"Great pants for the price" 6/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (5) No

  • Name: 2010 Sessions Achilles Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  Lots of pockets, Adjustable waist, Not bulky
  • Cons:  Issue with one of the vent zippers,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Slightly baggy

Experience:   I bought these at a ridiculous price (under $40, wish more colors were available when I placed my order) and they will be my go-to pants for next season. Not too bulky with enough room for layering/thermals if needed. Definitely like the adjustable waist. They are a bit baggy but not clown-pants baggy (or Hammer time baggy).

Comments & Questions

letsgoride
hi i was just wondering how baggy it is... I dont want it to be really baggy that it restricts my movement but enough that you can move freely so does this product allow you to move freely?

ctoma
Baggy is a subjective term. They are not crazy-baggy but baggy enough to give you freedom of movement.

"Favorite Board!" 3/18/2016
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2015 Lib Tech Skate Banana Snowboard Random
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Edge hold, Float, Good everywhere

Experience:   I took this board from the hard-packed hills of Michigan to the powder fields of Utah and it performs everywhere. The edge hold is fantastic, props to Magne-Traction. Floats well in the light UT powder, stable without chatter on the icy hills of MI. The profile is prominently rocker in the middle with mild camber toward the tips. Overall a fun board to ride.
"Do-it-all Board" 3/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (9) No

  • Name: 2011 Rome Postermania Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Jumps,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Light, good flex, stable, responsive,

Experience:   I received this board just before heading to Northern MI for a weekend snowboard trip. Started out riding the groomers and immediately noticed how smooth and easy it is to ride this board. Took it to the small features park next (novice park rider), hit some rails and boxes. 50/50s easily (catch-free edges). Hit some small kickers, landings felt solid. Good pop, too.

  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8

  • Name: 2006 Dakine Mountain Snowboard Stomp
  • Pros:  Traction, Appearance, Stickiness
  • Cons:  None,

"Nice Bucket for the kids" 4/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Red Trace 0.5 Youth
  • Pros:  Fit, Protection, Padding
  • Cons:  Lack of available colors (at that time),

Experience:   Purchased 2 helmets for my sons, age 4 and 6. Good snug fit, nice amount of padding. Only complaint (minor one at that) is white was the only color available in their size (my kids have large noggins), at least the helmets are white with grey graphics instead of the light blue graphics...
"Nice Therms" 4/21/2010

"Great Goggles" 4/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2009 Giro Score PK Goggles Men's
  • Pros:  comfortable, great price, do not fog up

Experience:   Really comfortable goggles at a great price ($25.50 during the 70% off sale). No issues with them fogging up. I bought the Rose/Silver lens (good for sunny/partly sunny days).

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Good flex for butters, Stiff enough for carving, Stable at high speeds
  • Cons:  Nada,

Experience:   Reverse camber for the people. I took the 155 out for a few days of mostly icy/hardpack riding, and it performed like a champ. It was great all around the mountain. Very stable on bombing runs (yes, you can go fast.). Carved really nice. You should carry some toast with you, because this board loves butters. Great pop, too! I got this in a little bit of freshies, and the RC was nice to have for lift.
"Summer go-to shoes" 7/28/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sanuk Pick Pocket Shoes Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish

Experience:   This is my second pair of Sanuks, and I couldn't be happier. I looked around to see what was new since the last pair I bought three years ago, and nothing really felt like the Sanuks. I tried Simple and other brands, but nothing compares to the comfort and overall vibe. I basically research to death if I am buying anything, and Sanuks are the most comfy, all around shoe for easy play. If you are on the fence about any kind of Sanuks, order a pair, and you will not be disappointed.

  • Name: 2012 Spy Mccoy Sunglasses

"Carry-on goodness" 7/28/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Roller Pack
  • Pros:  Sturdy, Interior space,

Experience:   I use this as my carry-on luggage when I am on trips. It has very sturdy wheels for me to drag around on my snowboarding trips. The small size is amazing that how much I can actually fit in there. And the slip compartment allows me to organized my stuff with ease. There's a cool labtop bag included, it's a pretty sweet bag with a strap. The zipper is strong and smooth. The only cons I found is if I fill up the bag, it will exceed the carry on size limit on most airlines.
"Functional triangle" 7/27/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Burton Tri Scraper
  • Pros:  It scrapes wax,

Experience:   Functional scraper, nothing special. Works as advertised. Gets dull after use as all plastic scrapers do. Run it up and down some sandpaper to get a sharp edge and it works well again.
"Great genes... errr, jeans" 7/27/2016

  • Name: 2010 Matix Miner Jeans Men's
  • Pros:  Rugged, Durable, Style
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  As advertised

Experience:   Matix denim is extremely durable and will last a long time to harsh skating. The miner fit is my favorite and is more relaxed compared to the gripper, it has some more room to move around in and is super comfortable. The indigo has a sweet gold backing that shows through the denim giving it a unique look and is great for those who cuff the bottoms of the pant. And the warranty is lifetime.

