"Burton Ruler - Favorite Boot Ever" 3/22/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Ruler Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  Light, but supportive, comfy, speedzone lacing kills it
  • Cons:  havent really found one yet,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I have been riding Burtons Ruler boot for about four years now, the 2011 model is the second pair i've owned and I have yet to try on a boot that feels better right out of the box. I switched to the Ruler initially for the SpeedZone lacing system and I dont intend on switching back to classic laces. I can be in and out of my boot in half the time it would take to lace up traditional laces and the ripcord that Burton uses is super tough. My last pair of Rulers got tossed due to stink and not performance, trust me I tried everything I could like of or look up to save those boots. Once I looked into the new model I was stocked to see the 270 air cushioned heel bed as well as the smaller footprint. It's not named Ruler for sh*ts n giggles boys and girls, this boot is here to stay!
"Dakine Mission Bag - All Purpose Sack" 3/22/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Mission Pack
  • Pros:  Lightweight, tons of pockets, comfy straps
  • Cons:  rubs the back of tshirts/hoodies raw, board holder doesnt always support my skate,

Experience:   I bought a Mission bag a few years ago and I have used the heck out of, from days out skating, biking, hiking, traveling and even hunting! I think it is super versatile and doesnt cost a fortune to get one. I love that it has so many pockets, including the drink pocket on the side with the mesh cinch strap and the back side pocket for valuables when traveling through crowed areas like airports and major cities. I was pretty bummed that my hoodies and tshirts get something similar to sock-monkeys from the mesh backing rubbing back and forth against the cotton, but that's mainy if I'm wearing the bag for really prolonged periods of time like hiking or traveling. My other beef with this bag is that the board holder doesnt always support my skate, even when I yank on the tightening straps all the way. Unless my bag is mainly full of other things my skate will just slide down and it tends to wobble when I walk or bike, which causes extra strain on my shoulders over time. Best bet, just skate instead of carrying your board unless your bag is well over half full. I havent tried using this bag for my snowboard and I dont intend to.

  • Name: 2011 Burton Mission Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Adjustable, Stylish
  • Cons:  A bit too loose for all mountain,

Experience:   I think these are good bindings for the most part, but just not for me. I tend to ride more on the steeps and tree runs and what not where response is key!! I wasnt really impressed with base plate either, I blew mine to pieces on a 25ft table and I'm pretty sure I wouldnt have had that problem if they were made out of a more durable material (i.e. metal). However I can see how this would be a great binding for a more freestyle/park rider. They are really adjustable and are reasonably lightweight. The best feature on these bindings for me was the toe cap, I was skeptical at first, but they have me convinced that it's good technology.
"Super Comfy" 11/9/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Reef Awol Sandals Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Durable, Stylish
  • Cons:  a bit on the heavy side,

Experience:   I am on my second pair of reefs and I love them! From the beach to the city, I can walk around all day and they feel great! I really like how they have the air cushions, they help a lot! Oh and the bottle opener, nice move reef, super handy! Also I really like how durable these sandals are, with the sole being more like a shoe they really hold up well!!! If I had to choose again between a pair of Reefs or another brand, I'd go with these!!
"Best Shades Ever" 11/8/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Electric EC/DC Xl Sunglasses Men's
  • Pros:  Light, Great fit, Classic style

Experience:   I absolutely love these sunglasses!! I had mine in the polarized option and what a difference that made for all sort of things; driving, at the beach, fishing, skating, hiking, mowing the lawn and so on. They had a good fit to them that wasn't head crunching, but stayed in place! The lenses are really durable and scratch resistant. The case that comes with them was great and didnt trap dirt in it! If you have tried these on yet then you're missing out!!
"Great shoe, just not for skating" 11/8/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Circa 99 Vulc Skate Shoes Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Stylish, Versatile
  • Cons:  Not very durable, Floppy Fit for skating,

