"Fantastic travel bag(not a carry on)"
- Name: 2010 Dakine Girls Split Roller Small
- Pros: excellent compartments, good construction, looks different from everyone else's
- Cons: not a carry on,
Ok, I got this a few months ago but me and the gf just went on a 5 day holiday carrying only this bag. This thing is BIG. This will not qualify as a carry on in 90% of cases. If it qualifies, good for you and consider yourself lucky but I would go to the airport expecting them to refuse it as carry on.
Now the goodies:
1) The bottom half is one big compartment. This is where you will put your usual stuff. Clothes, pants, etc. The mesh flap covering this half is closed with a zipper. And in the mesh is 2 pockets with zipper openings. This is perfect for amenities, documents, socks, boxers, etc. Small flat things.
2) The top half has 3 compartments(all zipper openings) One bigger one in the middle and 2 smaller ones to the sides. The big one was nice for putting our extra shoes in. We fit 2 pairs + a bunch of miscellaneous things including some sandals. The side pockets were useful as my gf used them to put her lady undergarments.
3)The outside has 2 pockets...not bad and you could lock them too with those airport approved locks if you wish.
Once again, I'll state that this bag is big. 2 people's worth of clothes for 5 days and it wasn't even full. Could've put a lot more in there... but might have been a little heavy if I had.
Oh and there handles on all sides so no worries there. I dragged it up and down tons of stairs and they held up fine. Nice bag! I can't imagine how big the regular size split roller would've been!
