"Free from TruSnow - doing the job quite well" 6/18/2012
Name: 2011 Skullcandy Icon Headphones
Pros: Light, fit under helmet, comfortable, sound quality is good,
Cons: feel a bit cheap,,
So this is the second time I have got a set of headphones with an order from TruSnow. If you compared these to the ones I got last time, these would be off the chart, real happy with the upgrade :-D
I wear these headphones under my helmet and don't have any worry that they are going to break etc, but I can understand what everyone is saying below about how they feel a bit cheap. The sound quality is great when they are under my helmet and if I pause the music I can hear what is going on around me alot better than with the ones that go into your ears.
Over all they are good headphones, don't know if I'd buy them, but when you get them for free you've gotta be stoked with them considering you used to get ones that were alot worse!!!
Pros: The choice of toe straps means they are comfortabl, Responsive,
Cons: Screws in bindings are hard to undo,
Just bought these bindings for my girlfriend and took it riding on the weekend (it arrived on Tuesday, set it up on Thursday and riding Saturday) the Baltimore style bindings are great. My gf loves the style (and she has had trouble with bindings in the past so this is really really positive review for the board). And as they come with alternative toe straps, for those who don't like the Baltimore style its easy to change.
The bindings come pre-set and some of the screws were hard to undo which was annoying but thankfully my dad is a mechanic so this wasn't too bad for us.
And I agree with the person below, the binding's are more of an off-white than they look in the picture above. I still like the style with my gf's set up as she has an off white jacket but its something for people to consider.
Pros: Soundtrack, fast paced, good quality snowboard dvd,
Its seriously as if they grabbed all the best parts of snowboarding dvd's and removed all the shit were you feel you have time to quickly grab a beer. There is no part where you watch the helicopter for 2 minutes with a voice over telling you how good this is going to be.. it just shows you how good it is! One of the better snowboarding dvd's out
"Great - if you can afford it you'll love it!" 6/12/2011
Name: 2010 Superfeet Kork Footbeds B
Pros: make ride more comfy, feet less sore at the end of a days hard session, great for flat footed people
I was always complaining about my feet so my brother bought these for xmas last year and I've used them for a season (about 20 days) and they were great
Likes: they do the job, definitely make your ride a bit more comfortable, I've been having problems with my feet for ages and the footbeds stopped them from being so sore at the end of the day. Don't seem to be wearing out..
Dislikes: for the price though I'll just go back to getting a 30 minute leg and foot massage every now and then rather than buy myself another pair, it works just as good and makes my legs feel better as well as my feet. That is unless I can con my bro into buying me another pair in another yr or 2..
Pros: Gr8 creativity, MFM in the bmx park is wicked,
Cons: bit old but its still great,
This is the best video I've seen in a few years! There are so many make shift snowboard filming crews now, that there are a lot of sub par movies on the market, but Optimistic is a def. buy. The filming is amazing, there is a great mix of rails/park, backcountry/Free riding, creativity with different terrain (Gigi Ruff in Canada at a BMX course).
MFM has one of the best parts he has ever put together. His part has some great tricks and I've never laughed so hard during a snowboard video with his Spray Section. Gigi & Mueller put together great parts again, Mikey Leblanc shows he jibs better than you on a 6 foot toboggan.
Plain and Simple, if you are a fan of good, progressive riding you are going to love this movie!!!
These are a great starter for snowshoe-ing. I trekked around the Snowy Mountains in Australia with them and had a blast. We trekked up to the top of Mount Kosciuszko and out to blue lake and I was always a step ahead of everyone in rental gear (pun intended).
Definitely worth it if your thinking about getting out and hitting the trails, and at this price you can save money for the more important things, like snacks on the trip :-p
Pros: Fits helmet and stays secure, Low light lens is easy to change,
Out of all the goggles I've owned, Spy is so far my favorite goggle brand for snowboarding. These fit perfectly with a helmet and do not fog up at all. They have a very nice field of view and stay in place. For anyone with a helmet, I have a Smith Holt helmet and they fit wonderfully with it. I have owned Oakleys as well but I prefer Spy because of the way they fit me personally. It isn't listed on the site but when I bought them in OZ they came with an extra low light lens also which is awesome (although you should check if TruSnow do the same).
