"Nice Bag... Patern Questionable" 12/11/2009
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Distortion
  • Pros:  Pleanty of room, Skate Strap, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Rn Bandanna Color Scheme Is Wack, Can't carry a snowboard,

Experience:   My wife already has this bag and I picked it up with the RN Bandanna color scheme for $10 even though the color scheme was super ugly. What I didn't realize was there are skills, diamonds, brass knuckles and weed leafs all over it. I have nothing against weed, but I don't want to advertise it either. Other than the incriminating color scheme, it is a solid bag.

  • Name: 2010 Anon Hawkeye Painted
  • Pros:  Great Field of vision, Works well with helmet, Look sick
  • Cons:  Kind of expensive., May be too big for some people,

Experience:   The Hawkeye seems to be Anon's answer to the Electric EG2's and VZ Feenoms, offering a wide field of vision and great optical clarity. One thing I really like about Anons is they work great with RED helmets with no problem. Another great thing about them is you look like you are a Mig pilot when you wear them. I have the blue solex lens, and it is sick looking.

  • Name: 2014 Burton Ion Leather Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Good Support/response, Warm
  • Cons:  pretty stiff out of the box, Pricey,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  13
  • Boot Size:  13

Experience:   This is my third pair of Ions. They can be hard on the wallet, but they are an outstanding boots with a pretty stiff flex. People have complained that in more recent years, the stiff flex of the Ions went away, but it is surely back with the 2014 model. My first day riding these, I wasn't too happy. It was a powder day, and the boots were very, very stiff right out of the box. Ski boot stiff. I like stiff boots, and I am actually coming off a pair of Driver X's (considered a very stiff boot), but it was too much. I actually swapped them out half way through the day for my old boots. So, I busted them out for a few days on hard pack, and they broke in pretty nice. Nice and supportive and responsive, but not super ski boot stiff. Rode them in some nice powder this past weekend, and I was very happy with them. I bought the leather ones because the regular Ions weren't available in my size, but I am actually pretty happy with the leather option. The boots look better as you use them. They seem like they will hold up better, too. We'll see. The new seemless liner is pretty sweet. They fit well, right out of the box. It has the foot heat reflector things, that are supposed to keep your feet warm. My feet never got cold on the -10 degree days I've had them out.

  • Name: 2013 Burton AK Freebird Bib Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  Dry!, No plumbers butt!,
  • Cons:  Expensive!,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XXL
  • Fits Like:  XXL
  • Description:  Regular Fit

Experience:   Awww yeah, son! Burton Freebird bibs are where it's at, son! 3L Goretex shell to keeps you dry when you need it. Keeps me warm on those windy Vermont days. Since it is a shell, you do need to layer up accordingly. With a merino wool ninja suit and a 3L jacket, it is warm enough for me most days when the temperature is still in the positives. The elastic sides of the bib are nice for adding flexibility to them when you have to strap in. The zipper setup makes it pee friendly when you gotta go. The material of the Burlap is pretty rugged, which can be questionable with some Gore Tex outerwear. Burlap runs a little longer than black.

  • Name: 2011 Capita Charlie Slasher FK Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  Rocker!, Powder!, Fast!
  • Cons:  Not a lot of variety in sizes,

Experience:   I own the Charlie 164. This board is fast, floaty and fun. It takes a little used to get the smaller tail, but once you do you'll be slashing and spraying your friends and enemies, and carving all over the mountain, not just in the trees or powder fields. The taper and rockered nose give it nice float in the pow, where Charlie really likes to play. I have a size 13 foot and ride with Burton Ion boots, I ride -9, 9 angles on my bindings, and I have no problem with toe drag. The board is also solidly constructed. I don't abuse my boards, but my boards topsheet still looks immaculate with over a dozen days on it this year, some of them in questionable early season east coast woods conditions. The Chuck Slasher is a super fun board, at a great price.
"Really Comfortable" 1/12/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Union Data
  • Pros:  Easy To Adjust, Really Confortable, Good Support
  • Cons:  Buckles can stick, Toe ramps kind of flimsy,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I really like these bindings. They are really comfortable, easy to adjust. I never have problems with the hardware coming loose like some people say they have. The only bad things about them are the buckles can stick when you are unstrapping. Also the toe ramps feel like they have the potential to break.

