"Dakine Overload Convertible" 3/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  Splits into 2 bags, Wheels,
  • Cons:  Don't come with shoulder strap,

Experience:   Great bag just got it for a total BARGAIN. Fits all of my snow gear in it easily. Don't even have to use the whole bag only using the bottom half of it, might use the other half to take my mates board overseas for him cause he don't have a bag yet. I would have liked for it to come with a shoulder strap so I can carry the bag over-snow cause can't exactly wheel the bag through snow, and a lot of on-mountain accommodation in Australia.
"BEST HEADPHONES!!!!!!" 8/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Skullcandy Aviator w/ Mic 3 Heaphones
  • Pros:  Great sound, bass, treble, Look P!MP, Full iPod control
  • Cons:  NONE,

Experience:   Just received these headphones in the mail today, I was a bit sceptical when I bought them. Thought that I might have been paying too much. Skullcandy is known for low quality sound and high quality fashion, but that is not the case with these headphones, they look absolutely awesome, in my opinion the best looking headphones Skullcandy has produced. Also, the sound is extremely good quality, it's so crisp, I can parts of my favourite trance songs that I didn't even know existed before these headphones. Been wearing them now for about 3 hours since I opened them after work and they are still as comfortable as when I first put them on. Also the quality of materials is great, stainless steel, leather ear pads, the polycarbonate also looks awesome. I am a very critical person and I think these are perfect, definitely worth the $$$, I would recommend them to anyone!

  • Pros:  none,
  • Cons:  bad grip,

Experience:   I had this stomp pad on a hire board and honestly i thought it sucked, compared to a good spiked stomp pad this was terrible, do yourself a favor and buy a better one

"Smith Prodigy" 3/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Smith Prodigy
  • Pros:  Great Peripherals, Never Fog, Big
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   These goggles are great they fit so good, i love a nice big goggle. They never fog up and they got great vision. Wouldn't mind riding with these forever I don't see anything that could be improved on them
"Great Glove" 3/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Titan
  • Pros:  Keeps snow out always, lots of great features, Warm and dry, Comfortable
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   I have this glove and I have never had any better. I've never ever had snow in them, my hands have not gotten wet in ANY conditions. The goggle wipers are great for when your in shitty rainy conditions, or heavy powder. Also its the most durable rubber palm I've ever used. Overall I must say very practical glove but not that attractive, I got them in black
"great tshirt" 8/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Heli-Drop
  • Pros:  good material, great design,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  fits just right

Experience:   Great looking t-shirt, got it free with ski bum status. Wear it all the time, not much more you can say really.
"How could they get better?" 6/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Wigwam Snow Xenon Pro
  • Pros:  nice padding, keep feet dry, lightweight
  • Cons:  none,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  These socks fit perfectly in every spot

Experience:   you can rock these socks for like 7 hours before you even start noticing any real moisture, they are very good at keeping my feet dry. And after a full days riding i didn't notice any pressure points on the socks, the fact that they have pretty much seamless toe closure really helps. I'd recommend these socks to a friend or anyone else. I ordered 10 pairs of these socks just recently because i saw them at about $5 each couldn't pass up the price so i went crazy.
"Hire Board: Beginners ONLY" 4/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  forgiving flex, durable,
  • Cons:  only good for a beginner,

Experience:   I hired this board in my first week of riding. I thought it was great at the time because I hadn't tried anything else and I was starting out. But now that I have ridden many more boards it is obvious that this board is purely for beginners. Anything past 5 days riding if you learn fast is too long to spend on this board in my opinion. Sure it is great for progression but you quickly get to a point where this board would hold you back. After all that said, the board had a nice flex and seemed to be really durable. So even if you buy this board for those few days might still be worth, and why not just absolutely try to destroy it:P thats what i would do if I bought it, because would have no use for it after that first week riding. I would only suggest buying this board if you are trying boarding the first time and you want a cheap board instead of a hire board.

oh yeah forgot to add that this board seemed really heavy. But might be because i had a size just a bit to big for me.

