"Perfect fit!" 4/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Restricted Chigurh Snow Pants
  • Pros:  waterproof rating is excellent, fits very nicely,
  • Cons:  non yet,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Fits just like a small, and not as baggy as I thought

Experience:   If you normally wear 30x30 jeans, these will be a perfect fit. Not as baggy as you see in the pictures and if you like pulling it a bit above the waist, then you'll have plenty of clearance with boots on. There are buttons and clasps for both the shell and lining so it's easy to fold up the pants after riding. Perfect fit + highly waterproof = 5 stars!
"nice tool, but awkward handle" 4/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  sturdy, compact,

Experience:   I borrowed this to use tune my board from a friend. The handle is awkward to hold, I prefer using the T shaped tools to work on my bindings. It feels better in your pocket than a T tool if you need to bring it on the slopes for whatever reasons.
"most durable goggles I own" 4/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Smith Fuse Goggles Matte Black
  • Pros:  cheap (the price), lens are very scratch resistance, very durable
  • Cons:  not enough bling bling,

Experience:   I purchased these for to use for a weekend when I forgot to bring my goggles. Brought them to every one of my trips ever since. To this day, there is not a scratch on the lenses. I've sat on them, stepped on them by accident, threw them into the washing machine and dryer. They don't break!!! It's cheap enough to keep around as a spare and put some specialized lenses on them. No real cons except they look very basic..
"Upgraded from Cartels" 4/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton P1.1
  • Pros:  more comfortable than Cartels, good for small jumps, more flexible than Cartels
  • Cons:  back side of the bindings chip easily,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I upgraded to the P1's after wearing out the Cartels. One major difference is the gel pad on the heel of the binding. It seems to cushion your landing and make multiple jumps less bumpy. These are obviously more flexible than the Cartels and imo, makes carving easier at high speeds. This is definitely an upgrade to the Cartels if you enjoy high speeds =)
"Drooling over the board now" 4/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds
  • Pros:  nice discreet style, scratch resistant,

Experience:   I was drooling over the board since the day I got it. I loved the discreet colors on the top and the steel edges on the side. I rode a Custom prior to this and gotta say this is definitely better suited for the icy, hard-packed snow we have in the northeast. Steering, turning, and tuning was a dream on this board. And if you didn't know what pop is, ride this board and you'll know =).
"One size too small" 4/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome Watts 3 In 1 Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  nice discreet graphics, liner fits like it should and looks nice by itself,
  • Cons:  liner is not attached securely to the shell,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too small
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  XS
  • Description:  It's a pea coat length, and fits like one too.

Experience:   This jacket fits like a slim cut and drops way below the waist. The liner is a comfortable fit but the shell is TIGHT. One thing I didn't like about it was the liner didn't connect into the the shell like other jackets - you would have to zip up the liner and then the shell when you're putting it on. Looks very nice and when I accidentally spill Pepsi on it no stains and it wiped right off!
"more like a sticker" 4/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Dakine Vapor
  • Pros:  looks nice,
  • Cons:  no grip, a piece came off the first day,

Experience:   I bought these because it looked nice and only cost $5 bucks but they broke on me the first day. I definitely don't recommend this as a stomp pad, but you may use it like a very cool pop-up sticker.
"nice starter bindings" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Custom
  • Pros:  great for beginners,
  • Cons:  probably get bored of them quickly, not the best performance on high speeds,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   I think these are great for beginners. I tried my friend's setup with these the Blunt. Together, it makes turning very easy but you loose the stability at high speeds and high speed turning. It'll work well in the beginning, but you'll probably grow out of them once you learn how to go FAST!
"pretty good, but still gets wet" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Approach
  • Pros:  not as bulky as other overgloves, awesome colors,
  • Cons:  gets wet after a while,

Experience:   I got these gloves from a local shop. It's pretty good, but water starts seeping in at the end of an 8 hour day on the mountain. It's very durable though - I abuse my gloves and there's barely a scratch on them yet.
"comfy and laces up quick" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Moto
  • Pros:  laces up quick, comfortable, inexpensive
  • Cons:  flex is almost too soft,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  7.5
  • Boot Size:  7.0

Experience:   My friend bought these and I used them on occassion. The flex is a LOT softer than my Driver X's. But then again, they're sooooo comfy. It rides very nice when I also use my friends smaller board (149 vs 152). I have yet to try these on a lo-back binding which the instructor recommended. I'm only giving 4 of 5 stars because I prefer stiffer boots. Other than that, great value!!!
"decent pants, just don't sit on them too long..." 4/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Columbia Blackcomb
  • Pros:  nice and basic,
  • Cons:  not that waterproof,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  one size too big

Experience:   I tried these out in a store. I'm usually a medium but I ended up getting a small for these pants. Sat down on the slope on a very cold day to eat a cereal bar and got up with snow stuck to my butt. Definitely don't get these if you're planning to sit down on the slopes quite a bit. You'll just end up getting your underwear wet...