  • Pros:  Warm, Comfy,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M

  • Name: 2014 Nixon Sentry Watch
  • Pros:  Stylish, Inexpensive,

Experience:   This is a perfect watch for everyday wear. I like watches that are a little on the bigger side. This one is good without being too big and in your face. I got the Rose gold / gunmetal / brown and it has a good fancy look but can still be pulled of casually. Two thumbs up.
"Lens change in a second!" 7/26/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Oakley Airbrake Snowboard Goggles
  • Pros:  Fast lens change, Great peripheral vision, Stylish

Experience:   Took these all over Utah last year. Fit great, great visibility, and great versatility with the interchangeable lenses. We were out in everything from dense mist to blazing sun, and this set of goggles was all I needed. I found it a little tricky the first time, to get the lenses locked down right when changing them. I recommend practicing it once time, before you are piling out of the car and heading for the lift.

"Bomb proof!" 7/25/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2015 Mountain Hardwear Jalapeno Gloves
  • Pros:  Warm, Moisture wicking, Waterproof

Experience:   I've worn these gloves in the harshest of conditions and they are awesome. Maybe my hands sweat more than usual but with other ski gloves they were fine for a bit then they would get wet; then my hands would suffer. Not these! They stay remarkably dry on the inside and keep the outside moisture from coming in if/when I eat it trying to show off. The nose wipe this is for real as well. I didn't know what to expect but it's super soft and wipes all nose liquid after you race your buddies down the hill.
"Good boot" 7/25/2016

  • Name: 2015 Adidas ZX Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Light, Good heel hold,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8.5
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   These men's boots have on-point performance and comfort ready to go right out of the box. Inspired by the iconic ZX runner, they feature a customizable speed lacing system, ultra-light cushioning and a molded tongue that wraps the leg. They're very responsive, lightweight and comfortable.
"Boom! The search is over!" 7/25/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2015 Union Factory Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Comfort, Adjustable, Strong & Beefy
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These bindings are great. Fit is right (and very adjustable), the comfort is there (padded, canted footbed does serious work), and the performance is better than anything I've owned prior to these. I strapped these suckers to a Lib Tech TRS and haven't looked back since. The responsiveness and control I feel under and between my feet is unparalleled by anything I've ridden before, and my feet never seem to get sore, which was a problem I've had with previous binding/boot set ups. The adjustable toe strap is the key to this, I believe, as my wider and bulkier feet often lose circulation on a long day of riding. Not with these suckers, however. I can go all day and end up with nothing but that good old fashioned foot stank when I finally peel off the boots at the end of the day.
"Awesome bag" 7/24/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Burton Wheelie Flyer Travel Bag Men's
  • Pros:  Space, Size, Quality

Experience:   Amazing bag! Fits in almost all overhead storage (really small planes will still need to be checked). Can fit a lot more into this bag than expected. The cram zones do a good job of compressing you clothes. Opening flat and zippered sections help with ease of packing. The bag also has a little attachment that makes it easy to sling a backpack or messenger bag on it. Handle is strong and the wheels make the bag glide amazingly. Pattern is also really unique making it really identifiable in those instances you have to check. Highly recommend this bag for people who do a lot of travel for business or that do not like checking bags while bringing a lot for a week trip.
"Great snowboard movie" 7/24/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 9999 Videograss The Last Ones Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Great selection of riders, 8mm B&W footage,

Experience:   Overall an awesome DVD. Great selection of riders. The editing is tight. The editors took some real care in cutting this film together with the appropriate soundtrack. All the tricks pop off the screen with the perfect music cue. The editing is also not too fast which is a big deal when it comes to watching some many tricks back to back.
"Super belt!" 7/24/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2015 Burton Embossed Leather Belt
  • Pros:  Stylish, Well made,

