy, Quality,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Little Baggy, but it's the sig fit so kind of expected it

Experience:   I got these for my wife who just started boarding. She wanted a mid baggy style so these seemed like a good fit. She got exactly what she expected. I was a little concerned about the 5K waterproofing but for someone that spends alot of time on her butt in slushy conditions these things worked great...not even a hint of being wet. The size chart suggested a medium but the fit was more in the large range...which from our experience all burton pants can be sized down. Overall we were pleased with the quality and fit of these pants.
"Nice, comfortable boots" 3/12/2010

  • Name: 2010 Vans Hi Standard Womens
  • Pros:  Comfortable,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   Got these for my wife who is just starting out. She had rented a couple times and complained about the comfort of the rental boots. She got these on and right out of the box she was surprised at how comfortable they were. Although these are a pretty no frills boot she was surprised at how easy they were to tighten up and how well they worked, i.e. no heel lift, etc. I've heard alot of good things about Vans boots and this only solidifies that Vans is a legit boot company. Think I'll be getting some Vans boots in the near future. Oh yeah, and they came in white...that was a big selling point with her. I would have given these a 5 but I doubt they compare to some of the higher end Vans models. For the price though, they're a 5.
"Nice little lock..." 3/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  Fairly light, Small, Convenient
  • Cons:  Bomb Proof? Probably not.,

Experience:   Basically just wanted to protect my investment. No point spending upwards of $500 on a set up only to have it stolen. For less than $10 you have something that gives you a little piece of mind while you're in grabbing a drink or using the restroom. This lock, if nothing else, is a great deterrent. Why bother with a locked board when the one right next to it is just sitting there. All in all the lock is nice, and pretty light. Not going to stop anyone with some wire cutters, etc. but who carries those around a ski resort. Do yourself a favor and get a lock.

  • Name: 2006 Dakine Mountain Snowboard Stomp
  • Pros:  Materials, They Work...enough said,

Experience:   I've used some really cheap foam stomp pads that are pretty much useless after a few days of riding. These are made from some sort of hard plastic material that really grips your boots and are pretty much bomb proof. Never have an issue with slipping and honestly could probably do a run with just the front foot strapped in with these things. Work great and the green/white ones matched my sierra crew 158 perfectly. I know it's just a stomp pad but for a few bucks why not get ones that looks good and works great.
"Great Board!" 3/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Crew Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Park,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Quality, Price, Overall Ride
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   Was on a 7 or 8 year hiatus from snowboarding and decided to ride a couple days and instantly got hooked again. Rode rentals and then did some research and decided on the Burton Custom so I could have a board that I could pretty much use anywhere. Found out the crew was basically the same board and even built at the burton factory. Figured for the price it was worth a shot and I couldn't be happier. Right out of the gate I noticed how fast this board was. First run I wanted to see how well it could turn/carve and I wasn't disappointed. Once it warmed up I headed over to the park and this thing had really good pop off the jumps/kickers. Long story short, this board is amazing. If you're looking for something you can use on the entire mountain at a great price then look no farther.
