"152 Ride Machete" 12/31/2009
Helpful Review?   (17) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Ride Machete
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Jumps,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Jumps, Groomers, All mountain

Experience:   I got to borrow my friends 152 Ride Machete paired with Betas from two seasons ago. Conditions, ride on East Coast, was fairly hardpacked with a slight layer of edgeable snow on top. Overall, I enjoyed this board and the rocker was not quite as extreme as I expected. It is noticeable but nothing that makes this board feel loose. The first thing I noticed on this board was the great amount of pop. The board popped very well off the tail and I had no problems riding switch. Overall a mid-flex board that felt very stable on the groomers. Took it into the park for a run and it felt good off some small jumps. The only problem or dislike was when it came to jibbing. I would have liked something a little softer but its by no means impossible to hit rails with. In conclusion, this is a great board and would recommend it to someone who's looking for a good all around board that can hit the park and other parts of the mountain.

  • Name: 2011 K2 Parkstar Wide Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Great for jibbing, Holds an edge well, Fun to mess around with

Experience:   Demoed this board for acouple of runs and I ended up loving it by the end. The parkstar will defiantly be my next board that I purchase. The first thing I noticed was how fun it was just to butter and mess around with. Great flex for pressing but not soft that it will wash out. It held a edge well and felt very stable while riding. I next took it into the park and it exceled. Great for jibbing and locked into presses easily. Going off jumps it had great pop and felt stable when landing. I would recommend this board to someone who rides park first and then wants a board that can handle its own outside of the park.
"Nothing Special" 11/24/2010

  • Name: 2009 Grenade Team CC935 Snowboard Gloves - Men's
  • Pros:  Great for warm days, Light weight, Style
  • Cons:  Price, Show wear quickly,

Experience:   As people have already said, these gloves are great for warm spring days when you want a light glove and not the bulky cold weather ones. One of the big issues with these gloves is the price, the only time I buy grenade gloves is when they are on sale. I would never pay full price. I also noticed how easily these show wear with only a couple of days of riding. My Eddie Wall Sr gloves did the samething as they got pretty beat up only after a few days. For someone who is wondering about fit, grenade gloves tend to be a size smaller than normal so size up if you are between sizes. I wear a medium with dakine gloves but my grenade gloves are large.

  • Name: 2010 Celtek Claw Snowboard Gloves Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Durable,
  • Cons:  Little pricy,

Experience:   Wore this glove for the past season and have been very pleased with it. The glove is very comfortable and isn't overly stiff to deter movement. There are pads over the knuckles which is something different but haven't really found a need for them. As far as a temp range to wear these, I would say 15-40 degree range is the best for these gloves.

  • Name: 2010 DC Phase Snowboard Boots Women's
  • Pros:  Cheap, Durable,
  • Cons:  Pack out easy, Basic,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   This is a great basic boot for someone who is not looking to spend a lot of money. I've ridden with much better boots but these boots work well enough for the beginner or intermediate rider. The boot overall is a midflex but it did soften up very quickly. The inner boot works well for securing the foot but a little more ankly support would be preferred. The standard lacing system works well and is the best in my opinion. There are not many bells and whistles with these boots but for someone strapped on cash, I'd highly recommend these. Because of the low price, I give this a 4 out of 5.
"Tallboy Beanie" 11/23/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Tall Boy Beanie
  • Pros:  Good material, Wear two ways,
  • Cons:  Too baggy,
  • Fit:  Too big
  • Description:  Good fit, really baggy

Experience:   The material of the beanie is very good and not overly thick. Its not too thick or too thin to only wear in certain temperatures. Good quality. Versatile in that you can wear it two ways, baggy or fold it for a tighter fit. Only issue is that it is too big if you don't fold it and aren't going for that look.
"155 Stunt" 11/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Stunt Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Rails
  • Pros:  Locks into presses, Easy to spin,