Experience:   Awesome belt with an awesome belt buckle. Keeps my pants up and looks good at the same time. I've received some comments about the buckle with the Burton logo (why are people looking down there?).
"Sweet boardshorts" 7/23/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Planet Earth Crawford Boardshorts
  • Pros:  Quality, Style,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  As advertised

Experience:   These boardshorts are exactly what I was looking for. They are a couple of inches shorter than your average boardshorts, but that is exactly what I wanted and couldn't be happier. The material is really high quality. It's kind of hard to explain, but I would say it's sort of like a soft canvas type of feel. It has a zipper fly and side cargo pocket.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Process Full Zip Hoodie
  • Pros:  Warm, Pockets,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  As advertised

Experience:   This jacket is so great. I have had mine for 3 or 4 years now and it's still in great condition. This jacket has lots of pockets which is great but it took me a while to find the mp3 player pocket. Overall a great jacket and a definite buy.

  • Name: 2010 Volcom Enowen Jeans
  • Pros:  Sturdy, Well made, Comfort
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Snuggles the plums just right

Experience:   Volcom put together a great pair of jeans. Comfortable and sturdy, these have held up after many cycles through the washer. Nice straight leg, none of those sissy skinny jean looking pant legs. Overall a really good pair of jeans.
"Walk like a mountain goat" 7/22/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2015 Tubbs Flex ESC Snowshoes
  • Pros:  Compact, Lightweight, Traction

Experience:   I have this model and also some MSR Evo Tours. If I know that I won't be going over deep snow or up mountain sides, I honestly prefer this model. The gait is awesome and I never trip. The shoes maintain clearance and have some of the best traction. I've used these ascending solid ice. If you'll be doing a lot of uphill climbing, invest in a pair with a heel-raiser so that you won't strain as much. These shoes also do surprisingly well in deeper snow, but they don't have flotation tails and aren't the best for it.
"Decent outdoor speaker" 7/22/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2014 Skullcandy Air Raid Bt Speakers //
  • Pros:  Water resistant (but not waterproof), Bluetooth, 14 hour battery life, rechargeable

Experience:   This speaker is loud. What blew me away is the simplicity of the design and the ruggedness. The sound quality is excellent, loud and full of rich highs and low. I just found out that you can pair two together to play music from your favorite bluetooth device. (I use an iphone 6 and 5s & have had no problems pairing) It's actually really easy to connect. Much easier than anticipated. I'm considering buying another just to blast more tunes at the same time. The battery lasts a long time on a full charge. Usually I can squeeze 2 days of all night jamming out of this speaker without recharging. It's not lightweight but that's fine because I would never backpack with this & that's what their smaller speakers are for. Overall, I love this speaker and look forward to what Skullcandy will be producing in the future. They definitely have changed their quality since their first products 10 years ago.
"GoreTex... in a hat?" 7/22/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2014 Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero GoreTex Hat
  • Pros:  Waterproof, Breathable, Moisture wicking
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  As advertised

Experience:   I am entirely satisfied with this hat. It is completely waterproof and very comfortable. One of its best features is that the size is very adjustable, allowing you to always get it fitted just right. Most hats are restrictive in this respect. I also like the fact that I can tilt the sides up and secure with Velcro. The fabric weight is heavier than on most hats of this type, so it holds its shape better and has a better appearance. The only negatives are that since the brim is a bit flexible, strong winds can lift it up. Also, the inner liner is made of a light polyester fleece fabric that may make it too warm in hotter summer weather. The fabric breathes, but still traps some heat near your hair and scalp. In cooler weather, this will not be a problem.
"Toasty warm" 7/21/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2016 Burton GoreTex Under Mittens
  • Pros:  Exceptionally warm, Comfortable,

Experience:   The warmest mittens I own. The liner has individual fingers and has a rubber layer that allows you to hold things (phone) without a fear of slipping and dropping. Seriously warm, almost too warm although I haven't had a chance to use them in extreme conditions yet.
"Wrap-around sun block" 7/21/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Oakley Batwolf Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Coverage, Comfort, Optics

Experience:   Amazing styling, exceptional craftsmanship, I bought these a few years ago and wear them often. Good coverage with the wrap around frame. The O icon is swap-able - not necessary but is nice when you want to change the look.
"Warm as your momma's bosom" 7/21/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 The North Face Tka 100 Microvelour Glacier 1/4 Zip Jacket
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Warm, Comfortable
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  As advertised

