"Solid pants - favorite so far!" 12/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Bonfire Radiant Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  waterPROOF, warm, quality materials, good fit and comfortable
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  great fit - comfortable and not baggy

Experience:   These are my favorite pants so far! I have been wearing liners inside so that I can get away with wearing these pants everyday haha. Definitely warm enough without them though. Just picking these up you can tell they are a real quality product. These pants are like a shield to the outer elements. No problem submersing myself in snow waist deep. And the fit is great. I'm 5'9 155 lb and a small is perfect. I think some people said they are really baggy but these are probably the least baggy of all the pants I've tried and fall almost like my straight-leg jeans do.
"fun fun fun! nitro... glycerin!" 12/8/2010

  • Name: 2010 Nitro Subzero Le
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Halfpipe,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  SO soft and flexible, fun, forgiving shape, minimal sacrifice (stability, price, versatility)

Experience:   This is my new favorite board. Got it at the end of last season but I rode it in serious powder out in utah 4 consecutive days. Despite it being smaller than my usual, WAY softer, WAY more flexible, it held up in the powder really well. Took speed really well and I stayed on my board in the chop too. I was riding it with a lot of confidence even on the first run. I am digging the gullwing because I think it really helps to keep this board a versatile board. Board also came out unscathed after some iffy tree runs. whew! Props to sierra for sending me a giftcard when they lowered the price after I bought it! Nitro - I am a fan! Sierra - I was always a fan!

  • Name: 2010 Capita Sierrascope FK

  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  flexible, fun board, high quality materials, great bargain

Experience:   OK my friend and cousin both have this board and I got to try this baby out. I was really excited for them because it has some good materials put into this with the shape of the horrorscope. I wish they'd bring this thing back because I'm regretting not picking one up. It has such a fun ride and presses so easily. I thought it would ride a little stiff but I was wrong. My first ride out on it I didn't even need to adjust and I was riding switch and having a blast.
"nice." 12/9/2008

  • Name: 2008 Technine MFM Pro Series
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Cons:  Boot slippage
  • Fit:  must be adjusted bigger

Experience:   My friend has these in M/L Black/Gold, but I've used them more than he has so far hee hee. I really like them - they are very comfortable, have a lot of cushioning, have a lot of adjustments that can be made, and are easily adjustable. His boot is an 8.5 and mine is a 9W and I need to always adjust it toward the max and he always needs to tighten it up, but it's really easy to do. One thing I did not like is all of the stitching on the straps. It is cheap, and comes off easily on the toe cap. Also the toecap did not fit to my wide boot all that well and kept riding up. What I did for my friend was I talked to their customer support (10/10 for service) and told them how the toecap really wasn't thought out well and not put together well, and he (I think Chris) sent me 2 new sets of older generation caps. My friend prefers the stock toecap for his smaller boot, but I really like one of the ones they sent that seemed more rubberized without any stitching. My experience with this binding was so much better after that small change.

  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   Only 3 days of straight riding on these so far, but I really like them. I am a size 9 wide boot and only made very minimal adjustments on these and they fit really well out of the box. I took them mainly on groomers, but i went off a lot of high drops and off-trail overhangs that i probably wouldn't have attempted in last year's setup. They are very well cushioned, have a nice flex, and are very comfortable. I like the ankle and toe straps better than any other binding i've tried so far. I haven't tried a burton toecap but I've used two different generations of the T9 toecap and I like this 390 toestrap/cap a lot better. It holds a lot better. One other note: don't order from bobwards.com. I had to go there because Sierra was out of stock. They sent me the wrong color, won't reply to emails, and refuse to do anything for me over the phone (takes forever to talk to a human being), even though THEY messed up. Very unprofessional.

  • Name: 2009 Salomon Dialogue
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Traction, Good quality, Easy in & out, Well known brand, Popular model
  • Fit:  wide

Experience:   I own the '09 Salomon Dialogue Wide Selects, which is the same boot with a fresh baby blue color scheme (not sure how many would like these colors lol). I can't comment on some of the things like durability or waterproofing because I've only used these 3 times so far. Getting in and out of the boot is super fast, and the lacing system is really easy and works really well. The laces lock at different zones so that you can adjust accordingly. This is a very comfortable boot for me, without any pressure points whatsoever, and the flex seems to be perfect. If you like a stiffer boot, I would go with the Synapse Wide, but when I tried that on, it seemed too stiff for my taste. This is the first boot (or footwear besides open-toed) that has ever really fit my foot well. If you are in the same boat as I am, and have a wide foot, you should definitely try on one of the models in the Salomon Wide set.

