"Great Helmet!" 9/24/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2013 Smith Vantage Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Fit/Adjustability, Durability, Functional

Experience:   I have had issues finding a helmet that would fit with a beanie under it...while still being snug and useful. The Smith Vantage fits the bill. There is a BOA like adjustment wheel for the base of your head/top of neck that works great for changing the size up. This helmet is light weight and durable. Ever since I got it, I haven't ridden without it...you would think it would be more beat up from trees/branches/whatever else I may have collided with, but it isn't. The helmet is still in great shape after a whole season of random crashes. The audio is decent and better than my old R.E.D. Mutiny and hasn't broken after half a season (like the RED one did) I would highly recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a well protected head without looking like they're wearing a bucket. I have a friend who has the same helmet and he loves it as well. Hope this helped!

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Reverse Crew Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Chop,Crud,Groomers,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Powder
  • Pros:  Light, Stable, Sexy-Subtle Graphics, Pop, Speeeed!,

Experience:   Had the pleasure of riding this board up at Shakapalooza and was then given the pleasure of taking it home with me. I rode it on groomers and a little bit of powder. I came from riding a Lib Tech TRS BTX 157 and rode the 155 Reverse Crew. My first thought when riding it was Holy crap! I'm hauling ass! I found it to be much faster than my lib tech, it might have been the factory wax on it, or the base, I'm not sure, but it was definitely slick on the snow. The stiffness of the board gave me stability when I hit the chop and I wasn't bounced around at all unless I carved straight into it. I have been trying to ollie off of small rollers the past couple weekends and I found this board to have way more pop, ollies were way easier, I got more air, and I landed very stable. Took me a run to get used to not having magnetraction but after that I was in love, can't wait to ride this board some more, super fun ride. Oh! concerning powder, I was riding a really flat spot and I had low speed so it was a bad idea, but when I went in a sunk pretty fast, however my stance was super wide and I think my nose was just too heavily weighted to float over it that well, coupled with lack of speed and decline, you're gonna end up stopping. I've read other good reviews of it in the powder, so I think my case was more unique (and stupid judgment on my part). Highly recommend this board!

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Targa Womens
  • Pros:  This glove is really good, I actually won it by explaining why I deserved them in 25 words or less, it was pretty cool. These gloves are really warm, they have gore-tex which is very nice, they are easy to get on and off, but don't fall off easily, which is really nice. I never get snow down them, and if I do it's caught right at the wrist and you can just shake it and it's gone. I have really small hands and I got a size Medium and they fit almost perfectly, so if you have slightly larger hands for a girl, go for the Larges. These even have nose wipe material on the thumbs.
  • Cons:  No cons that I can think of, I pretty much love these gloves!

Experience:   Good gloves, not SUPER expensive, but definitely worth the money. Buy these if you're sick of cold, snow covered hands. Pretty stylish too! I get compliments from friends on them.
"My Go-To Beanie" 5/9/2012

  • Name: 2009 Coal The Team Beanie
  • Pros:  Fit, Color Options, Quality
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Average sized, slouches just enough in the back.

Experience:   I got this beanie for free at a Sierra Snowboard meet up. I like my beanies a bit longer so they slouch a little in the back so I unrolled the fold. This beanie is my go-to beanie for winter casual wear. I loved the free one I got so much I bought another one in a different color. There are tons of options and after washing it roughly 20+ times the beanie is still in good condition. Keeps you warm, is comfortable, and stylish, would highly recommend!

  • Name: 2011 Oakley Splice Goggles Jet Black/Black Iridium
  • Pros:  Wide Viewing Angle, Quality Construction, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Price (But you get what you pay for),

Experience:   I bought the Oakley Splices last year and I love them. The wide viewing angle allows me to see more and sometimes I forget I'm even wearing the goggles. The frame and anti-fogging is still in great condition after a season and a half of riding and the lens (Blue iridium which seems great in the majority of conditions) has a few scratches from hitting branches but nothing from standard storage. When I end up buying new goggles I will likely pick up some Splices again, would highly recommend anything by Oakley!

  • Name: 2010 Sierra V Spot Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Halfpipe,Jibs,Jumps,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Playful, Easy Jumps, Sierra Graphics
  • Cons:  A bit soft,

Experience:   First off, I'm a girl and I'm 5' 10 and roughly 145lbs. For me, this board is very soft and easy to mess around on. I ride the 151 and the waist width is just big enough for my size 9 boots. It's basically a really easy and fun park board because my height and weight flex it easily. It would probably be stiffer for a smaller girl, but for me it's a great park board as opposed to my more all around board the Sierra Reverse Crew 155.
"Love These Pants!" 4/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Analog Asset Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  Fit, vents, waterproof, functionality, Color, Pockets
  • Cons:  None,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Comfortably baggy but not overly so.

Experience:   Decided to get some new pants because the ones I had were wearing out, getting holes in them and had completely lost their waterproofing. SS was having a sale (crazy huh?) so I bought these pants on a whim. I couldn't be happier, first of all I'm a girl, but I'm 5' 10 and all legs, I have a hard time finding pants long enough, and these fit great, bought a Large and these are a TAD long, but not annoyingly so. The pockets are great, the cargo ones are beefy and well positioned on the leg for easy access. I can already tell these pants are going to last a while, pretty beefy construction. I got the Purple Iodine color and wasn't too sold on it, but when they got here I fell in love, super bright, fuchsia colored, more pink than purple, but very rich. Waterproofing was amazing I sat in some really slushy spring conditions and was perfectly dry! The thigh vents are easy to open and close but don't do so unwantingly, nice strong mesh on them as well. Couldn't recommend these pants more!