"Lightweight, great design - great beginner board!" 6/18/2012
Name: 2011 Technine T9 Paint Snowboard Women's
Pros: Light weight, great for beginners,, easy to turn, strong edges, really great graphics
Cons: the base of the board looks a bit average,
The board is great for beginners hitting up the groomers, its light weight, easy to turn and really holds the edges. The design on top is wicked (especially with Burton Bootique boots - just looks unreal!). The graphics between your bindings is raised which gives it something else other than the glossy finish all the rest have. The base looks a bit average but you can live with that.
When I bought it from TruSnow (and you'd probably have to confirm if everyone gets this or not) I got a stomp pad which was a T cut in half. Pretty cool and it does the job even if its not the best (I've added a few spikes down the middle for extra grab which still looks cool).
If your looking for your first board you can't walk past this for price in my opinion.
Pros: Warm, keep you warm (wind free) on the chairlift, so much better than a bandana or neck warmer
Cons: gets wet after big stack ,
Just bought this recently, took it down to Perisher in Australia and it was great. Usually I just wear a bandana but when I pull it up over my nose my glasses fog up. But the combination of the design and the air hole meant that I could ride with this on and never worry about that. It kept the wind off my face on the chairlift and kept my neck warm when it wasn't over my whole face. Only downer was I had a HUGE stack and snow went everywhere (up shirt, in gloves etc) and it got a little cold for a bit and was unpleasant having it on my neck which doesn't happen to the bandana, but I chucked it in my pocket for 20 mins and it was all good again. And the stack was pretty big and at pace..
"I've put them through hell, and like the fires of hell, they've kept me warm" 6/8/2012
Name: 2011 Grenade G.A.S. Snowboard Gloves Men's
Pros: Small enough to fit under other gloves, keep you warm enough on the park, don't rip or tear as easy as others
I use them as park gloves and inners when I'm riding and they are always good. I do some pretty stupid shit with me and my mates and they haven't ripped or started freying after a season and a bit.. and by my history with gloves that deserves 5 stars!
Pros: Nice board for park, Good for a first board,
Cons: Not so good in the powder,
I bought this board last year on a Canadians recommendation. I rode it in Australia on boxes, rails and jumps and it was great for my first park board. Took it to Snow Park in NZ and it was great over there. Had 2 days there and loved riding this board. Of course it didn't go quite as well as my Burton in the powder, but when it costs a quarter of the price its definitely worth it.
Great for a first timer board or a first park board, especially at the price!
"Great park glove - Australian buyers snap this one up!" 6/6/2012
Name: 2011 Grenade Fragment Gloves
Pros: Good enough for Australian winter,,
Cons: Got me by in NZ at the Snow Park, little cold,
I bought this glove last season, tore up the park in Australia and it was perfect, it kept the water out at the end of the season and kept them just warm enough when I was waiting for my turn down the pipe in the midst of winter. I took them to SnowPark in NZ and they were a little cold but they were good enough to get me by. Also wore them when freestyling a couple of times because my other gloves weren't dry and even with a decent stack in powder (or the Australian version anyway) they did the job. good glove, thoroughly recommend it to anyone in need of a good park glove!
Pros: They go best on the park but get thru pow perfect!, Love the adjustability!,
I have these bindings and love them I bought a second hand pair of them to have on my spare board, (and following the experience with them I have now switched over to riding with Ride bindings all the time.) I’m a park rider, but find myself all over the mountain as well. They are extremely comfy yet hold your foot firmly in place. The adjustability is amazing compared to other similiar bindings. I would highly recommend these to my friends!
Name: 2011 Forum Youngblood Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
Pros: Great park board -, stiff enough for big jumps, enough flex for all the jibs you love
great board been riding it since the start of this season, probably the best board i have ever owned i love the way its stiff enough for those big kickers but still has enough flex to hit those jibs I just love doing. I also agree that this board for the quality is priced way under what you could get for it.
However its a bit old and as a park board I noticed it wore out alot quicker than some of my mates boards - however for the price its worth it!
