"My favorite Bindings" 2/5/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Flow NXT AT Snowboard Bindings Men's
  • Pros:  Easy to get in and out, Durable,
  • Cons:  Snow packs on bottom, Have to wait for friends to strap in,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These are my favorite bindings and at this moment can't go back to regular straps. I actually have the 2009 versions and they are still working properly with no issues (probably ridden about 20 times). As with all bindings you need to adjust it for the right fit, but once it's dialed in it's very easy to get in and out. Response is good, but I'm no Pro, so minor differences I won't be able to tell. The cons of this and I'm assuming all flows are that when riding a lot of powder, the snow sometimes packs down and you'll have to clear it eventually or it'll get too tight. Also if you sink in deep powder it's really hard to get out of the bindings.
"Sharp and Grippy Stomp Pad" 2/6/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2012 Dakine Xmat
  • Pros:  Lots of Grip,
  • Cons:  Very Sharp when new,

Experience:   This stomp pad is big and sharp which means lots of traction. However I noticed one time when picking up my board to carry, it was actually too sharp and I actually jabbed myself in the finger with one of the spikes and got cut. After a couple uses, it dulled down and is fine now. So in the end, it is a very grippy pad, but just be careful when brand new.
"Fairly Stiff Boot" 2/6/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Vans Fargo
  • Pros:  Comfy, Warm,
  • Cons:  A little stiff,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  8
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   I actually purchased a 1/2 size bigger, but it was a mistake. It was great and snug for the first few times of riding, but then as it got broken in, it feels a little big now. So I recommend getting your true shoe size. Other than that, the BOA system is great on this, no issues whatsoever. The boot is a bit stiff but that is the way it's supposed to be as listed in the specs.
"Good Socks" 2/6/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2012 Smartwool Phd Snowboard Medium Socks Men's
  • Pros:  Padded, Warm, Comfortable
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S

Experience:   These socks are padded and very comfortable. The fit is true to size and they keep me warm all day on the mountain with my boots on.
"Great Board" 2/6/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Custom Snowboard - Boy's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  stable, control, good all around board

Experience:   This board was my first purchase after renting a couple times. I looked at all the reviews and spoke to some people and they all recommended a Custom. This board did not disappoint. It has great control, is very stable, and I've improved a lot since getting this board. It's great all around the mountain.
"Good bag for light travel" 2/5/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Freestyle Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Cheap Price, Fits basics,
  • Cons:  Material very thin,

Experience:   I originally used this to travel around with as it can fit my snowboard with bindings, jacket, helmet, pants, and gloves. However after 3 uses, the material ripped while holding it by the strap so now there's a small hole. I'm guessing it's because it couldn't take all the weight. Now I just use it for lugging the snowboard and boots around when going to the local mountain, but no more airport trips. Other than that, it's a decent bag for a good price, but you get what you pay for in bags. It is good at what it's for and that's for carrying your snowboard and a little bit of other stuff.
"Good Pants for the Price" 2/5/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Sessions Achilles Snowboard Pants Men's
  • Pros:  Lots of pockets, Warm,
  • Cons:  Runs a little big and baggy,
  • Pant Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Fits a little baggy and runs a bit big

Experience:   I'm usually a size small, but this size small runs a bit big so I just use a belt with it. It's also a little baggy which is the style which may be why it's a little bigger than normal, but it allows me to fit my impact shorts under it with ease. Other than that, I love how there are so many pockets. It's great in cold and warm weather and looks great.
"Good mitt for cold" 2/4/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Profile Under Snowboard Mitts - Men's
  • Pros:  Very warm, comfortable,
  • Cons:  hands sweaty when warm,

Experience:   These mitts are very warm and comfortable and very water/snow proof. Another thing I liked is that both thumbs have a soft material to use to wipe a runny nose (at least that's what I use them for!). The only problem is that they are sometimes too warm and my hands start sweating. This is probably due to the lack of venting system. However I just take them off and let them dangle around my wrist when it's too warm.
"Decent Helmet" 2/4/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Red HiFi Snowboard Helmet
  • Pros:  Protects well, Warm,
  • Cons:  Goggle holder not the greatest,

Experience:   This helmet saved my head a couple times. It's great during warmer weather as it vents well and also cooler weather. I've ridden in -26F with just the helmet on my head and my ears were fine (i do have a good cold tolerance though). The only thing to complain about is the goggle holder. It works and I've never really had a problem with it, however I did notice the strap did come out of it a couple times which means if I fell hard during those times, my goggles would probably have fallen off. Other than that, it is a decent helmet.
"Great Goggles" 2/4/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dragon DX Goggles
  • Pros:  No fog, comfortable, cheap price

Experience:   Got these because of the good reviews and the cheap price and did not regret it. These are comfortable and never fog up. Mine also came with 2 lenses that I can switch out but I've never done it yet since the lens it came with works well in both day and night.
