"Bonfire Safari 2 Womens Jacket 2010" 3/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Bonfire Safari 2 Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Fabric, lots of pockets, functional zipper flaps, Lightweight, available colors, Longer length, oversized hood, all the features!
  • Cons:  non-detachable hood,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Loose, yet fitted. Room to move!

Experience:   The jacket is warm! The large pit zips come in handy for keeping me cool. The jacket is roomy and allows for layers without the bulk or weight. Pockets are everywhere! I just had to open up every pocket-- or at least find every pocket on this jacket. Endless storage. Powder skirt is actually a functional one. There's enough slack so the skirt doesn't ride up when you lift your arms. Twist, bend over, fall all you want. The skirt is staying put. There's a passholder pocket on the skirt too! Handy! The inner liner is quite fancy. A nice touch of detail. The outside fabric of this jacket is great. It's a herringbone texture. Sturdy, yet stylish. Length of the jacket is perfect for short gals such as myself because it prevents snowbutt (when snow goes down your bumcrack). Access to pockets inside the jacket is a cinch thanks to the separate flaps that cover the main zipper. It's a feature I didn't give much thought to until I saw the jacket and used the feature. It's definitely functional. It prevents snow on the zipper, access to pockets and surprisingly... bending was easier. I didn't have the front of the jacket fighting me or bulking up as a crouched down. Now the hood is a great thing. Fits over my helmet and way-way roomy. It would have been nice it if it were detachable. However, this is not a dealbreaker, obviously. It's now my favorite jacket. The violet color very pleasant. Not neon. Just an understated violet. Simple and classic violet... NOT purple. There's a big difference.
"2009 Ride LXh Bindings (Small, White)" 2/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Ride LXH Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Stylish, Wide, secure and functional straps, Progressive
  • Cons:  Narrow width (?),
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Purchased the Ride LXh bindings, White, size Small, from Sierra (obviously!) for a ridiculously low price. This season has left me with more boards than bindings and thought these are good for my first love, the Ride Solace (model year unknown). Currently, I wear Salomon Vigil boots and it's a squeeze to fit them into the binding as the bindings are a tad on the narrow side. The toe side of my boots overlap the inner strap of the bindings. Suppose I could get a Medium set of bindings. Problem solved. Still a cheap buy, but NOT to be mistaken for cheap quality. I believe these bindings to be rugged enough to withstand the damage posed by an intermediate snowboarder. Add points for style-- colors are nice. The straps will certainly hold you down. They are beefy! The toe strap may be used as toe caps if you prefer. Overall weight is average and relative for their size. I like them very much!
"686 Mannual Bliss Pants = LOVE!" 2/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 686 Mannual Bliss Insulated Womens
  • Pros:  Style (detail on pockets), Vents (leg vent design doesn't snag), All features are functional!
  • Cons:  I don't have other colors... yet.,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  XS
  • Description:  Perfect and comfy

Experience:   I typically wear layers under my Burton AK 3L Static pant and since the pow has arrived, I wanted some insulated ones. Recently got the 686 Mannual Bliss pants as an addition to my current winter wardrobe and I must say they are too awesome! The fit is true to form. An extra small is an extra small. The pant has understated yet stylish details on the back pockets. Leg vents are designed well. Most pants I've tried on have the mesh that flops around when the vent is open. Great, but when you try to close it, the mesh gets caught in the zipper. That's a boo! The 686 Mannual Bliss Pant doesn't do that at all. There's a fabric that reinforces sections of the mesh to prevent it from jamming up the zipper. Love, love, love! The hand pockets have zippers and they're fleece-lined (or similar feel). A smaller coin pocket works well for keeping my chapstick secure. The leg pocket has a slanted zipper, which easily opens/closes in the natural sway of your arm while you cruise along. The pant also has articulated knees. Most important feature of this pant? They're downright comfortable! Suck it up and get one before it's out of stock!
"Functional" 2/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Dakine Torque Driver Snowboard Tool
  • Pros:  Handy, Functional, Compact
  • Cons:  Cap can be lost,

Experience:   I have a green one. It certainly serves its purpose and has done very well over time. I've lost the original bits, but replacements are readily available at Home Depot or a similar place. The cap design could be better because it comes off. Dropping it in the snow is a huge no-no. Wearing gloves while screwing back the cap could also prove challenging, especially in less than ideal weather (gusty wind, for example). I like that it's translucent so the contents are visible. The shape of the tool is great and allows one to really apply some torque.
"2011 Burton Lucky Pants - Love it!" 10/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Burton Lucky Snowboard Pants Women's
  • Pros:  Fits well, freedom of movement, warm, leg vents, pockets, ratings, adjustable waist, available sizes (short, regular, tall)
  • Cons:  Haven't found any at this time.,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  XS
  • Description:  Loose, just right!, good length, lightweight