"Union Sierra Contact SL" 3/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Union Sierra Contact SL
  • Pros:  Sturdy, look awesome, strong straps, flexy, cheap
  • Cons:  hard to adjust on mountain,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   This binding is a great cheap binding for the freestyle rider. With it's soft flex it is forgiving in the park, its great for a really flexible board. I have them on a Sierra Stunt and they work awesome on there. I got a L/XL, they are heaps light which is also great for park, well for anything really. But they are not that great for freeriding, could easily say that with the soft flex they aren't responsive enough. If you are aiming to put these on a freeride board i suggest to look at something stiffer. oh yeah and the price to quality is great :D
"Stickers" 3/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Special Blend Lg Filled Icon 12 Pk
  • Pros:  Massive stickers, great quality, heaps for the price

Experience:   awesome stickers they are totally worth it for the price you pay, and as mentioned before they are huge! love em gunna buy another pack see if i get some different ones, cheers sierra
"Sierra Stunt" 3/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Stunt Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Halfpipe,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  GREAT flex, Easy to do butters, Sexy graphics
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   The Sierra Stunt is a great freestyle board, with really nice soft flex which makes it perfect for the park. It handles really well, and is also forgiving for the progressing freestyle rider. The board as a reverse camber board spins like mad, you just can't stop. Overall the Sierra Stunt is a really fun ride, no one would regret giving it a shot

I want to buy this for my next board just have a couple questions. What is the base? is it durable? Is it a good proforence board? and is it highly recognized?

"Hire Board" 3/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome Crail
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Powder
  • Pros:  Good turning, ok pop, good all mountain
  • Cons:  not that flexible,

Experience:   I rode this board for a week as a hire board and it was ok, the pop was alright, I mostly used it for all mountain riding, didn't go in the park at all so can't comment on its performance there. But it handled pretty well everywhere else, had powder 1 day and it was ok. Pretty stable at high speeds, which i like. Would be a bit better if it was a tad more flexible. overall not a bad board , great for the beginner to intermediate rider
"My Rental Board" 3/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton LTR-L
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Cheap, Tough, Flexible, Beginner Board
  • Cons:  Choppy at high speeds,

Experience:   I Hired this board for two weeks riding at Mt Hotham in Australia in my first two weeks riding and it was very good as a beginner board at the time. But now having used better boards I look back and realise this board could ONLY EVER be used as a beginner board... If its not your first week or two of riding do not use this board it will hold you back. It's perfect for a beginner, really durable and forgiving. But you will not progress that much past beginner riding very much because of the lack of control when reaching higher speeds. I strongly recommend not getting this board if you have had anything more than 10 days riding.
"Great All mtn Board" 3/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow Strike
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  all mountain, quick turns, Good for all levels of riding
  • Cons:  Sintered base would be nice for more speed,

Experience:   Great all round board, but definitely want another board for park specific riding. Works well in pretty much all conditions, great turning, and very sturdy on choppy terrain.

Oh yeah also it looks a lot better in real life than it does on the images, if you watch the video review on here you can get a lot better idea of how it looks ;)

  • Use:  Butters,Halfpipe,Jibs,Jumps,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  great flex, great for switch,
  • Cons:  only 2 sizes,

Experience:   This board is perfect for park, with a great flex for a lighter rider, and the reverse camber makes buttering easy. Overall great park board
"Salomon Patrol" 3/21/2010

  • Name: 2010 Salomon Patrol
  • Pros:  great comfort, warmth,

Experience:   Great helmet, can take everything out and wash it so doesn't end up stinking and good ventilation

After my third week riding, the velcro from inside the helmet came off so the lining doesnt stay properly in the helmet when you take it off :( other than that its still working great

  • Name: 2010 Skullcandy Smokin Buds

Experience:   These headphones have good sound, but they can break easily thats the only problem, other than that, they rock
"NXT AT" 3/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow NXT AT
  • Pros:  Responsive, Very adjustable, Quick in/out
  • Cons:  Teeth on the straps wear easily,
  • Flex:  stiff

Experience:   Great binding, you can get in and out of them so quickly. For me they were heaps responsive. Also lots of people say that flows don't fit right etc etc I think that you just need to keep dialing them in till they are perfect, every time someone says flows suck they had only spent a day or two on them and probably never adjusted them fully!
"Cool belt" 3/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 686 Crypt Snow Tool
  • Pros:  Tools on the belt, looks good,
  • Cons:  sizing,