Experience:   This is a great lightweight fleece when you just need a little something extra. It is nice and soft and feels good next to skin. It is a no frills pullover so there is not much you need to say about it. No pockets just the center zip so it saves a little on weight. It is still fleece so it will have a bulkyness when packed. Not a bad price compared to a lot of other fleeces on the market these days.
"Gigi Awesomeness" 7/20/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Volcom 9191 Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Locations, Great selection of riders, No filler

Experience:   The best Volcom release since Subjekt Haakonsen. If you're reading this you're probably already familiar with Gigi's work and he doesn't disappoint, not that he ever does. This is more like a snow ballet rather than a breakdancing throw down and the editting and soundtrack really set this apart this year's releases and from others in the past and ones yet to be made. Could be longer, but there is no filler. None of that showing the same trick from three angles business.
"Good flick" 7/20/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 No Correct Way Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Great locations, Good soundtrack,

Experience:   A self styled rock n’ roll brand, the Rome snowboard movies are suitably alternative with a soundtrack to match. Raw filming style and burly riding come together to create a great movie that will make you wish you were born in the seventies.

  • Name: 2010 Celtek Gnar Bag Men's

  • Name: 2013 Neff Daily Earbuds
  • Pros:  Cheap!,

Experience:   These are some cheap ear buds but good enough for plugging in on a plane and not worrying about losing them. Decent but not spectacular sound - but would you expect spectacular from an item under $10? Cool colors if that's your thing.

  • Name: 2014 Burton AK 2L Cyclic GoreTex Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  GoreTex goodness, Fit, Style
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  As advertised

Experience:   They look great, not too baggy, but loose enough to fit around my boots and over the hi-backs on my bindings. The material of these pants feels a lot more durable than the material of the standard Burton Cargo's or any of the Capt. Tripps line. The medium AK 2L pants fit perfect, enough room for base layers out West, but also a good fit solo during the early season and spring in the Midwest. I spent a day sitting in wet snow in above freezing temps, and stayed bone dry. The vents in the legs really do work to help you regulate temps as the day goes on.

  • Name: 2012 K2 Slayblade Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Carving, Light bamboo core,

Experience:   It feels like the same really aggressive stiff ride that the old flat profile K2 Slayblade but there is one difference. It has a little bit more of a lively feeling in the turns and also feels a little bit more catchy. It’s not going to be a huge bump from the flat profile but it’s going to be noticeable. This is for those that like to bomb first but also like to occasionally slow down and carve.

  • Name: 2015 Dakine Adjustable Tune Iron

  • Name: 2012 Oakley Holbrook Shaun White Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Stylish, Comfort, Optics

Experience:   Forget the douchebag's name on these sunglasses, they are awesome. I used to own the White and Blue lens pair of these then sold them and got these brown and gold lens Shaun White editions. Love the classic tortoise color on the frame and the mirror gold lens. I got these to wear casually around the pool and around town. Not something you'd want to wear in the shirt and tie environment, but if you're looking for a good dress down glass, these are great. Frame size is a little large, but you may already know that.

  • Name: 2012 Spy Mccoy Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Optics, Comfort,

Experience:   I bought the black frame/grey polarized model. These things are awesome. I have a large dome so finding sunglasses that fit is not easy. On these, the arms are long enough, the eyes are wide enough, the bridge is wide enough. These fit like they were molded from my head. Very happy. Construction is top notch. I've had Oakleys and Smiths, these are every bit as well built, if not better. It seems like Spy doesn't have nearly the price mark-up that Oakley does. Which benefits the consumer.

  • Name: 2012 Think Thank Ransack Rebellion Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Good selection of riders,
  • Cons:  Transitions too fast,

Experience:   Last year's movie almost made me not buy this years. I hated the music and the 2 disc thing was stupid. This years is far better but still not as good as Stack Footy. These movies are different and usually in a good way. These guys do more tricks per minute than any other film company. The whole movie is non-stop bangers. My only grip about it is it's almost too fast. The transitions between shots happens really fast and it's hard to concentrate at times.

Experience:   A great watch for a great price. I like that this watch doesn't have a leather band so it is the watch I wear whenever I am biking or rock climbing. It is a very durable watch and I use it all the time. I usually wear a heavy watch, but I really like that this watch is light and not too big so I can take it wherever I need. Mine has taken a few hard hits but it is still ticking along. Great quality from Nixon with a little different look.