Experience:   When it fits, you smile. This is what happened when I found these pants. I have the purple, XS. I thought I needed the XS-Short, but the regular is a good fit in regards to bending and covering the boots. Lots of room for layers. The herringbone fabric is soft and durable. I have this fabric on a jacket and it rocks! The Lucky Snow Pants don't have the stiff, crunchy feel. Lots of pockets to put things. The lift pass even comes out of the leg pocket. Cool feature! The pant hems can be folded and clipped so you don't drag the pants. Waistband is adjustable with hook/loop straps. These pants can be connected to a matching jacket in the series (this is a sig fit pant). Rating is 15K/5K. Good enough for me!
"Great Mittens!" 4/20/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Gore Mittens - Women's
  • Pros:  Warm, they have vents, Liner included, goggle wipe, true to size, cushy, rugged
  • Cons:  n/a,

Experience:   Purchased these mittens as a replacement. The mitts include the liners, which are super warm when worn alone. These things are everything I need to keep my hands toasty. Works well for making snowballs, too. The goggle wipe works very well. There are vents on top of the hands in case you get too toasty. You can actually feel air going though them, so they actually function! The ties cinch well enough to keep anything out, even the cold. I got the basic black ones, but they come in other colors/patterns that are stylish. I'm going to pick up another pair. Oh, they fit exactly as they should (slimmer, dainty hands fit best). That's a great thing in any case because who wants gloves that don't fit?!
"Wicked V-Spot!" 4/10/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra V Spot Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Everything. Weight, design, capabilities, Flex, tech specs,
  • Cons:  Purchased it late. Darn!,

Experience:   Review The Sierra V-Spot ROCKS!  Got a 138. Tried it today.  LOVE IT!  Only regret is that I didn't get one earlier in the season!  The board put a smile on my face and a woo hoo! involuntarily came out!  To most, it will likely be a noodle.  For smaller gals around the 100 lbs range, this is just super!  Perfect flex for trying new tricks.  Definitely a board that will help you progress to the next level.  The board is extremely stable at high speeds, edge hold is great, lofts on powder, playful on groomers.  Once you ride one, you too, will be a riding advertisement for Sierra.  It's bound to  happen when a board such as the V-Spot forces you to grin from ear to ear.  Pick one up!  You won't regret it!
"Special Blend Fluff Womens Jacket" 3/20/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Special Blend Fluff Womens
  • Pros:  Warm, Stylish, Slim design
  • Cons:  Powderskirt too short (?),
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  XS
  • Description:  Slim, snug.

Experience:   Purchased this jacket because it came in the color/size I wanted. The powder skirt still sucks, unless you have SB pants, then the jacket and pants snap together to create what seems to be a good barrier to snowbutt. Overall, the fit is fine for me, but to a person over 5 feet tall, I suggest ordering one size up. The jacket has the standard features such as a goggle pocket, lined pockets, pass lanyard, etc. The removable hood is a great feature! Reduces bulk. This is a perfect bluebird day jacket. Base layer and a jacket. Good enough. Jacket has a classic look that can carry year to year.
"Lots of Everything!" 2/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Heli Pro Womens
  • Pros:  Space! Lots of it!, Lightweight, Functional
  • Cons:  no cons,

Experience:   Got the pack today and it's more than I was hoping for. It has tons... and I mean tons of room for whatever you want to carry on the mountain. There's a compartment for a hydration pack. The tube runs inside the shoulder strap to keep the water from freezing. I can lug around skis AND a snowboard if choose to. Waist strap is rugged and keeps the pack from moving around. Helps distribute the weight evenly so your back doesn't bear all the weight. A sleeping bag could certainly fit in the pack. Whatever you want to stuff in there, whether it be books, boots, clothes, a pillow in case you fall... this backpack is up for the job. It's even stylish! Just get one. You'll love it!
"Fluffy and Cozy!" 12/14/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Special Blend Fluff Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  Pockets, Pit Zips/Vents, Lightweight, Detachable hood, powderskirt, fur on hood., Roomy!
  • Cons:  No cuffs.,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  XXS
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Baggy fit, good for layers.

Experience:   Love it. The Fluff jacket is almost like a down blanket. It's quite large on me because I'm really small. Well-designed for performance as stated. You will be toasty on the lift during those blasting, cold winds. The hood is oversized, big enough to fit over a helmet. Features are functional, especially the lanyard pass clip. Handy! The jacket also doubles as a pillow and cushion as you flop around the mountain. Tough jacket! The cuffs are a slight setback as there really isn't one. Although, it's so minor due to the price of $63+tax! Sold!

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: The waist gaiters are sub-par. They ride up and become bra gaiters when arms are lifted. Discovered this as an issue during riding some 18 or so inches of pow. Groomers, this jacket is super!

The design is colorful and bright. No smudges or mistakes. Good job on the printing. I'll be air drying the tee to preserve the design. Quit reading my review and get an SS shirt!

"A+ for Burton AK" 9/22/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton AK 3L Static Womens
  • Pros:  Gore-Tex (need I say more?!), Leg vents (ghetto zips), See my review!
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XXS
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  waist perfectly adjusts, loose leg fit, length true to size.

