"Great board" 1/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Sierra Team Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Fast, Flexible, Edge grip
  • Cons:  Durability,

Experience:   Generally an all mountain rider looking to progress in the park. First off, awesome board especially with the $100 gift card deal back during promotion. Flexibility makes it fun to ride, but also performs great on steeps. Did not washout at any time with sharp turning on groomed or semi-icy surfaces. Top sheet and polymer was slightly damaged after 2 days of riding, which was not a problem with my old board of 5 years. Then again, perhaps I was able to be more aggressive with this board.

Comments & Questions

noobie
after one day of riding the nose and tail chip n mines and a little bit on the side. but its a pretty good board.

"Great pair of bargain bindings" 5/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Citizen Womens
  • Pros:  Low price, Soft , Light weight
  • Cons:  All soft plastic,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   Perfect pair of bindings for a new and progressing rider. Should be coupled with any type of soft flexing board (as this binding is too soft to be installed on anything else). It has nearly all the customizability of your higher price-point bindings (i.e. ankle and toe cushion adjustment, forward lean, high back rotation). Unfortunately, it does not all you to adjust the heel cup. That being said, being all plastic and fairly soft, I'm afraid the high back or base plate might snap on some aggressive riding (so definitely for a more petite sized girl).
"Cool Tool" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  Sturdy construction,
  • Cons:  Foam wrench connector, Cannot stow away all screw bits,

Experience:   Basic board tool that serves its purpose. The styrofoam ring that holds the wrench to the main body can come loose, and the durability is questionable. A bit heavy/bulky compared to pictures and definitely not something to stash in jacket or pants, since one screw bit must always be out (you essentially push one bit into the handle storage while popping another one out). Definitely do not want to risk impaling yourself on that....so would recommending stowing it in a day pack.
"Burton Fieldworks" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Burton Fieldwork
  • Pros:  Reinforced Leather Palms,
  • Cons:  Lacks perfect fit,

Experience:   Great set of yarn gloves with the mitten covers. Superior to many other convertible gloves/mittens I've found due to the reinforced leathering of palms/fingers at the same price point. Really meant for wearing around town on a cold day and not for snow activities since they're definitely not waterproof. On the downside, since its one size fits most, I find the palm/fingers to be proportionally tighter than the wrist area. Then again, at $9 you really can't go wrong.
"Burton Fly Pants" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Fly Snowboard Pants
  • Pros:  Many pockets, Season Tag display panel, Room built in for layering
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  XS
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  True to size

Experience:   Great pair of pants that I got for the gf. At 60% off it was already a steal, and Sierra Snowboard never fails to disappoint with their 30 day money adjustment guarantee. Pants are true to size. True waist measurement around 24-25 (in between size). Pants size in S is slightly big, but a good fit was achieved due to the internal elastic velcro bands. If you wear pants by the belly button, get size in actual measurements or towards the smaller size. If you wear it low on the hips, go with the size up and use the internal adjustments. Sig fit as described is slightly looser with room for layering, though it still does hug the curves somewhat. A ton of great features - pockets, interface with Burton jackets, etc.
"Sweet Board" 5/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Lux Womens
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Park,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Super light, Soft flex, Twin shape

Experience:   Wonderful board for the beginner to progressing rider. Board handles just about anything the east coast has to offer. The light weight and soft flex makes it super forgiving, easy to maneuver, and just fun to learn on (beats the heck out of rental boards). Twin shape also makes it easy to progress with switch riding. Despite its weightlessness, its still well constructed.
"Awesome Boots" 5/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Jeremy Jones
  • Pros:  Comfy fit, Included j-bars, Funky colors
  • Cons:  May pack out fast,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   This review is for the 2009 Jeremy Jones in camouflage. Great pair of boots for the all mountain freestyle riding. Boots fit very comfortably and stay secured since the internal lacing is sown into the shell itself rather than the lining, so it really locks the liner into the shell. The velcro really secures the 3d molded tongue well. The feel of the boot is slightly different since the base is relatively flat, so it does increase board feel. Also, Burton shrinkage tech is awesome. M/L bindings that my previous boots had to squeeze into, these boots easily went in with even some wiggle room to spare. On the other hand, due to the soft flex, you'll have to do some extra work on those carves. Lastly, I did feel some heel lift on the initial days of riding even after tightening laces all the way. That problem went away after putting in the included j-bars, though I just hope they won't pack out too fast.
"Wonderful gloves" 4/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Gore Mittens
  • Pros:  Included fleece liners, GoreTex!,
  • Cons:  Bulkier than expected,

Experience:   Great prices for GoreTex gloves. Sizing is true doing the knuckle width measurement. Even though the mittens out of the bag looks a bit bulky, it fits just right. One thought is to definitely size up if you're borderline and have long fingers. Included fleece liner is a wonderful bonus (turquoise-ish colored grip liners come with the black gridline mits).
"great jacket" 4/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Dream Womens
  • Pros:  Several external pockets, Shirt to pants interface, Hidden pockets
  • Cons:  No internal zippered pockets, Non-removable hood,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  True to size with sig fit features.

Experience:   Great jacket for the gf. Mahogany with pinstripe style looks even better than the photos. Its a very stylish jacket that can be worn on the slopes and around town. Sturdy, slightly raised herring bone twill type construction on the mahogany color. Most importantly, its true to size. Measurement was 31 around with bust and went with the S size which gave just the right amount of room for optional layering while still maintaining a fitting form. In addition, the interface works wonderfully with 2010 Burton pants.
"Awesome backpack" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Dakine Jewel Womens
  • Pros:  Numerous compartments, Sturdy build,

Experience:   Another great item from Dakine. Very sturdy construction with loads of compartments. Got the black version, since I was looking for something I can carry to work. The inside lining is very girly and colorful, which is totally fine. Overall size is about a medium to large pack for a girl. Contains concealed laptop compartment (its own separate zippable compartment) - can probably fit up to a 15in laptop. Main compartment can fit a few notebooks with some thin textbooks. Also includes small plush holder for sunglasses, organizer compartment, 2 side nets for water bottles, and small insulated compartment for food stuffs (not tested out yet). Great all around pack, though probably too big for a 5'3-4 girl to carry while boarding.
