Pros: Looks good, Wide toe box, two zones for boas
Cons: Lots of hot spots, Boa doesn't work, Stiff as hell
Shoe Size: 8.5
Boot Size: 9.5
I was so excited to have found a pair of boots with boas for two zones- toes and ankle. At first everythng was great, the boas worked well, the boot gave the stability and control I needed. But after about a couple days of wear, the boas started to loosen. By the middle of the runs, the boots would be so loose, it felt like I was going to jump out of the boots at every turn. It made my shins and quads burn like hell. And then, because I had to stop and tighten the boots every few min and tight enough that the boots won't slip off, the cable in the boa got kinked. Trying to loosen the boots enough to slip my feet out of the boots was nearly impossible! My husband had to pull them off of me in the parking lot while I cringed and screamed in pain. Also, since the cable got kinked, and obviously, there was something wrong with the boa that it was loosening all the time, I requested replacement parts from Boa back in January. It's November now and I still haven't received the parts. So, DON'T BUY ANYTHING WITH BOAS!!! They have terrible customer service! After all that, I still gave these boots another shot by taking them to the High Cascades. By the second day, My feet and my ankles were black and blue from all the hot spots. I think I will burn these boots!!!
Pros: Good for all conditions, Doesn't catch endge, Flexible
OMG! This is a dream come true! It's perfect in every way possible! It's got the camber under the feet to give it a good pop for parks and powder and also provides incredible stability in the parks and icy conditions, but then the reverse camber under the feet lets you glide through anything- groomed, ungroomed, ice, slush, pow, you name it! I demo-ed this board at High Cascades over the summer and fell in love with it and can't wait to get it when the price drops a bit!
This is such an adorable beanie! I was hesitant to get it without trying it on because I have a pretty small sized head and most beanies are too big on me, but it fits pretty well. It doesn't give me the hat head because it's a bit loose. I love the slouchy back. It's purple and that's perfect for me!
After having used the green super feet inserts for several years and loving them, I bought these to try. It's pink, and it's for women, so why not? They provide a bit more arch support than the green ones, but the front toe padding part is a bit thicker, so my toes felt a bit pinched in certain shoes. I take them out and rotate between shoes. I especially like them in my hiking boots!
Pros: keeps the feet from sliding forward, arch support, not bulky
These are life savers! My boots felt a bit smaller than I would've liked, so the store clerk suggested putting these in instead of the regular inserts that the boots come with. They keep my feet back and prevent them from sliding forward which really haves my toes. My feet never feel tired or achy at the end of the day. I put these inserts in all my boots, hiking shoes, and running shoes. They also absorb shocks very well- would be great for jumps and jibs!
This fits my small nose very well and seals all around the face. It's comfortable to wear and I love the colors. I especially like the sensor mirror which really increases visibility on cloudy days. I highly recommend these!
Name: 2010 686 Smarty Original Cargo Snowboard Pants Women's
Pros: Good pocket placement, Breathable and waterproof, Comfortable
Pant Fit: Just right
My Size: L

Description: Baggy, loose fitting
I love these pants! These have coverted me to a life-time 686 fan! They are so well designed with perfect pocket placements, little features such as elastic in the waist, boa holes at the shin etc. that make these pants very special. I wore these in the blizzard white-out and they kept me warm and dry. I would totally buy these in every color!
Name: 2010 Burton Lexa EST Snowboard Bindings Women's
Pros: tool free adjustment of straps, Channel binding, Toe cap and top of foot
Cons: Toe cap comes off easily,
Everything about this binding is well designed in theory. I am a big fan of the channel binding system which allows for pretty much infinite number of stances. I bought this binidng to go with my Burton Feelgood. One complaint I have about the binding is that the toe cap comes off my boot quite easily no matter how tight I put them on. I'm still not sure if I really like this binding or not...
This is my first board. I am a beginner/intermediate boarder. I first purchased the Burton Lipstick (V-Rocker) and took it out out a very icy day. I had a very difficult time controlling the Lipstick and did not enjoy all the popping of the v-rocker, so I returned it and purchased the Feelgood. I love this board! It feels much more stable and I like that it's cambered. It rides well through both pow or ice. This board is probably more for intermediate to advanced riders.
I wore these gloves in mid to high 30s weather with glove liners. Though it was wet and snowy, these gloves did not keep m fingers warm. I really like the design and the construction of the curved fingers, but I would only wear these on 40+ days.