Experience:   Wicked sweet pants! <p> I have a an almost-ridiculous list of standards when it comes to clothing since being extremely petite is an somewhat of an issue. The Burton AK 3L Static pants are overall awesome. They are truly made primarily for function (of course!) Here's why... <p> -Gore-Tex... waterproof, windproof, highly breathable. All the technology needed to keep your butt comfy. <br> -Adjustable waist is as easy as pulling the belt. That's it. No fumbling with buttons, latches, ties. Pull and go. <br> -Zippers are bad-ass. Never seen anything like it. Even the slider is protected. <br> -Lighweight. Yes, this specific model is a soft shell, but it does the job of lined pants. Some people don't like puffy pants, so this one is definitely a contender. <br> -True to size. I'm 4-foot 9 and these pants fit lengthwise. Even more so with my boots on. They have these loops to keep the pants from dragging as you walk. <p> These pants are simple and to the point without sacrificing technology. These were purchased at a steal ($59.99 + tax) from SS, so that's just icing on the cake! <p> BUY THESE PANTS. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
"Sweet goggles!" 9/15/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Smith Heiress Womens
  • Pros:  variety of designs/colors, helmet-compatible, good fit for round faces, quick-release latch, changeable lens, it has vents (+1 on that)!
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   I've been wanting these goggles since last season. Couldn't pass up the sale, so I got them. No regrets! They fit my face perfectly and the quick-release latch is great. No more pulling the goggle strap over my head. They're also really lightweight. The design is slimmer compared to other goggles on the market. My vision is no longer limited by the bulk. Peripheral vision increased. <p> The goggle has vents like a full-faced motorcycle helmet! It adjusts to your preference. <p> I recommend this for smaller framed, round faces.

  • Name: 2009 Salomon Vigil Womens
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Durable, Traction, Good quality, Warm, Breathable, Waterproofing, Easy in & out, Well known brand
  • Fit:  average

Experience:   NO CONS. Wiggle room for toes, extremely light, no pressure points, great traction, all around feel-good boots! I have DC Halos and they aren't even close to to the degree of comfort of this Salomon boots. I hate to say it, but with all the tech in the DC boots, my feet were still cold and damp. The Salomon Vigil boots solved that problem right away. No more cold toes! They were actually very warm and cozy after taking off the boots. It's so fast to get in and out of the boots. Adjusting them is a ridiculously quick/easy. I went to Sierra Snowboard looking for pants, but at the insane price I got these boots... my honey bunny got boots too! It was like "Buy 1, Get 1 Free"! Sweet deal!

  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,Jumps,Powder
  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Strong edgehold, Great value, Stiff, Well known brand

Experience:   The title says it all: LOVE IT! I figured for less that $100, I couldn't pass it up... even if I ended up disliking it. My thoughts on it is far from dislike! I used this on black diamond runs and it performed insanely responsive. Carving was phenomenal! Full control speeding down the mountain and the edges reacted instantly at hard breaking. The ride is soooo fun! Must I mention the board is extremely light?! Yes it is. The graphics and colors are nice and neutral. This board is highly recommended for smaller riders (under 5 feet).

  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation

Experience:   Great bindings, lots of technology. Very light. Union should make kids' sizes with the same tech. Smaller riders would appreciate it.
"No More Tired Feet" 2/5/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2011 Superfeet Footbeds F
  • Pros:  Custom support, cupped heels keep your foot in place and helps balance your step.
  • Cons:  Price? You get what you pay for in this case.

Experience:   I have these in my ski boots. Best thing I've ever purchased. After a day of skiing, I didn't have any aches or tiredness like I usually had. My feet were completely supported. I'm a walking advertisement for these. These should come with ALL footwear!
"Weight vs. Function" 2/5/2009

  • Name: 2009 Flow Muse Womens
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Well known brand, Easy installation
  • Cons:  Heavy

Experience:   The weight of these bindings are rather disappointing. Then again, these are perfect for beginners due to the ease of getting in and out. They're very handy during offloading of lifts. It seems to be designed for function, not weight. Possibly, the higher end models may solve that problem.
"Love These Lexas!" 2/5/2009

  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   After weeks of research, these were my second choice. The number of ways to customize these bindings to the rider is insane! It took a while to get them fitted to my specs, but well worth it. Not sure about the toecap thing, but the inner part has grippy material and hugs my boots (DC Halos). I also like the square dots design because it's simple and clean. Certainly not menacing like some bindings out there. Flash bindings don't do a thing for your ability to ride. These are overall, great bindings and recommend them.

UPDATE: The toe caps keep sliding off even with the grip material. Using on different boots, though. Must adjust after first few turns. Looking to switch out caps for regular straps. FYI if you want these ones. They still get the same rating from me even with the toe strap issue!

  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Carving,Groomers,Powder
  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Strong edgehold, Great value, Popular on mountain, Well known brand

Experience:   I have an '05 Solace. Easy to maneuver, very light, graphics are modern and clean. I love this board for so many reasons and didn't get a new board until recently because I didn't feel another board would be up to par. Fun in powder and great on groomers. I want another Solace. Recommend this board to adventurous beginners.
"Sweet Socks, Great Deal!" 1/19/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Fair Isle Late Release Womens

  • Cons:  A little fuzzy after the wash, even in gentle cycle.

Experience:   I had to get 5 of them in different colors and patterns. I love these socks!