Back when I bought these in 07 I was getting out 20-30 times a season and these boots are very comfortable, to begin I was quite impressed as I ordered online and they fit perfect and were snug as anything. However, that is all they have going for them. Once I got out onto the slopes the pull cords had to be replace about every 10 uses because they fray and then snap so I had to get 2 new ones and then by the end of the season the 3rd were on their way out. The cords were under warranty but it is a pain to have to keep bringing them in to the store. The boots are not water resistant at all. On a warm day you will have water sloshing up between your toes when carving. It was alright because I got to resell them for 80% of what I bought them for which is one good thing I'll say about all burton gear I've owned but I would advise you keep looking for another boot!!
"Bit dated now but it was good when it was released.." 6/7/2011
Name: 2008 Continuum Ski DVD
Pros: The steep backcountry runs were gr8,
Cons: The steep backcountry runs WERE gr8, WERE...,
There are some outrageous runs in backcountry around the world. It's pretty dated now and are alot better ones out now, but its still worth watchingm, plus for $10 its not a bad buy to pump yourself up (especially if your like me and board 99 times out of 100 but throw the ski's on once in a while)
Cons: Well I watch it before every season so.. none, Its cheaper on here than I paid for mine , (I know thats not really a con but it annoys me)
God I love the backcountry footage - s\ome of the drops seems mind bogglingly insane and some of the rails (which I was first getting into around '09 when I first watched Derelicta) seem so hard and skillful you almost think they must have filmed it 100 times just to get one rail shot! Definitely reccomend it if you wanna pump yourself up before a weekend away! (plus its cheaper than the price tag on my copy so thats always a bonus)
Pros: Just as good as any brand better known in Aust.,
Just thought I'd provide a quick review to say I bought these from the states (from TruSnow probably) last yr and they were just as good as alot of the brands well known in Australia - if you're an Aussie looking at LTD and not sure if there as good I'll throw my 2cent in and say there worth it!
This is a great helmet, loved the breathability in the Aussie weather but I found it a bit annoying at times because I'm so used to pulling my skull candy headphones around my neck when I want to stop and chat etc. Still thoroughly recommend it for anyone looking for a helmet - definitely worth the money!
Pros: mine have never fogged up!!, mine have never fogged up!!, mine have never fogged up!!
Cons: price (so I'm a tight arse but there worth it!),
I brought these last yr (well I'm fairly sure these are the ones) cuz I was over my cheap goggles fogging up all the time and man was I stoked - I used them over 18 days I reckon and they never fogged up on my once - even in the warmer Australian days!
Name: 2011 Thirty Two Shiloh 2.0 Shell Snowboard Jacket Men's
Pros: Not overly warm,
Cons: it looks awesome, its not too warm - no cons!,
Jacket Fit: Just right
My Size: M
Fits Like: M
Description: Baggy - just the way you want it
Just tried on one my mate just bought, if anyone in Australia is looking for a jacket i'd definitely reccomend this one, I'm about to buy it, it feels like it'll breathe enough that you won't be boiling and still protect you from the wind on the chair lifts!
Pros: great as something different to do with mates,
Cons: you get over snowskating eventually,
My mate brought a snowskate last year (not this one) and it was fun to muck around with on smaller jumps as something a little different but I don't know if I'd actually buy one myself as we all got over it after an hour..
However I noticed this didn't have any details so I thought I'd post some for those who don't know what a snowskate is as I really recommend this for anyone looking for something fun and loves skateboarding like I do!
Winter has descended upon the world and sidewalks are snow- and ice-covered. The skateboard just isn't going to work once the cold season comes in. Why should that stop you from bustin' a wicked Ollie? With a Premier Collage Snowskate you can ride like a skateboard in the snow on this 36 inch, glass filled nylon royal blue base board. Grab a few friends and prove that you don't need a blue sky summer day to show your tricks at the park. From Premier, the original and authentic snowskating company, there's nothing quite like taking the Collage Snowskate out after a good snowfall.
"Not the best, but for a little fun its not too bad" 6/4/2011
Name: 2004 Booster Snowboard Shovel
Pros: Cheap and heaps lighter than the one I have now, low cost,
Cons: The handle is untrustworthy,
Personally I wasn't overly impressed with this shovel, the effort you save carrying it is all lost when you actually try to use it as you can't move anywhere near as much snow without risking breaking the shaft, I got 1 season out of it, using it probably 3 weekends before it went bustm, but I mean if your only going to muck around with it its great for the price