  • Name: 2007 Burton AK Lightweight
  • Pros:  Warm. Comfortable. Goggle wipe FTW!
  • Cons:  Expensive.

Experience:   I bought this as a shell for my AK 3L jacket. THe AK shells are pretty minimalistic. One feature they do not have is an inside pocket. This provided and inside pocket along with a goggle wipe. I ordered the Firecracker color and it is stupid funky fresh. It's got this crazy fuzzy liner on the inside.

"AK A.O.K." 1/29/2014
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (3) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton AK 2L Summit Womens
  • Pros:  Waterproof, Warm, Lifetime warranty
  • Cons:  wacky belt system, no mesh in venting,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Normal. Not baggy, not tight

Experience:   Ok, so I bought these pants for my wife. There are a few things you should know about these pants. Good and bad. 1. They are AK Gore-tex which is spectacularly awesome about keeping you warm and dry. 2. They are lined, not insulated. Not a big deal. Just know what you are getting. 3. There is no mesh to keep the snow out of the venting system. 4. It has a wacky belt system. You can't use your own belt. It has something built in that is a pull tab that tucks in. That's the best way to describe it. That being said. If you really like to snowboard, and want to go out in any conditions. These are a great pair of affordable, Gore Tex pants for you. The Light Bright (or whatever) color isn't that obnoxious in person. It kind of really looks like 3D Lights sticking out.
"Kitten Mittens!" 1/28/2013
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Burton AK Oven Snowboard Mitts Men's
  • Pros:  Toasty Warm, Leather Palm, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Velcro Strap, Seperated fingers,

Experience:   These mittens are like a down sleeping bag for your hands. Super warm for the coldest days. The leather palms are great. You don't have to worry about them ripping apart on you when you need to grab a tree. One bad thing is how your fingers are separated from each other inside the mitten. Kind of weird, but they still were super warm. The other is how the cuff is velcro, and velcro and pow don't mix well all the time. Anyway, I highly suggest these mittens if you like warm fingers.
"Snowner inducing" 2/17/2012

  • Name: 2012 Burton Malavita EST Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Super comfortable, Highly tweakable, Nice soft flex
  • Cons:  Spensive,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   I love my Malavitas. They are super easy to set up and adjust. The hinge on the 2012s is really nice for the lateral flex. Woth the upgrade from 2011 in my opinion. When I use these bindings I feel like I can throw my board around however I want. These bindings are super comfy. I love the asymetrical foot strap (which you can flip for different support if you want to). I never have foot pain.

  • Name: 2011 Burton Fish Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  Floaty, Loves to carve, Fast!
  • Cons:  Switch can be a bitch, Expensive, Looks like a penis

Experience:   My Fish setups is a 164 with 2012 Malavita EST bindings. I use Driver X boots. I love this board if there is any amount of freshies out there. This board hauls ass, floats through the pow and carves on a dime. I have size 13 feet and have no trouble carving with this board. My toes never catch. This board is so nimble it is ridiculous. It has nice pop and is super light, too. If you really love the pow, you should own this board. Even if you only get to use it once a year. I cannot stop smiling when I ride my Fish.

"My Hippie Riding Shoes" 11/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Merrell Jungle Moc Nubuck Shoes
  • Pros:  Slip On & Off, Comfortable,
  • Cons:  Poor Traction, low cut can get snow in it,

Experience:   These are my go to shoes when I drive to the mountain. No laces to get wet and icey. I wear them driving then slip them off and slip into my snowboard boots in the parking lot. The traction is pretty bad on snow and ice. They are really comfortable and well made. Since they are low cut, snow can fall into them, but they are pretty water resistant, otherwise.
"Split It Up!" 6/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Voile SD Mojo Split
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  Nice Float, Comes with almost everything you need to split, Stiff
  • Cons:  Dings/Scratches Super Easy, My base had holes in it near the edges,

Experience:   This is a nice split board. It is nice and stiff like a split should be. It's sidecut makes floating in the pow nice. Similar to a Supermodel. Voile's interface is super easy to use at a (relatively) affordable price. You pretty much get everything you need to start splitting except for poles and regular bindings. Skins and the Voile interface come with it. The split I got was kind of shoddily constructed. The edges were not connected to the base at some points. It never came apart while it was being ridden, but I sent it back for warranty anyway because I didn't want a problem developing down the line.

