"the ONLY bag you need" 12/9/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Dakine Heli Pro DLX 20L
  • Pros:  well thought out design, everything is useful, sweet colorways, lots of features
  • Cons:  not big enough for anything over a day trip,

Experience:   I got this pack and had to sit down for about an hour playing with everything on the bag to really figure out all the features it had. After seeing everything it had, I started to fit all of my gear into it, and everything fits in its own place perfectly. The front pocket fits my Black Diamond Deploy 7 shovel perfectly. I can put an ice axe in the side holster and grab it easily, but trekking poles can go into that holster just as easily. Goggles fit in the goggle pocket. Probe and snowshoes go in the main pocket, along with some layers and a little bit of food. Water fits in the bladder pocket, beer fits in the retractable beer holster. This backpack just works and fits everything you need for a day. For backcountry multi-day trips, I bring this bag along with my big bag. On the days we go out just to ride, I bring this along. Sometimes I rock it in the resort, but I compress it a lot so its a skinny pack. The compression straps on this are awesome, they give you a lot of load carrying flexibility. All in all, an awesome bag.

  • Name: 2009 Special Blend Get Radical Short Sleeve
  • Pros:  stylish, crazy graphics, great fit
  • Cons:  zero,
  • Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  perfect

Experience:   This shirt is exactly what I wanted. Basically any night that asks for crazy style, I throw this shirt on and go out on the town. The night that follows is generally pretty ridiculous (in a good way) and I get constant compliments on this shirt. This shirt will help you make moves

  • Name: 2010 Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Jibs
  • Pros:  super playful, soft and buttery, floaty
  • Cons:  chatters at speed, slow base, lack of pop

Experience:   This board lives up to just about all the hype...and the trashtalk. It's a good board with a really lively and playful feel to it. If you can handle buttering down a mountain, you can literally be on an end the entire way down and this board will LOVE it. You can jib, you can do park, you can go hit up some turns in pow and this board will be able to keep up (to some extent). Just don't expect this board to shoot you up into the air off a booter or maintain super speed well. The base isn't an anomaly among extruded bases...it is slow. The board does have a chattery aspect to it, due to the softness of the board. And well, the pop on this years banana is better than before, but it's definitely still lacking compared to all Camber boards as well as most Flat or Rocker/Camber boards. This board is for the advanced intermediate who wants to ride park and a little bit of everywhere on a soft, playful board.

  • Name: 2010 GNU Carbon Credit Series BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Jibs,Jumps
  • Pros:  Nice Introductory Reverse Camber Board, Magnetraction gives good edge hold, soft
  • Cons:  Slow, not super durable,

Experience:   This board is super fun and playful, and a great beginner board. It's soft and buttery, but can easily be used off the smaller booters in the park. Good for a first board after some rentals or demos, and a great board to lead into other Mervin BTX boards. Top sheet chips relatively easily, but its not the top of the line anyway. Get stoked!

  • Name: 2008 Special Blend Annex
  • Pros:  Great Craftsmanship, Waterproof, Looks darn good
  • Cons:  Had one of the elevator strings break, Hard to rebutton pockets with gloves,
  • Pant Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Conservatively Baggy

Experience:   I love these pants, they look super good being baggy, but not incredibly so. I have two pairs, one in bright teal blue and one in a black/grey checkered pattern. I wear them quite a bit and the only problem I've run into is that one of the elevator strings in my teal pants snapped so I can't pull the bottom cuff up anymore. Not a big deal but just something to note: Don't pull them too hard. It can also be a pain to rebutton the snap buttons on the pockets when you're wearing gloves. Just some things to note. Otherwise, awesomely steezy pants that will make you very happy if you're into that. I'm 6'0 175 lbs and wear a Medium.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Slub Snowboard Jacket
  • Pros:  fully taped seams, definitely waterproof, looks darn good
  • Cons:  Wrist velcro came undone,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  It's a bit baggy, but not to the point of being too much.

Experience:   This jacket has all the steeze you could want without looking like you're wearing something ridiculous. Goes well with a pair of team fit pants. The wrist velcro was the only thing I had any problem with, as it came undone and got snow up the sleeve of my jacket.

  • Name: 2010 Union Force
  • Pros:  Durable, Adjustable, Versatile
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These bindings are basically the one go-to binding that you can count on regardless of what you're doing. No matter what you're riding, having forces on your board is never a bad idea. Slashing pow-cool!, booters-cool!, doing some jibnastics-Cool! These bindings do not disappoint and are well worth the $200 investment. No question.