  • Name: 2014 Nixon Monopoly Watch
  • Pros:  Large, Stylish,

Experience:   I love my watches and own a variety of styles and price ranges. The sign of a great watch is versatility and comfortability. I have worn this watch with my suit and my sweatshirt and I get complements with both. Quality and size is great. If you're a fan of oversized watches, this is probably not for you, but if you want an eye-catching addition to your watch collection this a great find.

  • Name: 2011 Remind Biotech Gel Orthotic Snowboard Boot Insole 3/16 Cush
  • Pros:  Good support, Gel comfort,

Experience:   I'm a big fan on replacing the factory default insoles in all my boots and shoes. These are decent, not quite as comfortable as Superfeet in that Superfeet provide better arch support. These have a nice comfortable gel heel which is why I transferred them from my snowboard boots to my running shoes. Overall, they are pretty good.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Cantbed For EST Bindings
  • Pros:  More natural stance, Less knee pain/strain,

Experience:   I grabbed these as soon as I could after getting EST bindings and board. They really do help position your legs into a more natural position when your legs are spread apart. I noticed a difference on my knees and legs from day 1, especially my back leg. There's no sacrifice in feel, response, or performance. I'd recommend them to anyone who's in the middle riding years or wants to extend the life of your legs.

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Micro Lock
  • Pros:  Keeps creeps away, Small,

Experience:   I have used this in Northern MI where there are some creeps who like to snag snowboards off the rack while people are taking a break. Although a simple wire cutter could snap this cable I think the creeps target boards that are not locked up, so this simply is a visual deterrent. In that case it is effective. Plus it's small so it doesn't take a lot of pocket space.

  • Name: 2015 Outdoor Research WS Gorilla Balaclava
  • Pros:  Warm, Comfortable,

Experience:   Most of the time you will never use this piece, but when the weather turns mean it is your ticket to saving your face from the brutality of the elements. It is designed to be used with goggles, for full frontal face coverage. The breathing vent will ice up on you, and so far there is no design on the market that I am aware of that gets around this reality. But the beauty of the Gorilla is the fact that it has a detachable face cover that you can Velcro off and warm up under your armpit whenever you take a break. The ideal situation would be to have two of these detachable pieces, of course, but that would mean buying two of them.

  • Name: 2011 Nixon Time Teller Watch
  • Pros:  Stylish, Accurate, Durable

Experience:   This is the third Nixon watch in this style I have bought and love it! I also have the all grey with yellow/gold hands and then the black band/face with teal hands face ring and where the teal band holder. Love all three but really like the way this black watch looks. Very classy, low profile yet eye catching watch. As to how easy it is to read: 9.5/10 most people who own an analog watch know where 1-12 are and just see what the hands look like and don't need to see the minute hand appears .025 past the 2. If you are not able to read a watch then don't get this watch because the hour markers are black on black and tricky to see. If you are a fully capable person who can read a watch based off the hands then you will have no problem reading and seeing this watch! The hands are slightly silver metallic looking without being bright silver. If you know Nixon watches you know they make quality watches.

The only quality these have is the volume control/ipod control button/mic in the clunky box on the cord. It does actually work. • Name: 2016 Electric EG3 Goggles
  • Pros:  Wide field of vision, Great optics, Comfortable

Experience:   The EG3 the similar in size and new version of the EG series from Electric will not disappoint. The big difference from the EG2 and the majority of the electric goggle line is that the EG3 uses a suction technology to hold the lens into place on the frame. This is fairly easy to pop in and out and change lens and just as any goggle once the frame it self breaks in a little, it gets easier with everytime you do it. I have the EG2 since it's inception and this is for sure a great new version. You won't be bummed and the fit is as good if not better. Fits with any helmet and i've never had a problem with either lens and frame. Foam is comfy and provides great peripheral vision

Cartels are fantastic do everything bindings. This year's binding features new ratchets/ladders and a very flexible joint in the ankle strap allowing you to flop it over and easily step into the binding. The torsional flex is kept in check by the channel system in the board. Put on a pair of EST bindings on it and you will feel the full potential of this board. It is solid under foot. Experience:   This used to be my go-to travel gear bag before I received a couple of Thrive roller bags (that's a whole other story). This padded snowboard bag features lots of storage compartments, durable wheels and padding to keep your board protected from the dude that hates his job at the airlines. You know what I'm talking about- my bag ends up looking like a bus ran over it after a couple of trips. BUT this bag has been able to handle the wear and tear that TSA does to it. The wheels have been super durable and there are side compartments for my smelly clothes to keep away from my clean board. So far so good.

