"Quick and Easy" 7/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow M9
  • Pros:  Convenient, very quick and easy to get in and out, very comfortable, responsive
  • Cons:  Green model has a very ugly colour scheme, colour on padding stained my white boots,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Great bindings, the locking system these bindings have is really quick and easy to use. Although unless all your friends have flow bindings too you'll always be waiting for them. Great response and nice level of stiffness. Very forgiving for how stiff it is. Once you have flow bindings you won't want to use anything else.

Comments & Questions

sababa
how long did it take u to get fully comfortable with the tightness and feel of the bindings?

hockysa
Half a day, there abouts. approximately 3-4 hours. Might have taken me so long because I was initially overtightening them, the buckles are abit fiddly at first.

"too easy" 2/15/2012
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Team Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  firm, good contact points, takes a beating
  • Cons:  not great for park, side wall is weak,

Experience:   This was my first snowboard I ever bought and it was the best purchase ever, I've bought another board to satisfy my park needs but this board still gets taken out on the black runs when the run is too bumpy. The only fault in this board is the side wall. Does provide much protection to the inner layers of the board if you put a little ding in it. Other than that, riding it is everything you want out of an all mountain board.
"Wide boot" 1/11/2012
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Ride Deuce Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  comfortable, laced, light
  • Cons:  hard to get in/out of,
  • Fit:  stiff
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8.5, 4E width
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   This is so much more comfortable than any other boot I've worn. I have very wide feet with a low instep. So most boots will not fit me right and cause a lot of pain. This was the widest boot I could find in Australia. This isn't perfect but for what I usually have to go through with boots this boot is heaven. Also love the lacing system for the liner, gets really tight and really stops heel lift. Great boot would recommend to wide foot riders 4E and under. I would imagine 2-3E would be ideal

Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Rome Artifact Rocker Decade Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Rails
  • Pros:  super buttery, easy to manoeuvre ,
  • Cons:  bad in ice, can be unstable,

Experience:   The board I tested was the 2011 Artifact Rocker but I can no longer find it on Trusnow's site and doubt much has changed much beside the graphics. Anyway I am 175cm 80kg riding a 153cm, so I'm a little heavy for the board. Board felt like it was already broken in from the first ride. Very soft easy to flick around and press, decent pop with your nollies and ollies. This board is great for flatland tricks, very good for beginners to practice on and great for intermediate riders too. Previously riding a stiff cambered board jumping on this one made it a lot easier to do my presses and roll overs. In the park it was great on boxes, having zero camber in the centre of the board makes it easy to 180 and 360 over the boxes. Having reversed camber on the nose and tail makes it easy to press on the boxes too. Rails were fine as long as you didn't land on the rail straight into a frontside or backside grind as the bounce in the flex made it hard to keep balance, 50/50 was fine. The board doesn't do too well in icey conditions, I haven't played with many edge angles but being a reversed camber board with very soft flex I didn't expect it to do too well. Board also doesn't like steep black runs or bumpy runs with lots of moguls. The flex tends to bounce you off balance. Similar situation with big jumps, if you're off slightly and land a little on the tail it will tend to bounce you off balance. All in all it is a great board and I highly recommend it as a board to have as part of a collection. Its not good as an all rounder, but it does what it was designed to do very well. When I want to go charging down the mountain this board won't do, so you'll still need another board for the days you feel the need for speed, but if you're just playing around going slow then this is for you.

  • Name: 2009 Giro G10 MX Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Adjustable, Optional Visor,

Experience:   Wearing a helmet is a must for most riders. Not just for falls but little things like tree branches lolz Wouldn't have given it much thought initially but after collecting a branch to the head the helmet protects you more from just falls. Also these helmets are really comfortable, guess you need to try the helmet that suits you but I'm an asian kid with a fat round head these Giro helmets fit my head the best.

Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2006 Dakine Mountain Snowboard Stomp
  • Pros:  Nice size, Adheres well, Decent grip
  • Cons:  Could be a tiny bit smaller,

Experience:   Worked much better than the Dakine Cross Studs, these stuck on and lasted the whole day. I've yet to test it thoroughly but so far so good.
"These boots are genius" 7/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow One Boa Coiler
  • Pros:  Quick to lace up, Great support, Looks great
  • Cons:  would have preferred less red on the white boots, the lace clip on the liner is dodgey,
  • Shoe Size:  9-9.5
  • Boot Size:  8.5

Experience:   This boot is great, the windup lace is great for when you're still breaking in the boot. I was able to loosen the boot quickly without taking my mitts off before getting on the skii lift so my feet would have some relief and recover a little before hitting the slopes each time. Only problem is the lace clip on the liner, it would come off the part of the lace it was supposed to be on and get jammed.
"its ok" 2/10/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Afterburner Paste Wax (2 Oz)
  • Pros:  easier than hot wax,
  • Cons:  bit messy, doesn't last long,

Experience:   Don't really like that little applicator sponge thing that comes with it. It soaked up all the wax when the container must have warmed up a little and then got embedded in the wax. It's nice and easy to just rub on and does feel quite nice for a short while. Obviously like others have already said it's no replacement for a hot wax, but it comes in handy if you're up the mountain for awhile and your apartment doesn't have a room to wax your board
"Simple" 2/10/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Micro Lock
  • Pros:  Visual deterrent , Aesthetically pleasing, Nice size
  • Cons:  Can't be operated with gloves,

Experience:   I've been told countless times that yes someone could simply walk past and snip the cable and steal your board but like the club lock on a car it's more of a visual deterrent so prevent opportunistic thieves. Can't really go wrong with this it's a nice size and just gives you that little piece of mind when you go take a break your board won't be accidentally taken away or stolen. Compared to the price of your gear this is an absolute must
"Bang for Buck" 2/6/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 K2 Indy Snowboard Bindings - Men's
  • Pros:  good response, light weight, comfortable
  • Cons:  mediocre shock absorbtion,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Decent set of bindings for the price. Good old traditional binding feel, nothing crazy or overly fantastic about them but they were reliable and did the job. 2011 Indy is basically the K2 Formula from last year which is not a bad thing but the base plate has average/weak shock absorption. If you just want some simple affordable bindings you can't go wrong. I bought these knowing I'd upgrade later seeing as I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted in a binding till I've done more freestyle experimenting and exploration

  • Name: 2011 K2 Indy Snowboard Bindings - Men's
  • Pros:  good response, light weight, comfortable
  • Cons:  average shock absorption,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Decent set of bindings for the price. Provides a good traditional binding feel with familiar tech that doesn't blow minds when it comes to performance but is known and reliable. The 2011 Indy is basically the K2 Formula from last year. Not bad but the base plate has average/weak shock absorption. Turn initiation is predictable but not dynamic like some bindings are in it's class. The 2012 Indy is pretty much the same as the 2011 with a slight facelift. If you like the old school riding style they offer then these do well for the price.
"Remember the Titans" 1/3/2012

  • Name: 2011 Bonfire Titan Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  well vented, very durable,
  • Cons:  button boot gaitor broke, Sizing seems off,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Too big, get a size smaller than usual

Experience:   Great jacket, Even with me rolling around in the snow and some slushy areas I stayed completely dry. I own the Bonfire Titan Jacket so the the storm skirt connects to the pants. One thing to note is that on the sizing chart for both the pants and the jacket take the larger number of the range. The pants state 30-33 for a medium and the actual size was 34. Bought a medium in the jacket as that was the only size left and similar scenario, the jacket fits fine I don't mind a loose fit but the storm skirt doesn't line up at my waist. These pants took a beating. First time boarding I learnt in a pair of these pants and fell and slide through anything and everything and they stayed completely intact. Didn't even fray or pill, let alone tear. Well placed pockets and vents, make them great in most conditions.

