"Best board owned to date" 3/19/2013
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Great flex, Light,
  • Cons:  Not good at high speeds,

Experience:   First board I've ever owned (rented my previous ones). Can't go wrong, it's awesome at everything except for bombing down groomed runs at very high speeds. Flex is great and not excessive so you can still catch a bit of speed compared to others. Weight is perfect, so light and able to give you that extra air when going over a jib/kicker
"Good stomp pad for price" 10/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Spike Snowboard Stomp
  • Pros:  Sharp spikes, Good grip, Good size
  • Cons:  Spikes wear after a while,

Experience:   Not much to say about this stomp pad but it's a good size, good grip and doesn't really attract too much snow around the spikes. The grip does wear a bit and after a season it didn't hold the same like first bought (which is understandable).
"Bang for buck" 10/11/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Freestyle
  • Pros:  Cheap, Decent flex,
  • Cons:  Not durable,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I picked some bindings up for my Burton Hero 2010 and these were a good price at the time. They are okay, the best selling point for them is the cheap cost but the thing letting it down was one session of hard snowboarding (7 days) in Japan it already showed signs of wear around the back/heel.
"Classic Wayfarer" 3/21/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 RayBan Original Wayfarer Sunglasses
  • Pros:  Stylish look, Good quality,
  • Cons:  Cost,

Experience:   I've owned so many pairs of Raybans but always come back to the original Wayfarer shape. There's not much to say about these sunglasses as everyone knows what they are. The difference between the real deal and imitation is that you can tell by looking through the lenses. Raybans actually provide UV protection through their lens which is very important when you're out on the mountain with snow everywhere and a sunny day. Only problem I have with these sunglasses is the price. Very expensive but you get what you pay for.
"Perfect for helmets" 3/21/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Red Redphones Headphones
  • Pros:  Good shape for helmets, Good cord length,
  • Cons:  Sound quality could be better,

Experience:   Bought these as I wanted circular open speaker-style headphones for my helmet rather than just putting in ear buds and turning up the volume really loud. It fits my Smith Maze helmet perfectly and the cord is a good length (although the button doesn't work with my Apple iPhone 4s). For it's price I expected a bit better sound quality.
"Good size, good fit" 3/21/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Goggle Case
  • Pros:  Fits googles well (snug), Has vents for breathing, Good material
  • Cons:  Is tight with extra lenses,

Experience:   Dakine makes good products and this is no exception. Fits my 2013 Smith googles perfectly and the extra lens as well, there is a soft sleeve compartment especially for this. The material they used is durable so you're not afraid to just throw it in your bag and let it bounce around when in transport. Price is okay, could be a bit cheaper for what it is
"Good little kit!" 3/20/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Quick Tune Kit
  • Pros:  Lots of tools, Instructions, Well packaged
  • Cons:  None for the price,

Experience:   Great kit. It has everything you need (besides an iron) to take care of your board. Comes with instructions which is not something you see every day. The Dakine ratchet with all the screw heads is a very good tool alone. Although mine broke, I ended up buying a replacement to fill the kit. Wax they provide is good, seems a bit thicker and more of a protective wax rather than a mountain/race/use wax.
"Good googles" 3/20/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Smith Prophecy Goggles
  • Pros:  Price, Fit, Aesthetic looks
  • Cons:  Hard to change lenses,

Experience:   These googles were on special at the local ski shop that I was in, I bought them as they also looked great. Changing lenses are a bit harder on these googles compared to regular googles though so keep that in mind. Once you get the hang of it it's not too bad. They provide good visibility in poor conditions as well, they give a nice coverage of your eyes too so there are no problems with it moving when having a stack or crash.
"Good beanie, fits well" 3/19/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2013 Burton Billboard Heritage Beanie
  • Pros:  Fits well, Breathes well,
  • Cons:  None,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Nice and tight around the ears

Experience:   Everything about this beanie is what you expect, price isn't too bad. If you have a lot of hair you might want to buy a size up though. I have the orange colour which stands out nicely especially when you're on the mountain riding
"LIke any other sock" 3/19/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2013 Burton Merino Phase Socks Men's
  • Pros:  Decent price, Fits well (width),
  • Cons:  Bought a M, fits like a L,
  • Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Good fit, bit long

Experience:   It's a good sock, breathes well and good fitting around my calf. The only problem is that I bought a medium but it seems to be a large for me. Width wise it fits my foot perfectly, it's only a bit long where the ankle section doesn't match up 100%.
"Lightweight bag" 3/17/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Space Sack Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Not bulky, Cheap
  • Cons:  Tight fit for other gear, Strap is clunky when carrying it,

Experience:   Bought this as I didn't want a full size bag with wheels, it fits my board, boots, jacket, pants, gloves. It doesn't fit my large helmet though which is a downside but it was expected. It's a tight fit but it's not bad. No straps and padding is minimal but it's what you pay for.
"Good ratchet" 3/17/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Torque Driver
  • Pros:  Good price, Lots of screw heads available, Small & strong
  • Cons:  Screw heads will rust, Ball-bearing can fall out making the tool useless ,

Experience:   It's a good tool but unfortunately I had to buy two of them. The first one that I bought worked flawlessly until the ball-bearing that holds the screw heads fell out and made the whole tool useless. I was happy with the use of the ratchet and how it can switch between tighten and loosen so I ended up buying another one. The only other complaint is that if you use it in the snow the screw heads can rust.
"Great helmet" 3/17/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Smith Maze Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  Light & strong, Good breathability , Cost
  • Cons:  Needs more padding around the ears,

Experience:   I bought this helmet at the start of my 2012/2013 season, used it every day for over two months and could not fault. Had a couple bad stacks on icy trails where I hit my head but this helmet has really saved me from some serious damage. I have also put my earphones into the zipper that is located at the back so I can listen to music, there is nothing bad about this helmet besides for the fact that it could provide a bit more ear protection/warmth. For it's price I don't think you could find a better helmet.