One thing to mention about the Burton Ambush and all Burton Boots is they have the best reduced footprint technology we have come across. A size 9 on the inside is much closer to a size 8 on the outside. That means less toe and heel drag without the fit being off or weird inside either.

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Good riders,
  • Cons:  Bad editing,

Experience:   I was expecting alot out of this movie. If you look at team videos from Forum or Rome they are on point and make you want to ride those boards. This vid is just OK, but not great. It tries to be street but there are better street videos out there. The AMMO vid is better IMO at street. The back country also is just OK. I don't like how 80% of the riders land back seat on their tricks. I want to see them stomp stuff clean. I think it's a function of the RC tech in the boards but that's another story. My main gripe about the vid is the editing and filming. It's not that great. Alot of the BC shots are way far out. The editing just doesn't flow as well as I like it to.

  • Name: 2015 Swix XF Waxing Iron
  • Pros:  Melts wax,

Experience:   The iron does everything it is suppose to do. Quick warm-up time, good temperature regulation, etc. When using the drip method, it's better to tilt the iron towards the front corner - tilting to the rear corner sometimes drips on the iron feet instead of the ski/snowboard base. Have only tried with universal wax, have not yet tried with fluoro waxes. Before using any wax, I always set the iron low and move in small increments until the wax begins to melt on the iron base to avoid reaching the smoke point of the wax, then I applied a decal with temperature setting for each wax I use on the iron.

I like the heel to toe drop and seems to have a bit of arch that is good for me. These boots will be universally useful for me in winter and in other sloppy seasons. Not sure I could do a lot of long hiking or walking based on my initial impression but they are brand new so hard to say. Experience:   The Jungle Moc can be summed up in three words: Lightweight, comfortable, durable. I've had the same pair for 2 years, though I don't wear them as much as I used to. The first thing I noticed when I bought these shoes was there light weight. They feel much lighter than even the average running shoe. Besides the sole texture wearing down and the shoe looking beat-up from lack of cleaning, there isn't much difference. I don't know how Merrell does it but they absolutely have a winner on their hands here. After 2 years I still don't have pain or feel the shoe losing comfort-ability. I probably wouldn't recommend them for the backcountry or anything, but they did fine on a few day hikes through the Grand Canyon.

  • Name: 2015 Coal Scotty Beanie
  • Pros:  Warm, Soft, Stylin'
  • Cons:  Need more colors,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Warm and stylin'

Experience:   Good beanie, doesn't get stretched out over time. Warm and soft, like your momma's bosom. Wear it slouched for ultimate steeze points. Need more color selections.

  • Name: 2011 Union Force
  • Pros:  Adjustable, Comfortable, Good ratchets
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Said to be the “workhorse” binding of the line, the Union Force is tough, responsive and still highly comfortable to ride in. With a perfect balance between flex and responsiveness, the Force can handle everything from park to pipe to groomers and everything in between. Stage 4 base is a stiffer base with dual density bushings that offer both responsiveness and dampening, magnesium buckles offer smooth, reliable ratcheting and the multi-zone highbacks offer support / flex just where you need it. For the price you cannot beat this binding. Union Force gets you the most bang for your buck, with a binding that you will love for seasons to come.

  • Name: 2016 Dakine Fillmore Trigger Mittens
  • Pros:  Warm!, Comfortable, Trigger finger

Experience:   I took these to Utah as a backup pair of glove/mittens and used them almost every day. Was surprised how warm they are. Comfortable, good fit. Trigger finger is useful when buckling in or out. Also useful when operating a GoPro. Recommended.
"Adjustable times 10" 6/23/2016

  • Name: 2013 Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings Bjorn
  • Pros:  Adjustable, Good ankle strap,
  • Cons:  Fairly heavy, Bad ratchets,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Overall these are decent bindings. Really easy in and out with the auto strap keeping the binding clear for entry. Quick releases are great, a little light to the touch. I had a few issues after a fall the strap would be undone from hitting the ground. Very solid feel with great response. Quality of materials used is great. They don't feel cheap at all. The only downside is how the screw fits into the canter plates. They often pop out from in between the layers of foam and the metal edge on the bottom and can be a pain to get back in afterwards. Overall solid bindings that are highly adjustable for anyone's comfort with a little work. Side note: watch the video instructions for adjustments to the auto strap and it will make complete sense and is a great feature to have once set up properly.
"Great sunglasses with super clarity" 6/23/2016