One thing to note is that on the sizing chart for both the pants and the jacket take the larger number of the range. The pants state 30-33 for a medium and the actual size was 34. Bought a medium in the jacket and similar scenario, the jacket fits fine I don't mind a loose fit but the storm skirt doesn't line up at my waist. These pants are very very tough, I had a pair since my first time boarding and even with the amount of falling, sliding and going through trees with them they stayed intact. I've actually bought two pairs because the medium I first bought and used was too loose. But even being loose I still loved it. Tough Titans

Really wish it had wrist gaiters, it's the only thing missing to make this jacket my ideal shell.
"So Smooth" 9/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 GNU B-Street BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Halfpipe,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Smooth Sintered Base, Edgeless nose and tail,

Experience:   I borrowed this board off my friend and I must say it was very fun to ride. I'm a 75kg male and was riding a 141cm, was abit too small for me but was fine unless there was thick powder. Having no edge on the nose and the tail makes it great for freestyle riding as it won't be able to catch an edge. Although the downside is when you're lining up for the chairlift having no edge there means less protection from damage from knocking into other boards. What was amazing was how smooth the board was. My Sierra Team and this GNU had the same wax put on before our trip, but I was able to feel the difference in smoothness and speed on the slopes. Either it was the reverse camber or the sintered base, I didn't get to test that theory as I wasn't able to borrow my friend's Sierra Stunt but I'm lead to believe that the smoothness was due to the sintered base. Would highly recommend this board to anyone male or female.

  • Cons:  Not that warm,

Experience:   This beanie is awesome! Not the warmest beanie ever but by far one of the most comfortable and it looks awesome. Can't stop touching it. Feels so nice =]
"Quick and Easy" 8/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Quick Edge Tuner
  • Pros:  Easy to use, Conveniently sized,
  • Cons:  limited angles,

Experience:   I bought this before I bought my Dakine Deluxe kit which had everything in it. Honestly I can't tell the difference between using the two. They are both great quality and both get the job done. Doesn't beat my mates swix file guide but its waaaay better value
"Nearly all you need" 8/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Deluxe Tune Kit
  • Pros:  Convenient Pouch, Comes with all basic tools,
  • Cons:  Edge tool could accomodate for more angles,

Experience:   This is perfect to take with you up on the mountain to do your daily maintenance. Sure it doesn't beat a decked out tool set but who can be bothered bring everything up onto the mountain. This was also another item I had to pay twice as much for seeing as it's sold on Sierra. When this gets back in stock I'd recommend it to all snowboarders.
"Great Iron" 8/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Adjustable Tuning Iron
  • Pros:  Simple, Easy to clean, Easy to use
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   Can't go wrong buying this. I bought one for nearly twice as much elsewhere seeing as Sierra was sold out. This is ten times easier than using an old clothes iron and saves you heaps of money waxing your own board. Heats up quick and is very easy to use.
"Awesome Goggles" 7/31/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Oakley Crowbar
  • Pros:  Great Design, Fits well with helmet, Good visibility
  • Cons:  A bit loose without helmet,

Experience:   These goggles are great, I paid much more than what it's being sold for on Sierra, but I still think it was well worth the money. I would have preferred the alternative/asian fit, as the foam around the nose sometimes leaves a small gap. Also I found the head band a bit loose without a helmet on, but I'm assuming this was designed for a helmet seeing as it fits so well inside one. The lens didn't fog up thanks to the vents located on the front top of the lens as well as around the edges at the top and bottom. The goggles fit nicely all round and give great visibility, worth the money. =]

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Flow Delta Scraper
  • Pros:  Compact, Light, Convenient to carry
  • Cons:  Too Small, Hard to hold,