This is a very well constructed belt, no plasticy fake leather crap, but real genuine leather and durable metal for the tool parts. Looks great with snowboarding pants or just with jeans. Clever design allows for one to take the metal tool parts off without having to take the entire belt out of the loops. I like it!!! Other reviews said they run small, but I didn't find that to be true. I ordered large and inside the belt, it says it's for waist 32 to 40 inches! I had to go get more holes made on the inside, but I'm still happy with the belt!
I always carry these when I'm on the slopes. They fit nicely in the backpacks or in the pockets and it does its job when you don't have any real tools handy. I wouldn't use these as the only tools, I would re-check the screws once I've got access to real tools. Also, if the screw's on really tight, these won't provide strong enough grip.
Pros: Cushy, Keeps feet warm, Tight compression on the calves
Cons: A bit scratchy,
Fit: Just right
My Size: L
Fits Like: L
Description: Just right
My husband swears by anything made by Smartwool, so we bought 3 pairs of these socks for each of us and we've been wearing them for two seasons. They wash well, and last well. I've never experienced my feet feeling cold in the snow. My feet tend to sweat a lot, so I actually find these socks to be too thick for me, but that's just me. Also, I have pretty big calves for a woman, so when I wear these socks, they provide slight compression on the calves which is nice. They are long enough to come up to my knees- I'm 5'8. Wool is a bit scratchy for me, but I only notice it when I first put it on. I don't notice it during the day when I'm riding. I would highly recommend these socks.
I really love these gloves. With a thin pair of glove liners, they fit really well. I really loved the snazzy design as well- the color and the style. The only complaint is that the fingers are too long for my hands. I do have short fingers, so maybe that's the problem. But I have trouble with dexterity when I wear these gloves...
This is a really good-looking helmet that does its job like it's supposed to. It keeps my head warm and protected. Many times, it's saved my skull from cracking! I never notice any hot spots even with all day of riding. After many consecutive days of riding, I've been able to take out the liner and wash it without a problem. I really like this helmet and I would definitely buy again. I also like that they make white.
Pros: Graphics, Good for all conditions, Good edge bite
Cons: Graphics, Stiff,
I demo-ed this board over the summer and I really liked it. As with any other Burton camber boards, it has a pretty good pop, stability in all conditions, and god edge bite. As a girl, I didn't really care for the graphics, but I imagine this will be pretty thrilling for most boys. I did notice the board is a bit stiff, but that may be because I'm used to women's boards. I found it extremely difficult to butter with this board.
Name: 2011 Burton Lexa EST Snowboard Bindings Women's
Pros: Pretty colors, Toe cap, Comfortable
I own the 2010 Lexa EST bindings which are pretty good, but I hate that the toe cap slips off all the time. There were noticeable improvements that were made to the toe cap that the 2011 models don't slip off the toe. This is a good binding to have for beginner to intermediate riders- it's responsive, but not as resonsive as 2011 Escapade EST bindings which are super responsive- you think it, and it will happen.
Pros: Good for everything, Fairly flexible, Great colors
This is the first board I bought as a beginner and it's taken me through all types of terrains as I progressed. Camber makes it pretty stable even in very icy conditions and it has a good pop that is also good for parks! Though, it's a bit heavier than I expected, but it may also be because I bought a 156 which is recommended for my height and weight, but it's still heavy for jumps. All i all, I will be keeping and using this board for many more years. It's the go-to board for all conditions!
Really great pair of pants! Everything 686 makes has a lot of attention paid to details and this is no exception! I bought these for my husband and he really loves them. They are comfortable- great waterproofing and breathability- and they fit very well. Lots of accessible pockets are a big plus, too!
Description: Just right, not too baggy, but baggy enough
This is a very good value pair of pants. I was a bit hot and sweaty on a sunny 45+ day, but was ok with unzipping the vents. My only complaint is that there aren't enough pockets on these pants, so I had to keep my $ and things in my jacket or bag. Other than that, I really like the purple color!
I was pleasantly surprised with this pair of goggles. They don't fog up and I don't have any hot spots that rub or make it uncomfortable to wear. I can wear this 7-9 hours without noticing any discomfort. The only complint I have is that my nose doesn't quite fit perfectly around the goggles. Perhaps these are not made for Asian female faces...
