"Awesome Jacket" 12/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton AK 2L Turbine Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Waterproof/Breathable, Stylish
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  One size too large

Experience:   I live in Tahoe and love this jacket for around town and on the slopes on cold days. The primaloft is warm though, so I don't use this jacket every time I board or I can end up overheating. It is awesome with Burton ak pants due to the zip in compatability, it's just sweet!
"Top of the line boot" 12/30/2010

  • Name: 2011 Burton Ion Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Comfortable,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10.5US
  • Boot Size:  10.5US

Experience:   I demo'd this boot and it's the reason I ended up buying last years model. It was extremely comfortable and was stiff enough for a lot of control on turns but weren't nearly as stiff as the Driver X boots, which seemed more like a ski boot than a snowboard boot.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Ion
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Good heel hold, High quality
  • Cons:  Price,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  11

Experience:   It's been a great boot for this season. I waited for this model (last years) to go on sale though because of the price. It's very comfortable and perfectly compliments my Burton c60s for very precise turns and a lot of control
"Warm glove" 12/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Baker Under
  • Pros:  Warm, Comfortable ,
  • Cons:  Not breathable,

Experience:   Great gloves, however, my hands are always wet at the end of the day and I believe it's a breathability issue as opposed to waterproofness. I opened the vent/hand-warmer pocket and it helped the breathability a bit. Perhaps they are just too warm for Tahoe weather which is NOT sub zero as this glove is rayed for
"Great gloves" 12/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton RPM Gloves
  • Pros:  Warm, High quality leather, Stylish
  • Cons:  Zipper,

Experience:   These are great gloves. I actually got the extra smalls though I normally wear a medium in other brands. The leather is high quality and they look slick. The only downside is the zipper on the wrist never stays zipped! Otherwise a great purchase!
"Great first layer" 12/29/2010

  • Name: 2010 Burton Expedition First Layer Pant Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Moisture wicking,
  • Cons:  Baggy,
  • Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  A bit baggy

Experience:   Great first layer. They are warm and keep my legs cozy all day! I have worn them in moderately cold and very cold conditions and they perform equally in either temp.
"Awesome socks" 12/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Emblem
  • Pros:  Great fit, Moisture wicking, Comfortable
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Very comfortable

Experience:   I love these socks!! Seriously one of the most important, and overlooked, pieces of equipment in my eyes. If your feet are wet and cold, you're not a happy rider! These socks are great, and keep my feet dry and toasty all day long! I looked at about a dozen other socks and the emblem felt the softest and most comfortable. Great purchase.
"Great goggle" 12/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Oakley A-Frame
  • Pros:  Great lens, High quality, Anti-fog

Experience:   These are amazing goggles! I've used them for almost a decade and they haven't given me any problems. Great lens, doesn't fog up easily, and look cool as a bonus. Definitely a good buy!
"Good goggle" 12/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Giro Roots Goggles
  • Pros:  Clear view, Stylish,
  • Cons:  Large,

Experience:   I have only used these goggles once on the mountain, but they performed very well! I am used to a smaller goggle (Oakley a-frame) so it was different but not bad. This goggle had a nice, clear view.
"Sweet jacket" 12/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Softshell Hoodie Men's
  • Pros:  Stylish, Comfortable,
  • Cons:  No bells/whistles, No waist gaitor,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Just right

Experience:   Great jacket, definitely very stylish and great fit and quality. However, it is a very basic jacket with no powder skirt, the jacket-to-pant interface is NOT the zipper interface. I have Ak pants and just misread/misunderstood and it doesn't link up by zipper. No biggie, just don't see myself using this jacket other than around town or for spring boarding. I think it would be WAY too warm to use it as a mid-layer. I can't say enough for how stylish it is and comfy, I got the mascot stripe colorway, and love it!
"Great Hoodie!" 12/22/2010

  • Name: 2010 Burton Blitzer Windstopper Hoodie Hthrd Resin
  • Pros:  Warm, Windproof, Stylish
  • Fit:  Too small
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  It is a true size medium, which isnt true for other Burton Jackets I have purchased

Experience:   I got this jacket as something to wear out on normal (cold) days in Tahoe. It has fit the bill, and been a great jacket for when I dont want to wear a shell
"Great Jacket" 12/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton AK 2L Cyclic Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Waterproof, High Quality, Zip-to-pants Interface
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  I got a size Medium, which fits like a large

Experience:   I knew from my last Burton jacket purchase to get a size smaller than I usually wear. I'm 5'11, 180lbs and normally wear a large, but got a Large Burton Ak 2L Turbine Jacket and was swimming in it, so the Medium was perfect for this jacket. It is a great shell, and works well with layering, even with the medium. It is stylish, and very breathable so I have hours of comfort on the mountain and dont have to worry about being cold and wet. Definitely recommend getting a size smaller than you are perhaps used to.
"great pants" 12/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton AK 2L Cyclic
  • Pros:  zip to jacket interface, waterproof, high quality
  • Cons:  too large,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  The signature fit is a whole size larger than I expected

Experience:   This pant is great, and I especially enjoy the zip interface with my cyclic jacket! No more snow down my pants!! It is like having a one piece without looking like a one-piece. The pant is definitely waterproof, and since it is just a shell, I accompanied it with some ak expedition weight base layer pants and I am warm and dry/comfortable all day on the mountain!
"Wild Ride!" 12/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Vapor Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,High Speeds
  • Pros:  lightweight, responsive, fast!!
  • Cons:  expensive,

Experience:   If you have the money to buy one of these boards, do yourself the favor. I love to carve at high-speeds and was looking for a lighter board, and the vapor fit the bill. I couldnt be more happy with my purchase. It has really increased my abilities, and as an intermediate rider I was worried that I wouldnt be able to fully appreciate this high-end of a board, but it has made it easier to step up my riding. This board holds an edge like no other I have ever ridden!! There have been many times where I felt like I was going to eat &*it and this board held its edge and saved my butt. It is also extremely fast, and I have raced buddies down the mountain only to see them crouched down in the distance behind me as I fly by with ease. I really notice the lightness of the board when I am transitioning my turns and going from edge to edge is effortless. Great board, do what you can to make the investment
"Top of the line!" 12/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton C60
  • Pros:  high quality, attractive design, extremely responsive
  • Flex:  stiff

Experience:   I have ridden these bindings for about 10 days on the snow, and all I can say is... wow! They are extremely responsive which is awesome, but not too stiff. They are very comfortable, and with the fully padded base and b3 gel in the heel, it was a huge step-up from my last set of bindings (flows) in the comfort respect. I think the responsiveness of the binding is what has made the purchase worth the money, as I feel like I have way more control at speed and it gives me more confidence to bomb down the mountain and get that adrenaline rush that I ride for.