"Reversal of Fortune" 4/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Nice flex For butters, Stiff enough to carve, Stable at high speeds/in the chop

Experience:   Reverse camber for the people. I took the 160w out for a few days of mostly icy/hardpack riding, and it performed like a champ. It was great all around the mountain. Very stable on bombing runs (yes, you can go fast.). Carved really nice. You should carry some toast with you, because this board loves butters. Great pop, too! I got this in a little bit of freshies, and the rc was nice to have for lift.
"No Bindings No Problem" 4/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton No Fish Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Off Trail,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Fish Shape, Inexpensive, Nofish!
  • Cons:  Made in China by Burton.. booooo!,

Experience:   I took this out just to play around with after the resort closed. I didn't get it out in the pow, but had a fun time just playing around with it. It reminded me of taking the Snurfer out on my front hill when I was a kid, only more tech!

Comments & Questions

Are there holes under the pad if you want to add bindings? Could use this on a pow day at the resort and then put the pad back on for backcountry.

VermontRider
Nope.

VermontRider
Nope. Also, I'm a dumbass. This board was not made in China. It was made in Austria. Still, it wasn't made in Vermont. Boo!

"Like C02s" 3/20/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Escapade Womens
  • Pros:  Stiff, Light, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Highbacks kind of flimsy.,
  • Flex:  stiff

Experience:   I gto these bindings for my wife as backups because they were super cheap. She has C02s now, and these are very similar to them, except the are a female specific binding. Nice, stiff and aggressive. Great for hauling ass on the gromers or through the trees. The bad: The highbacks can break if you step on them when skating, or if they get crushed by the lift, so drop them down when you are loading. The air filled straps aren't as comfortable as the old style plush ones.
"This Thing Is HUGE!" 12/30/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Wheelie Sub Luggage Bag
  • Pros:  Huge!, Lots of compartments, It's Two Bags
  • Cons:  Huge!,

Experience:   Tons of compartments for just about everything. Splits into two bags. Which is great in case the whole thing is too big to fit somewhere as a whole. Also good if the whole thing weighs too much when you are flying. Just split it in two and it is two bags that weigh less.
"Great jacket, Audex sucks." 12/11/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Audex Motorola Down Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Super Warm, Super Comfy, Wrist gaiters!
  • Cons:  Too warm at times, Audex audio sucks,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  XL
  • Description:  Normal fit. Not too baggy. Not too small.

Experience:   This is a really nice down jacket. Perfect for those really cold days. The down insulation is great for packing it into your pack without taking up too much room on backcountry riding so you don't become a sweat bomb on your way up.
"No MJ At This Neverland" 10/13/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Absinthe Films Neverland
  • Pros:  Powder!, Good soundtrack, Sick Riders
  • Cons:  Too much bailing, Some street riding. ,

Experience:   You'll be sucked into Neverland right from Nicco's opening sequence. Tons of great pow riding, and even the street scenes are bearable. The no boarding section is awesome. There did seem to be a lot of bailing in the movie. Still, it was a pretty good movie. Quality you'd expect from Absinthe.
"Nice socks, but get that image of Guth out of my head!" 9/23/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Ultralight
  • Pros:  Nice weight for warm riding., Good quality., Flash... Ah! Ah!
  • Cons:  Guth in his Speedo. :(, We'll see if the red ruins my other clothing.,
  • Fit:  Too small
  • My Size:  XL
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  They fit me, but could be a smidge bigger for my sasquatch 13s.