Experience:   Yeah the sizing on this belt is a bit weird, I need a L/XL with 33 waist. but the tools are heaps nifty

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Party
  • Pros:  Good material, warm, durable
  • Cons:  you look like a pirate,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M

"warm not hot" 3/17/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Grabber Handwarmer
  • Pros:  they don't get so hot your hands sweat,
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   I usually use these on cooler days, they keep my hands at the perfect temperature, such a good idea, worth the couple bucks each
"grippy n ugly" 3/17/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow Circle
  • Pros:  really grippy, easy application, stays on well
  • Cons:  doesn't look the best,

Experience:   I've used this stomp pad on one of my friends boards, and helped him put it on, pretty good apart from the look of it
"Awesome Boots" 3/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow Rift Coiler Two Zone
  • Pros:  Two zone system, Fast to get in/out, no heel lift!!!!!
  • Cons:  none,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10.5-11
  • Boot Size:  11

Experience:   I just bought these boots recently, I sit half way between 10.5 and 11 in the sizing chart, and the 11's fit me perfectly so i think they are a tiny bit tighter fit like 1/4 of a size. Well, they fit me great, you can get them heat moulded, although i haven't done it yet should make them even more comfortable. They lace up super fast with boa system and the velcro strap makes sure they dont get loose as the boa fails that tiny bit during the day. There is no heel lift because of the gel pads in the liner which is awesome! and i got plenty of room to move my toes. overall great boot, worth the money
"Awesome leash/lock" 3/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Dakine Guardian Leash / Lock
  • Pros:  Coiled, so it extends, Easy to use lock, Protection for your board!
  • Cons:  nothin,

Experience:   I just got this leash/lock combo and everything about it is great. The easy to use lock is awesome for keeping your board safe when your getting lunch or something. Also, because its combination you can't lose the keys and the lace tightener is great for getting your boots on nice and tight. Also its sturdier than other board locks i've used. Overall, love it!
"great stomp pad" 9/20/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Dakine BFly Snowboard Stomp
  • Pros:  sticks well, grips well,

Experience:   Bought the Butterfly Stomp pad a while back. Unlike the stomp pad I had previously that cost me $20 from a store this one actually holds to the board and looks sweet at the same time. I found the grip was fine, Just make sure you position it correctly before you stick it down, unlike me...
"average" 8/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Zip Snowboard Tool
  • Pros:  fittings,
  • Cons:  cant grip well,

Experience:   Its got all the fittings you need but the big problem with this tool is that you can't grip it well. I had trouble tightening the screws on my bindings tight enough with it. I'd recommend a different tool that is easier to grip
"good scraper" 8/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine 10in Snowboard Scraper
  • Pros:  sharp, wide,

Experience:   Good sharp scraper, the width of it is very good, can scraper a lot of the board at a time, or a little bit at a time by using the other end. If it gets blunt you can just sharpen it easily with a file. Overall great scraper don't know how it could be improved.
"Okay bag" 8/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Sierra Logo Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  light, shoulder strap, roomy

Experience:   Got a free one with purchase, wouldn't use it on an airline. But for travelling in a car its all the protection you need. Its lightweight and has a shoulder strap so its easy to carry your board around in it
"Great little stone" 8/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Pocket Stone
  • Pros:  works well,

Experience:   Great little tool for tuning your edges, can get em nice and smooth so they don't ever catch on a rail. Definitely worth the small price!
"reallllllly warm jacket" 8/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Audex Motorola Down Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  warm, pockets, hand warming pockets
  • Cons:  fit a bit small,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  fits a bit small because its so insulated

Experience:   Best down jacket i've ever worn. Although i bought it on sale with no audio gear so i dunno how well that works. Without the audio gear though this is the warmest jacket i've ever worn, its like its got its own atmosphere inside it. its impenetrable by the weather!
"Great jacket!" 8/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sessions Replay Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  lots of pockets, looks cool, room for layering
  • Cons:  non removable hood, some pockets dont have zips,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  this jacket fit me just right

