"I'm lovin the AK Tech" 3/15/2012

  • Name: 2012 Burton AK Tech Gloves Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Simple, Not Bulky and excellent mobility
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   I was looking for a glove that wasn't bulky and would still keep my hands toasty. I asked a couple different staff members at TruSnow for any recommendations and both said the Burton AK Tech. I was a little nervous because the glove looked good but for some reason I had it in my head that the glove would have to be a little bulkier to keep my hands warm. Boy was I wrong!! Now that I've been able to use these gloves multiple times I can say that the fit of the glove is outstanding and it has all the features that I was looking for. Its not a bulky glove at all, I have excellent mobility of my hands and have no problems doing simple tasks that in the past would require me to remove a glove or in some cases both gloves. The design is nice and simple, the leather palms are awesome (even comes with the leather conditioner), and I've had zero problems with the side zippers. The best part is that they keep my hands really warm and even on the coldest day that Tahoe might see I can tell you that there's not going to be any need for inserts, but since the snow gods are crazy I always keep inserts in my pocket, but so far they're just taking up space and haven't been needed. Overall I'm extremely happy with this glove, excellent product and I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a solid low profile glove that's going to keep your hands warm and dry.

  • Name: 2006 Sessions Infantry Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  Price, Fit,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  On the baggy side

Experience:   These pants are great, very comfortable and they look great. I board in the Tahoe area and these pants are plenty warm. The fit is a little on the baggy side which is ok for me. The elastic waist adjustments are ok, I'd prefer just belt loops. This is a smokin deal so I would recommend picking up a pair if your size is still available

  • Name: 2012 Smith Maze Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  Lightest helmet on the market, Low profile , In-mold construction

Experience:   I decided that I should get a helmet this season and protect my noggin. I've always been on the fence about helmets because too me I've seen a lot of helmets that look really big like bobble head big and its given me the impression that they must be uncomfortable and heavy. After some serious research and a lot of trying on helmets I came across the Maze and let me tell you not only is it light its comfortable and has a nice low profile on your head. After a little adjusting this helmet fits like a glove and its so light I can barely feel it on my head. I'm not sure how I feel about the venting. You basically have to fold the helmet liner flaps that cover the vents in half and tuck it under the liner. It just seems a little weird but its really not a big deal. The other thing was when I put my Skullcandy audio speakers in the ear pads the little grommet where the cord plugs into just popped off like nothing. Ultimately I'm pretty crafty and I'll fix it but it did piss me off that it came off so easily. Especially sine I had the helmet for like 2 days. Overall I love this helmet and I think its a great value, I would definitely recommend this helmet.

  • Name: 2010 Gravis Chuck Lx Skate Shoes Men's
  • Pros:  Real Leather, Stylish, Comfortable
  • Cons:  None that I know of,

Experience:   Ok so I bought these shoes on a whim because I wanted the free shipping. It pretty much only cost me like $7.00 for these shoes after the free shipping. I just got these shoes and right when I opened the box I was like WOW!!! The smell of new leather filled my room and these shoes look great. My shoe size is right in between 11.5 and 12 and a lot of times its just hit or miss for me. I usually get a 12 when I order online because if the shoe ends up a touch to big I'm ok with it. These weren't available in a 12 so I went with the 11.5 which made me a little nervous. The 11.5 fits perfect, I'm thinking that these shoes run a touch on the larger size based on how well they fit my feet. Bottom line is that these shoes are comfortable, stylish, and you can't beat the price. I would recommend snatching a pair of these up before they're gone!!!

  • Name: 2009 Sessions Stripe Softshell Hoodie
  • Pros:  Price, Style, Comfort
  • Cons:  None ,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  Runs a bit on the larger size

Experience:   I was a little concerned when I made this purchase because I usually wear an XL (because I have long arms and a long torso) and the largest size left was a Large. After looking at other reviews that stated that this shell runs large I decided to make my purchase. I'm pleased to report that the large fits really well. I'm 6'2 and 174 and the sleeves are plenty long enough for riding on the mountain or just putzing around town but for me the sleeves really aren't long enough for the built in mittens to be functional which is ok because I didn't buy this shell for the mittens. I really bought this shell because of the price, style, and the fact that I needed something new for the not so cold days in Tahoe. The overall length of this shell is also great, it hits me just below my waist on my hips. Overall I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. My three main concerns were that the sleeves wouldn't be long enough, the overall length wouldn't be long enough, and that I wouldn't be able to play it off and the jacket would just look like it was too small for me. All of those concerns are now gone and I'm stoked on the fit. If you're the person that likes it baggy I would say stick with you normal size, no need to size up. If you want it more fitted take a hard look at the measurements vs the measurements of the jackets that you already own because most likely you can size down like I did and achieve the fit that you're looking for. Bottom line..... BUY IT