Experience:   I won this board off of a daily giveaway. I went with the 155 with is a larger board than I usually like but I already have a similar board off the stunt in a smaller size. I would have gotten a smaller size if I did it over again. I paired this board with a pair of Rome 390s and rode at Seven Springs. Overall, I thought this board was just alright. It is very soft and playful and locks into presses really well. You never feel like you'll wash out. I had no problem spinning threes on flat ground. When going off jumps, this board felt clumsy to me. I couldn't find a sweetspot with popping off jumps. I hated the board the first day I rode it because of that. I got use to it the more I rode it but I still never really liked it. This board was great for jibbing and general riding was stable but I don't think I'd ever buy this board. I'd probably give this a 3 out of 5 if I didn't get it for free. I also think I should have gotten a smaller size but I don't know how that would of helped on jumps.

  • Name: 2010 Coal The Frena Beanie
  • Pros:  Warm, Good Fit, Good quality
  • Fit:  Just right
  • Description:  Perfect fit, not too tight, not too baggy

Experience:   Bought this beanie with another from a member on this site. I was really impressed with the quality of the beanie. Never had a Coal beanie before but I plan on buying more in the future. Good fit, and good size.

  • Fit:  Just right
  • Fits Like:  M

"Good stuff" 4/3/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Forum Forum or Against Em
  • Pros:  Intros to each rider's part is a nice feature and its interesting to hear a little about the rider. Lots of different shots(street, park, pow)
  • Cons:  Seems to slow down during the middle and tend to lose interest

Experience:   Overall a good video and a little different from the majority of other vids, solid vid to represent the current forum team
"Great board, 146" 2/21/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Gnu Danny Kass Pro Model
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Durable, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Well known brand

Experience:   First off the board was a 146 which is a lot smaller than I normally ride. Even with that, the board rode well and was pretty stable when riding. Stiffer between the bindings but the nose/tail are softer for presses. The board had great pop and I had fun throwing the thing around.
"08 Black/Green Rome 390s" 2/21/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Rome 390
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   I really enjoy these bindings and own the 09s. The major difference between the two is the ankle strap. The new model has the additional of gel and it more comfy in my opinion. If you find both and these are cheaper, buy the 08s. The bindings are solid and have a great flex for riding park. I'd consider them midflex not being that soft and would work well for groomers and basic riding. Ratchets works well and no complaints yet on these bindings.

  • Name: 2009 Sierra Mountain Short Sleeve
  • Pros:  Good looking shirt, nice color and graphic, represent Sierra
  • Cons:  I got a medium and it was bigger than most mediums that I wear. It's not that huge that I can't wear it but a little larger than normal.

Experience:

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Travis Rice and Quiksilver Thats it Thats All
  • Pros:  Amazing shots throughout the video, sick back country, Rice kills it and cast of other riders throughout the film, everything is shot with HD cameras so its quality is great. if you like backcountry, jumps this is the must have movie
  • Cons:  No street for people looking for rails and urban hits

Experience:
"Un-Inc 156" 1/24/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Un-Inc
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Durable, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Strong edgehold, Great value, Popular on mountain, Well known brand

Experience:   Great board for those who want a stiffer park board that can do the big jumps, great amount of pop to this board, a little stiff for rails/boxes but it is possible, fast base and good edgehold on ice(east coast rider here) If your looking for a board more for jibs look at something else
"Lime Green Mittens" 1/24/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Grenade Mandreas Mitt
  • Pros:  Look sweet, comfy and good movement for mittens, nice fleecy material in the inside, alright waterproofing but nothing special
  • Cons:  For the price, could be better as far as warmth

Experience:   Grenade gloves run small in my own experience so take that in consideration when ordering, I usually wear a M in other brands but a large for Grenade products
"White 2009 P1.1's" 1/23/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton P1.1
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Good construction quality, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   Rode this with a uninc and really enjoyed these bindings. A very comfy strap and the bindings have a nice medium flex for all around riding. The bindings need adjusting at first to fit properly and avoid slippage but after that the bindings are great. Buckles are bit of a hassle at first until you get use to them.

Lots of pockets to store everything that you have. Vents on the side to cool you down...Pants are very baggy so look out for that but it is special blend so you should expect that.
