mjw2291 - This may be a little extreme for some people but try taking a few Tumbling classes over the off season. I have done Gymnastics/Tumbling for a few years and every time i fall, and i do quite a bit, i pop straight back onto my feet and keep riding. Makes hurting yourself alot less likely.

dougfagel - Falling with your arms out is the natural reaction. You have to train yourself to fall safely to avoid injury. The best way to train the body is through repetition of proper movement patterns.

kazmataz - Good general tips for a beginner like myself thanks....safety first! What ever happens, don't fall first on your back ON ICE! My friend did and his back is screwed for life! No skydiving, no rollercoasters....poor guy.....take care of yourselfs and ride safely