Experience:   If you are like me, you are a sweaty mess. These socks help you become less of a sweaty mess on those warm days. No longer do I have to choose between thin ski socks, athletic socks, and thick snowboarding socks when it is warm out. If Goldilocks had to choose some socks on a warm day, she'd tap these.
"Nice Big Bag" 7/30/2009

  • Name: 2008 Burton Wheelie Double Deck Luggage Bag
  • Pros:  Big. Easy to maneuver. Handles for loading and unloading. Easy to organize. Nice big wheels.
  • Cons:  The expandable interior material is like neoprene, and I don't foresee that lasting too long.

Experience:   Plenty of room for all your gear. Lots of compartments make organization easy.
"OK" 7/28/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  It is a good deterrent for thieves. Enough length for 2 boards.
  • Cons:  It is 2 pieces so if you lose 1 you are SOL. If someone wants to break the cable, they can.

Experience:   Boards get stolen. It sucks. People can break locks, but at least it is a deterrent.

i really personally dont think so. sure its eco-friendly but definately not the best wax ive used. its not slick or smooth and on my board the base looks drier than it was before waxing. if i had to choose a wax id go with oneballjay or toko. ive had no problems with either of their all temp waxes

Experience:   These are a great alternative to Burton C60s. Of course they are light, and they are pretty stiff, too. The mesh on the toe strap can wear down your boot. At full price they are pretty expensive.

Experience:   THIS JACKET IS SICK! It is just a shell, but it will keep you dry all day in the pouring rain, so just layer up. Believe me, AK gear is worth the price. Lifetime warranty, guaranteed breathable, guaranteed waterproof! AK 3L FTW! While there aren't iPod controls, there is a small sliver in the waterproof chest pocket you can run a wire through for your MP3 player. I wish this jacket had a few more pockets, maybe an inside pocket, but this jacket is all about simplicity and functionality. That works for me.

  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Carving,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Strong edgehold, Stiff, Well known brand

Experience:   Sasquatch footers, your board has arrived. This board rips everything! It has nice pop, can do groomers at high speeds and blast through pow. The only thing I do not like, and it is a Lib Tech thing, they don't have fully wrapped edges. Stupid. I know I don't carve on them tip or tail, but the edges make a board so much more durable. Especially in the woods.

  • Pros:  lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Great value, Soft
  • Cons:  Top sheet scratches

Experience:   Great board. I'm really stoked I picked this up. The board just looks awesome and would be worth it just to throw up on the wall. It rides great. It's more of a freestyle board, but you can ride it all mountain no problem.

  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Stiff, Well known brand

Experience:   I absolutely love this board. I ride the 172. I wish they still made it. The wide customs that replaced them are too soft in my opinion.

  • Name: 2009 Burton Moto
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Easy lacing, Durable, Good quality, Warm, Easy in & out, Well known brand, Popular model
  • Fit:  soft

Experience:   These boots are way too soft. They are comfortable, but would better be suited for shoveling the driveway. The best thing about them is the speed lacing system.
"Nice Gloes" 2/5/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton AK Guide
  • Pros:  Warm! Not too bulky. they have neoprene under cuff, so if they get wet, you aren't cold. These are a nice compromise for warmth and maneuverability. They are quality made.
  • Cons:  A little tough to take off.

Experience:

  • Name: 2009 Burton Ion
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Durable, Traction, Good quality, Warm, Breathable, Waterproofing, Easy in & out, Well known brand
  • Fit:  heel is snug

Experience:   Some things are so awesome that I have to stockpile them. I have perfectly good Ions and at 40% off I couldn't resist buying another pair. They were a little painful to break in because I didn't heat mold them, but after a couple of times riding, they fit perfectly. Great boots, but they are stiff and not very forgiving. Not for a beginner.

  • Name: 2011 Superfeet Footbeds F

Experience:   If your feet hurt, try adjusting your bindings. Also, buy a good pair of boots to begin with and they'll have good foot beds. It might be an improvement if you have cheap boots, but you might as well do it right to begin with.

  • Name: 2007 RED Aletta Audex Sub Womens
  • Pros:  Helmet is nice.
  • Cons:  Audio system sucks. It's awkward all around. It doesn't work well with Burton's own audio systems in their jackets. Sound sucks. It's all crackly. No easy mute feature. To warranty claims it goes!