  • Name: 9999 Smith Dover Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Lens, Clarity

Experience:   I have worn Costa and Oakley sunglasses for years but kept hearing good things about Smith Optic's new Chromapop lenses. Two friends who are fishing guides switched to them and praised the polarization and the optical quality. I decided to order a pair and picked the Dover frames to try. These glasses are very well made and come with warranties similar to Costa. The first thing I noticed was how light they are. Even though these are large frames, they do not feel heavy and were very comfortable for all day wear. I like the material that rests on the nose. It is comfortable and held the glasses in place, even when I was sweating. The optics are exceptional. Polarization is at least as good as my Costas and there is no distortion where the lens curves.
"SUVs for my feet" 6/22/2016

  • Name: 2014 Adidas Terrex Conrax CP Primaloft Hiking Boots
  • Pros:  Supportive, Warm, Comfortable

Experience:   These boots possess all of the qualities I look for in a cold weather/Winter boot, they're waterproof, warm, lightweight, superior traction and look great. I can't stress enough how comfortable these boots have become after a few weeks of wear. My prior experience w/ the Adidas Terrex line is that, in order to hug the foot, they run a bit small/tight so I purchased these a 1/2 size bigger and even then are snug.

  • Name: 2012 Smith Stronghold Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Unique style, Great coverage and view, High quality

Experience:   They offer large coverage and the lenses are super clear and crisp. The frames are comfortable but a little snug on the side of the head. I bought these for an around town sunglasses and I am very satisfied with the quality and the style!

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Central Backpack Men's
  • Pros:  Well built, Comfortable straps, Durable
  • Cons:  Not enough pockets,

Experience:   I use this pack as a carry-on when traveling. It's big enough to hold my tablet, chargers, headphones, snacks, hoodie, water bottles. Could use a couple more pockets. Overall it's a decent backpack.
"Stylish and inexpensive" 6/21/2016

  • Name: 2011 Spy Logan Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Lightweight, Inexpensive

Experience:   Compared to the Oakleys, Smiths, and Electric sunglasses I own these are a great deal and still provide good eye protection from the sun. Stylish, too. Lightweight and comfortable, I keep these in my car for those days I forget to wear sunglasses out of the house.

  • Name: 2013 Oakley Frogskins Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Classic styling, Great lens, Lightweight

Experience:   Classic 80's style frames with Oakley quality lens. The frames are lighter (and feel cheaper) than my other Oakleys but I still love wearing these while enjoying a beer after a day of snowboarding. Wear 'em with confidence to the tiki bar, too.
"Gas Cans - Could be better" 6/21/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Oakley Gascan Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Stylish, Great lens,
  • Cons:  Fit,

Experience:   I love Oakley. However the Gascan just isn't quite right. It fits funny on the face, the stems start to hurt after long periods of wearing and they tend to fall off your face without any ear hooks. However they are one of the most durable glasses I own, and I have a love for popping in lens's that fall out, or stems that break off. Ruby Iridium Lens is great and blocks out a lot of the sun's rays. If your looking for your first pair, these are a good stepping stone into premium branded glasses.

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Mini Tune Kit
  • Pros:  Good torque driver, Small - travels well,

Experience:   Good little kit, I take it everywhere I go. Although small the torque wrench is designed well, better than the bulb style wrenches. Five bits and a 8/10mm wrench come in handy when needed. Went through the all-season rub-on wax quickly and a quick-fix.

  • Name: 2014 Rome Targa Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Adjust-ability beyond words, Canted footbeds, Good straps
  • Cons:  Faulty ratchets, A bit heavy,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   So many options for adjusting these bindings. Canted or flat footbeds, fully rotate the high backs, inserts to stiffen the straps, etc. Adjust them to your liking. The aluminium chassis makes for quick edge-to-edge response while also offering some side-to-side flex. Overall these are awesome bindings although they are on the heavier side. Also, had some issues with the ratchets not working, Rome Customer Service was quick to send me new ratchets.
"Versatile Boot" 6/20/2016