Experience:   I love this jacket, looks so good. There is room for me to wear extra jumpers and stuff underneath if its too cold, but it doesnt look like a parachute on me. Would be nice though if the hood was removable, but that's not really an issue. Also some pockets dont have zips but i just kept tissues in those so not a big problem.
"great quality scraper" 8/14/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Metal Scraper
  • Pros:  scrapes well,

Experience:   scrapes really well because it is metal. But some people say not to use metal scrapers. In my opinion this scraper worked a lot better than your typical plastic scraper. It's also useful when repairing your board base with p-tex
"Great Tool" 8/14/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Edge Tuner Tool
  • Pros:  Easy to use,

Experience:   Great tool for tuning your edges, came with my Dakine tuning kit, the files are replaceable so you dont need to buy a new tool when they get blunt just the replacment files which is good. Easy to use and the files work well.
"Good quality files" 8/14/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Dakine Replacement Snowboard Files
  • Pros:  good quality,

Experience:   work well for their prupose, not much else you can say really. Worked we for me for probably around 12-16 edge tunes
"Awesome tool" 8/13/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Torque Driver
  • Pros:  small, strong, great grip

Experience:   This tool is definitely the best tool I've ever used (comparing with some of my mates) the handle lets you get a strong grip so you can really tighten screws, or loosen tight screws. And it has every little piece you could need when it comes to snowboards. Has helped me and my mates out having this tool on me every time I go boarding.
"free with order" 8/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 2XL Spoke Earbuds
  • Pros:  okay sound,
  • Cons:  not for riding,

Experience:   these headphones aren't bad, but they aren't good either. They are okay for just general listening to music, but you can get better sound quality, comfort and functionality. Would be nice if they had iPod control, most decent headphones seem to nowadays. Overall just your run of the mill average headphones.
"suck" 8/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010

  • Cons:  crappy sound, uncomfortable,

"awesome board!!" 8/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Lib Tech Banana Magic Enhanced BTX Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Butters,Jibs,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  edge hold, flexible,
  • Cons:  expensive,

Experience:   Demo'd this board last ski trip, I usually ride a sierra stunt, and this board absolutely annihilated it. If only it wasn't so expensive. But i guess you get what you pay for. If i could afford this board i would buy it in a heartbeat, loved riding it. Great flexibility and edge hold, just such a versatile board.
"got stuck" 8/10/2011

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Micro Lock
  • Pros:  easy use,
  • Cons:  jammed,

Experience:   Had this lock and on the second day using it, it jammed and I had to get bolt cutters from ski repair to cut the cable. Pretty annoying.
"great board" 8/10/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Park,Powder,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Great pop,
  • Cons:  top sheet chips easy,

Experience:   Borrowed this board from my mate while I was in NZ, I usually ride a Sierra Stunt. In comparison this board had a lot more pop for me because it is stiffer. Buttering seemed to be just as easy as the stunt for me. This board also held a better edge from what I could tell and it handled better in powder because of stiffness, I didnt get as tired riding this board because i didnt need to absorb as much of the terrain with my legs. Wish i got this board instead of my stunt. Only downside to this board is that it's topsheet damages easily, but the way i think about it, for such a cheap price who cares, if it dies just buy another!
"Good bindings" 8/10/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  comfortable,
  • Cons:  ratchets eat teeth on straps,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I've spent 3 weeks riding on these bindings in NZ, and I only found two things wrong with them. Firstly the ratchets started eating away at the straps pretty quickly but thats not too bad i guess. Secondly the forward lean mechanism would quickly come loose unless it was extremely tightened, after that though it was okay. Other than those two problems about them everything else was perfect, great flex, comfortable, snow wouldnt sit in the binding, never came loose. Overall despite the two problems they are a great pair of bindings and I would recommend them to anyone.
"great headphones" 4/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Skullcandy Icon Headphones
  • Pros:  stylish, quality, comfortable
  • Cons:  could be more secure,

Experience:   These headphones have quality sound and they look good too. the only problem i have with them is they could be a bit tighter on my head. If im riding with them they wont stay on that well unless im wearing over a beanie. For use outside of snowboarding they are perfect, i especially like them just because they sit on your ears i hate headphones you need to put in your ears. These have never made my ears sore even after using them for extended periods of time