Experience:   I really like how these shoes feel on my feet in general, but when I went to skate them they felt way too floppy even after tightening them. So instead of skating them I just had a nice pair of kicks for hitting up the slopes for snowskating and walking around. I love all the different colorways that are available for them and the style alone is really original. The vulcanized sole did give a really nice feel to them too, unlike older style shoes that have a super thick sole. I had these in canvas and full grain leather and I liked the feel of the canvas most, but the look of the leather more. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone!!
"Just keeps working!!" 11/8/2011

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Torque Driver Snowboard Tool
  • Pros:  Lghtweight, holds lots of attachments, versatile

Experience:   I have had mine for years now and it just keeps working!! I really like that it has more than just a phillips driver! The ratcheting system works flawlessly and it's pretty sweet that it has a lock option just in case. I haven't had a single bit break and it fits in just about any pocket in pants/coat/backpack. Thanks to dakine and whoever puts them together for making such a sweet and simple tool!!
"not bad nike, not bad" 11/7/2011

  • Name: 2010 Nike 6.0 Melee Shoes Men's
  • Pros:  comfortable, lightweight,
  • Cons:  not as durable as I hoped for, doesnt breathe very well,

Experience:   I liked these shoes quite a bit, its the first pair of nikes that actually felt good enough to skate it. the side panels held up pretty well, but the foam sole gave out pretty quick. they could have been more breathable though, even with the materials used they seemed a bit stuffy for my feet.
"Nice pants, wanna....you know" 11/7/2011

  • Name: 2011 Foursquare Boswell Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  Lightly insulated, comfortable, adjustable
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  loose, but not floppin in the wind status

Experience:   They seemed like a great all around pant, but might be a bit too warm for the spring time, but I'm sure the vents would help with that. Lots of pockets and they are zippered instead on just velcro or buttons!! Get these and have a great pair of pants and safe some bucks compared to buying new!!
"Spring Jacket indeed" 11/7/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Foursquare PJ Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Lightweight, comfortable, adjustable
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  Loose, but not a trash bag fit

Experience:   I used to work for Zumiez and got to try on a lot of gear, this jacket seemed really nice, good fit and adjustable, but definitely needs a layer or two on those cold days.

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Legacy Mittens
  • Pros:  Warm, Dry, Strong
  • Cons:  Warm,

Experience:   Great mittens, they work great for me, but towards the spring they are way too hot, even without the liners. Love them on those frigid days though!!
"Curious if they ride as good as they feel" 11/6/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Vans Encore Boa Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable right out of the box, BOA lacing is quick, Simple style
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I have only been able to try these on in the store, but they felt great there and I would like to see how they do on the mountain. I hve been riding Burton Rulers for years now and love the speed zone lacing system, but the last pair I bought keeps bothering me with a pressure point from the top of the tongue into my shin.

Comments & Questions

BabyG
I find the top of these boots is actually where they are loosest (but still offer support), although I do turn the tounge out a bit when I lace up cause I ride pretty duck and I like to make sure the padding is still on my shin. They are as comfortable to ride in as they are to walk in in the shop.

"Awesome shoes!!!" 11/6/2011

  • Name: 2011 ES Slant Skate Shoes Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Durable, Classic style
  • Cons:  laces shred some what easy,

Experience:   I have had these shoes for a few months now and they are still holding up. I dont skate every day, but I've put them to the test and they are great. They didnt have a big break-in period where it was awkward to skate in them and they still are really comfortable to walk around or skate in. Plus I really like the classic design.
"Oakley Crowbar's are my jam!" 3/22/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Oakley Crowbar Goggles
  • Pros:  Great Fit, Multiple Lens Choices, Easily Adjustable and stay put on my head
  • Cons:  Havent found any yet,

Experience:   I have been using the Crowbar goggle for four years now and I love them! I have been using the same yellow lens the whole time and they barely have any scratches or dings and still dont fog up all nasty like, thanks to the well designed venting system. The strap is really nice to with the rubberized inner strap so they stay put too. I think the next step for these goggles for me is a couple more lenses for those brighter days.
