"Would Not Recommend" 5/3/2014

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Stunt Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Low Speeds,Park
  • Pros:  Catch free riding,
  • Cons:  Bottom delaminated,

Experience:   Bought this as a park stick to supplement my Sierra Crew. Not too impressed with the board, it is an older board that I wouldn't invest in especially considering the cheap construction with an extruded base that separated after the first season. It does not do anything better than my T. Rice which was only a few dollars more than the current price. The Stunt is fairly flexible but does not have much pop or responsiveness.

  • Name: 2011 Rome S90 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Good Control,
  • Cons:  Straps sometimes break,

Experience:   I have used these bindings on my Sierra Crew, Lib Tech T. Rice Pro, and current Darker Series C3 BTX. They are comfortable and give me good control for extreme carving and general mountain riding. The front rubber strap can be used over the toe but I find they are not as good as a formed cap strap. I like the color but some of it flaked off fairly soon after getting the binding. I also have a pair of slightly older Rome 390's and these are functionally identical. Replaced two straps that cracked over the last four years but both times the shop on the mountain was able to replace the strap.
"All Mountain Stick" 1/1/2012

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Crew Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,High Speeds
  • Pros:  Positive Camber for bombing groomers, Good for jumps, Sintered Base Holds Wax

Experience:   This is one of the best values around, a board manufactured by Burton with a sintered base that can be coupled with the Rome/Sierra S90 binding at a great combo price. The board is stiff enough to feel solid bombing down the hill, but you can still butter it with a bit more effort and landings are smooth. I wax the board every two to three days of riding and often sail past skiers on the flats. The topsheet has shown no signs of delamination, there is one chip on the nose from running into something that has not peeled up. This is the type of board you should have as your main all mountain weapon, get one before they run out of stock.
