"Decent board" 12/2/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2008 Atomic Pivot Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Flexible, Pop,
  • Cons:  A little squirelly,

Experience:   I wan't a great rider when I demoed this, but found it a lot of fun, if a little sketchy at speed.
"Bit rubbish" 1/16/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Option Carlito
  • Pros:  None,
  • Cons:  Cheap construction,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Used this binding on a demo board way back when, bit of a rubbish binding really. Poorly constructed, terrible ratchets.
"Good cambered beginner board" 1/14/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Option GT
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Well built,
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   Good solid board. Not too heavy. Mid flex. My GF loves it. Good for a beginner or intermediate freerider.
"Not great" 1/14/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Moto Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Cheap,
  • Cons:  Not comfortable,

Experience:   My girlfired has these boots, but has huge problems with heel lift and says they are quite uncomfotable around the arch area. May be a fit issue, but the construction does look / feel lower quality.
"Awesome" 12/23/2011

  • Name: 2011 Forum Destroyer Chillydog Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Easy to turn, Light,

Experience:   Spent a day on a friends chillidog recently. Super impressed. Very easy to turn, light and great for tricks. Wasn't much I didnt like...
"Ok" 12/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine 10in Snowboard Scraper
  • Pros:  Wont damage board,
  • Cons:  Dulls quickly,

Experience:   Does the job initially, but will dull quickly. I guess that's the nature of any plastic scraper though. Recommended perhaps for your first attempt at waxing your own board, as less chance of doing damage than a metal scraper.
"Good lock" 12/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Micro Lock
  • Pros:  Easy to use, Light,
  • Cons:  Wont resist much if someones serious,

Experience:   Good lock. I've actually had three of these. The first i replaced as someone had dragged my two bags (which were locked together) around a hostel baggage room and stripped some of the coating on the cable. Lock didnt break, but retraction didnt work so well. Lost the second one. Now on the lucky third. This is really just a deterrent lock rather than anything fool proof, but will do the trick in most circumstances.
"Great softshell" 12/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Sessions Stripe Softshell Hoodie
  • Pros:  Waterproof, Not too warm, Room for layering underneath
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  A little baggy

Experience:   Picked this thing up for about $39, which is an amzing deal. It is genuinely waterproof (have worn it in torrential rain), reasonably warm by itself, but with enough room underneath to layer up if it gets properly cold. I always sweat in full snowboarding jackets, so this is perfect...if it gets really cold, or before a really exposed lift, I can stick a jumper on underneath...but otherwise, this is perfect.
"Not great" 12/13/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Rossignol RPM Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Not good at speed, Poor edge hold,

Experience:   used this board at an indoor snowdome last week. Really crappy board if you ask me. Didn't get along with it at all, though admittedly the one I rode was a little short for me. Poor edge hold and sketchy at speed. Not at all good for landing jumps in a freestyle session.
"Awesome" 12/2/2011

  • Name: 2012 Smartwool Phd Snowboard Medium Socks Men's
  • Pros:  Good fit, Comfortable,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Perfect

Experience:   Really comfortable, warm sock. Doesn't get too smelly. That's about all you can ask for in a sock really!
"Reasonable board for a beginner" 11/29/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Burton TWC Standard Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Decent turn initiation, Easy to ride,
  • Cons:  Not great when it gets icy, Jumpy at speed,

Experience:   Reasonable entry level snowboard for those looking to progress from renting. Not great by any means, but rode this as a rental for a week in France and made good progression.
"Solid boot" 11/29/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Salomon Savage Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Snug fit for narrow ankles, Comfortable, Good tightening
  • Cons:  Bought second hand, so a touch 'packed out',
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9.5 UK
  • Boot Size:  9.5 UK

Experience:   Really comfortable, fit much better than any other boots i have tried. Was lucky enough to pick a pair second hand with a weeks wear in them, having tried on a new pair in a store. The lining has compressed a touch from the previous use, but still fits very well and comfotable. Excellent adjustment capability (I have lace rather than BOA version).
"Cracking board" 11/29/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Lib Tech Lando Phoenix Series C2 BTX Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Fast, Responsive, Great edge hold
  • Cons:  ?,

Experience:   Really great board. There aren't many of them around, but well worth it. I'm relatively inexperienced (only a few weeks on the snow), so did wonder whether I was buying 'too much board', but I shouldn't have worried. This boad is easy to turn, has great edge hold and very rapidly developed my confidence. Felt as though i made a huge leap forward in my riding in just the first couple of hours on this..