Experience:   I bought this thinking it'd be great to take with me, seeing as it small and easy to throw into any pocket. It's really annoying holding onto a triangle. Better off with one of those long ruler like ones. Doesn't really make or break the way you pack your gear.
"Comfortable and Durable" 7/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Bonfire Titan
  • Pros:  Durable, Very Comfortable, Stylish
  • Cons:  No Zipper to connect to powder skirt, Buttons didn't match my Oakley Jacket,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Too loose

Experience:   Very waterproof and durable pants. I must have slid on ice and bare patches so many times and these things didn't even fray. The pants are on the larger side of the size chart. My waist is usually a 30-32. I measured up 32 before buying so size M seems right. the Size M ended up being like a 33-34 I can wear it with a belt but would have been nice to have a size smaller.

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Cross Studs
  • Pros:  Good grip, Nice design,
  • Cons:  Poor adhesive,

Experience:   Worked well while they were on the board. Decent amount of grip, but after a few runs fair few of mine went missing. I bought two packs and stuck eight of them on the board, after one day trip I was left with three. Maybe I could have stuck it on better, but unless someone says otherwise I wouldn't buy these again.

Experience:   Good pair of long socks. Its got padding in all the right places, but doesn't make the socks too thick.

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Micro Lock
  • Pros:  Small, Compact, Light

Experience:   The Dakine micro lock has a must better retraction mechanism than the Burton cable lock. I feel that more than anything this is just a visual deterrent, although I haven't tested it out that thoroughly if someone really wanted your board they'd be able to take it. But that being said it would be more likely that they wouldn't bother or they'd be caught trying to break the lock. I feel its good protection against opportunistic thieves.

  • Pant Fit:  Just right

Experience:   These pants are awesome, plenty of pockets. They sit very nicely and aren't too fitting. Vents work well for when you start building up a sweat.

  • Name: 2010 Dragon DX Goggles
  • Pros:  Cheap,

Experience:   These are good to get if you're a bit low on money, they work great. Bought these for my brother and he's not complaining. Sure it doesn't compare to my polarised Oakley Crowbars but hey these still do the job fine unless you're wearing a helmet. These don't fit as nicely with the helmets.
"Great Looking Jacket" 8/27/2010

  • Name: 2007 Burton Audex Ak Pitt Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Looks Good, Light,
  • Cons:  Audex Piece isn't that loud,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Slightly Loose

Experience:   Bought this jacket for my brother and it does look very very good. The powder skirt isn't removable but no big deal, doesn't have the zip system on the skirt either but there are three loops at the bottom of the skirt that allow you to attach them to certain pants. My brother has the M5 Pants which work perfectly with it.

  • Pros:  Durable, Comfortable,
  • Cons:  Too Loose,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Very Loose

Experience:   These pants I bought for a friend of mine and they're a bit loose on her. I find with Bonfire gear their sizing is retarded. I myself own the Bonfire Titan Pants and it's the same deal. Sizing says M 31-33 actual size is 34.. Go Figure The pants are great though. Nice design very comfortable, convenient pockets/zips and vents. I've taken many falls in them and they are still perfect. Would recommend it to friends but would advise that if you're on the smaller end of the size chart I'd go a size down.

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Stunt Wide Snowboard 153
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Soft Flex, Great Price, Buttery
  • Cons:  Ugly Graphics,

Experience:   Friend let me try out his Sierra Stunt for half a day. Loved it =] Didn't really want to give it back lolz The board is a copy of the Burton Blunt. It's a great board and I highly recommend it to riders looking to take a step up in their freestyle and get a feel for some new tricks. The reverse camber makes buttering easy and gives you a slight edge to pull off other tricks.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Retro Disc
  • Pros:  Cheap, Genuine,
  • Cons:  Black only,

Experience:   Seeing as these aren't free overseas I had to initially fork out $30 to buy these here in Australia. So now that these are available on Sierra for such a good price you'd be crazy not to buy it. So unless you want to buy a new set of bindings this is the cheapest I've seen the discs that'll let you use your old bindings on the new Burton boards.
