"Worth every cent!" 10/28/2010

  • Name: 2010 Anon Figment Snowboard Goggles
  • Pros:  unbelieveably comfortable, clear unobscured vision, never fogged up,
  • Cons:  may not be stylish enuff for some!,

Experience:   I tried on some Dragons, Smith's, Electrics in the shop and used to wear Oakley A's... but NONE were this comfortable. I'm pretty picky when it comes to sunnies and goggles, I hate being able to see the frames in my peripheral vision. These ANON's easily felt the best when I put them on in the shop, and worked like a dream on the mountain. The first 2 days were perfect blue bird skies and the 3rd day windy and overcast, I used the same lens on all 3 days and they did the job perfectly. But would definitely go for a lighter lens in heavy weather. They are pretty basic looking goggles but geez people it aint a fashion parade. I'd go for comfort and quality any day! Love'em.. best thing i've bought in ages.
"So Easy........" 4/11/2012

  • Name: 2011 Burton Ruler Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  super light, extremely QUICK & EASY to put on, comfortable
  • Cons:  slight heel lift,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   When you pull into the car park and gear up before you hit the mountain the last thing you want to do is stuff around with putting on boots and lacing up with near frost bitten fingers... I was a bit sceptical of the Ruler lacing system but thought what the hell and got a pair... BEST decision I've ever made. I've got my boots on and board under my arm ready to go before my mates have even got their left foot in their first boot.. The other thing I love is how comfortable they are, the inner is simple to lace and easy to get nice and snug and has brilliant cushioning. I have fairly narrow feet skinny ankles so I do experience a bit of heel lift but I get that with every boot but the best thing is with the Rulers I don't get ANY pressure points. A massive plus is the weight of this boot.. like a feather! At first I thought beacuse they are a pretty simple construction and the fact the materials used are very light that I might be sacrificing some warmth.. NOPE! they were fine even at -15 celcius. I took a big risk coz I bought these before I even tried them on, I read the other reviews and their is a reason why the Rulers are the Trusnow TOP rated boot... It really is that GOOD! My size is a US12 and the Burton Ruler 12 is pretty much spot on. The only thing I can't comment on is the h2O proofability, I haven't had them in any wet and slushie conditions.. but not too concerned coz I bet they will be fine. Enough flex without being loose, heel spine does make it firm but like any shoe or boot just need to be broken in. Awesome boot!

  • Name: 2012 Burton GoreTex Mittens
  • Pros:  warm, dry, feel & fit
  • Cons:  short gauntlet,

Experience:   Worth every cent. Easily best glove I've ever owned. Good construction and materials. Only wish they were slightly firmer and longer around the forearm. I've never even used the inners as they were warm enough

  • Name: 2011 Burton RPM Leather Snowboard Gloves - Men's
  • Pros:  comfortable, soft,
  • Cons:  zipper, no good in wet,

Experience:   as far as comfort goes they are great. Good quality leather, nice and soft inner, quite warm too. Conditions in Australia can go from one extreme to the other and when it heats up and snow becomes rain or its a white out situation then this glove didn't cut it. It's a perfect glove for dry conditions. I found the zip to never stay up... although it's only small but when the wind is blowing you want every little crack covered. You will definitely need a back up pair in the bag! But they are still a very good glove

  • Name: 2011 Giro G10MX Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  adjustable for all head shapes, very light, great ventilation
  • Cons:  visor, vent slide stiff,

Experience:   Bought this helmet in Japan after the first day of wearing a beanie... Best thing I ever did, I was on my way back from a night at the bars so I wasn't mucking around with looks, price, brands I just tried nearly every helmet in the shop on and took the most comfortable and one that was super light. Didn't like the visor so that came straight off when I got back to the unit. Comfy chin strap, great ear covers, super warm but well ventilated when needed. Took a acouple of small branches to the head when darting through the trees, didn't feel a thing and next to no marking or damage. (got the matte black) Not the best looking on my head but not much was... Great helmet, get it u won't be dissappointed!

  • Name: 2011 K2 Parkstar Wide Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Solid, stable, does everything, lightweight, fast,
  • Cons:  graphics,

Experience:   So I own a Rome MOD161W and wanted something more playful. I researched and the K2 Parkstar kept ticking the boxes. Listening to another reviewer I opted for the shorter 157W, Im 6'3 and 100kg (220lb) and was sceptical that this board would do the job... WRONG!!! this board is FREAKISH! it's called the Parkstar but don't let that fool you. I spent 2 weeks in knee deep POW in Niseko, mostly off piste in the trees and this thing was outstanding. Wether it was on the groomed flat out or popping off natural terrain the ParkStar did more than it was asked. It's got great flex, not buttery but enough to do it all. Late in the day when the groomed was all hacked up this board just cut through it like a hot knife through butter.. so smooth and easy on the knees. Im no where near the level of launching off the terrain park jumps or the pipe but apparently this is what this board was made for. Regardless of what your into I have no hesitation in saying GET THIS BOARD! Would love to see if the 2012 is the same... although I won't be needing a new board for a while now I have this thing!

  • Name: 2011 Rome Mod Wide Snowboard 161 Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,Jumps,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  takes big hits, stable, catch free edge
  • Cons:  touch too stiff, a bit slow,

Experience:   this board has been made with purpose. It will handle anything on the mountain but you just have to be able to keep up with it. I'm not a small guy and this board felt rock solid under my feet. It's not a playful board and needs to be unleashed, needs to go big to perform at it's peak and do what it was made for. To be honest I think this board is too good for my skill level... something I think I will need to grow and improve into. It's positive camber is stable at speed yet ready to get loose when u want. Great for switch and smooth as a babies bottom. Am yet to get it in the pow with it but will know in Feb after Japan! Stay tuned... Sick board for the right rider, so if u want a board to bomb big stuff then this is it. Beginners need not apply! It is probably ROME's stiffest deck. Get ready for sumo stance. Definitely a big gun for your arsenal!

  • Name: 2010 Anon Realm Snowboard Goggles
  • Pros:  even better than figments, unreal clarity, unobscured view, fit like a glove

Experience:   I purchased the figments after trying on lods of others. My bro-inlaw bought the realms after trying on mi figments. These are the next step up! I used them for half a day and they were unbelieveable. At this price you would have to be nuts to pass them up! Even at full price you would be nuts not to get them... I've learnt in the past it's good to have a spare pair in the kit. I will be getting these for sure and my Figments can be my back up! Extremely comfortable and NEVER Fog up. Anon scores again!

  • Name: 2010 686 Smarty Index
  • Pros:  removable liner, velcro waist tabs, loads of extras, the bloody price! CHEAP!, attention to detail, versatile
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XXL
  • Description:  a little baggy, but that's the way I like em.

Experience:   U.S sizing is bigger than OZ sizing so be careful. I like my pants baggy plus im 6'3 and 96kg. Have long legs so was happy with the length. My usual OZ sizing is XL but can sometimes get away with U.S Lge. Probably could have in this case but not sure if the Lge length would have done the job. Only XL availble anyways ha ha.. Seiously awesome duds, stoked with quality and price. Insanely CHEAP!

  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XXL
  • Description:  Australian XL sizing a little smaller than US XL, but I like the lose fit.

Experience:   the hood is fixed, it's only a shell so don't expect to stay warm in the minus's. The satin lining is killer! Awesome quality for $125