  • Name: 2014 Burton Ruler Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Comfort, Reduced Footprint, Quick Lace
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8.5
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   Comfy, light and with enough support to feel confident to go big when you need to, the Ruler snowboard boots are one of the most versatile boots I've ever ridden. A solid performer all over the mountain, the Ruler excelled in the park and when flying down the piste and I'm sure they would have been fine in the powder too. Burton throws a lot of tech at the Ruler and I noticed this as soon as I put the boot on. The liner has tons of padding in all the right places - plus these boots feel really durable and well made with easy to use speed laces that make getting in and out lightening fast. Suited to any rider, the Ruler offers a great option for anyone who needs a no-nonsense boot that won't let them down no matter what the conditions.
"Sizes run big" 6/17/2016

  • Name: 2010 Quiksilver Scorps Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  Lots of pocket space, Good waterproofing
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Runs large, size down

Experience:   Overall these are good pants once you zero in on the correct size. A medium fits like a large and the pants are quite baggy (think MC Hammer). Good waterproofing, some nice features such as: a small clip type device that allows you to clip the inner part of the pants onto your boot or your boots laces wich comes in pretty handy. Then there are the pockets which arent to big or to small and there are also the right amount of them too. In the pockets by the knees there are pull cords inside which you can use to pull your pants up a bit and keep them at the height you want. The pants also have a very good buckle system which will never fail on you and the built-in belt is a very cool feature.

  • Name: 2014 Electric EG2 Goggles
  • Pros:  Great view, Comfortable, Stylish

Experience:   The Electric EG2 goggles sit on your face comfortably, the strap doesn't feel like it digs in, don't notice as much fatigue (sore spots, having to constantly adjust, eye strain, etc.) and a nice unobstructed view of everything. They breathe well and make riding in adverse or cold conditions much more comfortable. Picked up a spare clear lens for night riding as well and it's easy to switch between lenses.

  • Name: 2016 Union Contact Pro Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Adjustable, Comfortable
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Simply some of the best bindings available. I've tried the Force Pros and Contacts, other brands and models, and these come out on top. They're super light and strong, not too flexy and not too stiff. They have a super comfortable base cushion that dampens impacts and board shocks. These bindings do it all.

  • Name: 2016 Dakine Rover GoreTex Gloves
  • Pros:  Warm!, Comfortable, Dry

Experience:   The Dakine Rover is one of the better Gore gloves out. This years model is a little different than the previous version. No wrist strap closure and slightly tighter fit. The logo isn't stitched on the forefinger either, but rather stamped on. All of these indicate changes to cut cost in manufacture of glove. That said, it is still a very comfortable, and dry glove that includes Nikwax H2O proofing for the leather. Also has the all important wrist lanyard for inadvertent drops.

  • Name: 2015 Oakley Canopy Goggles
  • Pros:  Large field of vision, Comfortable, Lightweight

Experience:   The new Oakley Canopy rocks. It big and oversized with no extra gimmicks. It fits so well on a regular to bigger sized face because it wraps so far around. For its snow it still fits flush with my helmet. After wearing it I put my Splice and Crowbar back on and couldn't believe how small the field of vision felt in comparison to the Canopy. The wide open vision is so good I don't think I could wear anything else. Well, other than my Electric EG2's.
"Big, Heavy Pack" 6/16/2016
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Oakley Bathroom Sink Backpack Men's
  • Pros:  Large, lots o' space, Waterproof compartment,
  • Cons:  Heavy,

Experience:   I've had this bag for several years now. I bought it on a whim at the Oakley store and for the most part I've been happy with it. It's very high quality, as you would expect from Oakley, and has weathered several travel excursions. My one gripe is that I don't find all the metal parts on the outside to be very functional. They look cool, but generally they just weigh the bag down. I can fit a huge laptop in the bag and enough clothes/shoes to last several days. The top part is great for carrying items like a cell phone and sunglasses. The dry bag on the bottom is also nice for carrying wet clothes/shoes in. Overall I'm happy with the bag and I get a lot of compliments on it, but the metal straps and components on the outside have been more of a nuisance than functional.

  • Name: 2010 Sessions Ignition Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Pockets... and more pockets, Fairly light, Wrist gaiters
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Large and baggy

Experience:   I normally wear medium but this fits like a large and is a bit baggy. This jacket has everything! Plenty of pockets, place for an MP3 player, and an avalanche safety system (that I never plan on using). The removable vest gives versatility too. I have the Kiwi plaid and it looks awesome - very easy to spot on the mountain. The thumbholes are great to keep the sleeves tight and it has built-in mittens that easily fold out of the way. I really like this jacket and would definitely recommend it, though the style may not be for everyone.