  • Name: 2007 Burton Fair Isle Late Release Womens
  • Pros:  They are very comfortable, I even wore them to sleep the day before (along with all my other gear) so that I could just wake up and hop in the car. They seem to be pretty warm.
  • Cons:  Might be a little funny looking to be wearing these if you're a guy (like I am).

Experience:   They seem pretty warm, but my toes were still cold in my new boots. Temperatures were in the low teens. You can't beat the price so I'll give this 5 stars.
"Love this hoodie!" 11/19/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Promo Wings
  • Pros:  The price is so cheap! I like how it fits, how it feels, how it LOOKS. I love the thumbholes, and how the hood is spacious enough to wear a beanie and flip it on at the same time (I have a big head). Audio pocket is a nice touch - very functional with a slit to route your headphones to the inside.
  • Cons:  Sierra only has this left in one color. Otherwise I'd get one of each of whatever colors they have. Graphic is a little bit cheap - iron on sort of, but it still looks really great. Front pockets aren't functional and are too small.

Experience:   I love this. It looks really hot. It's my new favorite hoodie. I might order one in the same color. I am 5'9" 155 lbs and this fits perfectly in a Large. I'm glad I read the other reviews first. Normally I'm a medium.
"lightweight, not just for small heads" 11/18/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Coal The Vic
  • Pros:  I like the material used; it is lightweight and stretches out nicely. It looks small but if you have a big head (I'm probably an XL) it should fit you fine as well. It stretches out but doesn't look or feel stretched out. It comes with a fake/cheap guitar pick... lol?
  • Cons:  I'm not sure if I like the placement of the "Coal" tag, since I don't wear my beanie with the brim pointing straight out.

Experience:   probably not for colder, windy days like someone else said. I would be afraid to stick this in the washer. It doesn't seem like the most durable of beanies. 4.5 stars if there were a half star rating system.
"I had an odd experience, but it's a great tool." 11/16/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Torque Driver Tool
  • Pros:  It's a good size and fits in your hand well when screwing/unscrewing. I like the easy ratchet system - 3 settings to tighten, loosen, and a non-ratcheted setting.
  • Cons:  I had one and my friend had one. Mine rusted up and his did not. If you take care of your pieces, it won't rust. If you lose your magnetic ball bearing you are screwed (no pun intended). I lost mine upon opening the package and it's a pain trying to keep the different heads on the tool. This is also why mine rusted - I kept dropping the heads in the snow. If I had wiped them dry, they'd be fine but I was lazy.

Experience:   It comes with a lot more pieces than you actually need. I would remove all but 1-2 pieces from the tool and it will be lighter, and if you don't, it will be hard to close if you don't place them in in an organized manner. All of us that used these tools like it; my other friend wants to buy one even after using my rusted up, magnetic ball-bearing-less tool.
"Love my 12L " 11/11/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Day Hiker 12L Pack
  • Pros:  - Bunch of pockets - Chest/Waist straps - Easily adjustable straps - Looks hot - Perfect size
  • Cons:  - Too small to use for things other than snowboarding, biking, skateboarding, etc. Not really big enough to fit a big 3" binder easily or more than 2 notebooks for school. But I knew this already. - So many straps that if you don't use them they will be dangling all over the place (comes with little elastic bands to tie them up though if you're not using them)

Experience:   I have the True Black Strict Plaid. It looked cooler in the image, but I still love this bag. It's actually pretty small, but just big enough to carry all of the things you'll need. It is comfortable on my back and easy to adjust the straps so that they fit just right. I haven't taken it snowboarding yet, but i know that it doesn't swing around because I've skateboarded and biked with it. The snowboard strap on the back works pretty well - I put a razor scooter back there while I was riding and it wasn't moving around or anything at all.
"Reminds me of something Grandma would knit, but much HOTTER and much more stylish." 11/10/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Coal The Mesa
  • Pros:  I think it is a really hot Beanie and goes well with casualwear. Got it for $12.50 and it's even cheaper now so you can't go wrong.
  • Cons:  The "Natural" is not the color that Sierra claimed it to be in the photos. "Natural" is actually an army green base with an alternating army green and beige pattern. It's a very laid back color and goes well with a lot of things, but the "Natural" they had shown would have been a cleaner look.

Experience:   I have a fairly large head. I've never been able to wear baseball caps because my head is too big haha, and it would just look weird in larger sized caps. This beanie is shallower than others I think, but it still fits me well. It doesn't look like it would, but it stretches nicely. I would say definitely pick this up if you think you can pull off the look.