  • Name: 2010 Burton Emerald Womens
  • Pros:  Heel Hold, Fast/Easy Lacing, Perfect Stiffness
  • Cons:  Price,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   This is my third pair of boots in three seasons...the first two, Vans Omni and Burton Trysts were too big and I didn't get a proper boot fitting. I decided I was sick of having ridiculous foot pain that would bruise my foot bone and leave me hobbling around so I decided to shell out the cash and buy some boots at the beginning of the season. Couldn't be happier, I have a narrowish foot, I'm a girl and I had lots of problems with heelhold. I went to a store in WA and tried these on based on the staff member measuring my foot. They fit great, love the customizable lacing zones, top and bottom. I found that I was so paranoid about heellift that I would tighten these too tight and have bad foot pain again and they would go numb(might be what other people were experiencing) however, I found a happy medium where I tighten them a little bit less than I think I need and now I have no foot pain, great heel hold and no numbness. I can even tighten my bindings less. I seriously love these boots, took me three seasons to find and after 17 days riding hard on them they are still fitting great, packed out a little so I would say buy them tight and after about 3 days they will be good to go! Highly recommend, but you should always try them on in a shop and remember, don't tighten them TOO tight...I think that might be the biggest problem that other people have because I completely disagree with the other bad reviews. No wear on the boots and zero water soaking through and I've been in some rainy conditions. Buying at the end of the season is your best bet because these boots are a tad pricey, but well worth it, I don't regret spending the money on them at all! :D
"These Socks Rock my Socks off! " 7/22/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Fair Isle Late Release Womens
  • Pros:  I bought these socks for $2 each (I bought two pairs at that price, it was such a deal!) These are GREAT Burton socks, really comfortbale, soft, padded a bit so your shins still feel good by the end of the day. They are also pretty high on the leg, which I really like. I have pretty long calves and these come up to my knees. Tight around the calf as well so they won't ride down throughout the day. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a good snowboarding sock, and at $2 a pair, you're be stupid not to pick these up!
  • Cons:  None!

Experience:   I got the red ones because it was the only ones available, and I figured, oh well, they'll be in boots, who cares about how they look, but after receiving them in the mail, I'm diggin the red quite a bit! Way better in person than on the picture in my opinion!

  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   I bought these bindings when they went on sale and I couldn't be happier! They look great on my board and they work like a charm. Fit great on my board, easy to mount and adjust! Super comfy straps! Easy to undo not like my old bindings! The only possible problem is the toe strap slipping up, but if you tighten them down a lot (which doesn't hurt AT ALL) then it isn't really a problem! Go out and buy these bindings, and you won't be disappointed!
"Good Beginner to Intermediate board!" 2/4/2009

  • Name: 2009 Salomon Pulse
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,Powder
  • Pros:  lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Strong edgehold, Great value, Well known brand

Experience:   This was my first snowboard and it was really good to learn on, it had a soft flex so it was pretty forgiving, and the price didn't hurt the wallet too bad. Good to learn on and to progress to an intermediate level, if you're looking for an intermediate board that will take you to an advanced level I would upgrade to something a bit more stiff, but for learning and honing your skills, it's a great buy!

  • Name: 2009 Salomon Classic

  • Pros:  Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   So I actually have a year or two older model of this binding, but as far as I know they are the same except for color. The ones I have work great, I've had them for a couple seasons and they are still holding strong! The black ones that I have are awesome, they have this really nice fabric over the straps that make it look super steezy! Easy in and out with the except when you tighten them down really hard then it's kinda hard to get a strap undone, but normally they are really quick and easy! Awesome bindings, only other thing is to watch the highback adjuster pieces, one of mine fell off because I forgot to tighten it when I was going down, so now I only have one, but it hasn't made a difference as far as I can tell! Overall, great bindings! Totally recommend!

  • Name: 2009 Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,Jumps,Powder
  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Strong edgehold, Great value, Well known brand

Experience:   This board is awesome, I am an intermediate rider and coming from a Salomon Pulse to this was incredible. For someone who hasn't been riding that long switching to a new board and DEFINITELY feeling a difference, that's got to say something. This board has awesome control, holds and edge really well, and it's pretty hard to catch an edge which is very nice! Graphics are pretty cool, I ended up getting the Blue and Yellow one, instead of the Green and Gray and I like better. I love this board, it floats right over the snow with the banana tech, Lib tech is a good company, so you know they have good quality stuff. Overall, I LOVE this board, I'm probably going to sell my old one, and just use this. Definitely one of the best purchases of my life!
"Awesome BackPack!!" 12/23/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Heli Pro 16L
  • Pros:  Awesome backpack, lots of room, more than you would expect, I have stuffed this thing to the brim and had enough clothes for a week! It is also applicable for a water pack, so that's always helpful up on the mountain, really comfy straps, goggle pouch, water bottle pouch, pretty much the best pack I've ever owned, I even use it for school and it works great!
  • Cons:  Absolutely none.

Experience:   This backpack is so awesome!
